Chapter 7: Going In
Chapter 7: Going In
In Buffy’s room Xander drew a circle according to Will’s instructions, while Giles set some candles, and Willow talked to Buffy who was already changed for bed.
“So all you have to do is go to sleep, I’ll see everything, but will not be in the dream with you, I’ll just tap into your mind and kind of see what you are seeing, that ok with you?”
“You’ll not be with me?” Buffy sounded frightened, her voice breaking a little, like a little girl who has to sleep with the light off.
“I’ll be there, you just won’t see me, but you’ll not be alone. Remember that”.
“Ok”.
“So get comfy, I’ll be in bed with you and hold your hand. Xander, you will be inside the circle and can go to sleep too, it makes no difference. You are just here for me to find you when I need to disconnect, and Giles, you do have to stay awake, no matter what, and wake up Xander to call me if anything happens”.
“Now, I need to get into something comfortable too. Giles, would you come with me and get some more blankets out of my room? We’ll need them, it gets cold here at night”.
Giles followed Willow to her room and step inside while she closed the door. “Tell me”.
“Right. I don’t want you to wake me up”.
“Willow...” Began Giles but she went on.
“According to Xander the nightmares are pretty bad, and if they are, there’ll probably be a lot of trashing and noise and stuff, and I want to stay till the end, I could miss something important otherwise and this is not something that I can do over and over if I want to, it’s an intrusion. So I’m asking you not to wake me up, I’ll wake up when Buffy does. This is important”.
“I understand, I won’t interfere unless I really feel I must”.
“Grab those blankets then and I’ll be right there”.
A moment after, everyone was in their place. Giles by the desk, Xander in the circle in a recliner and Willow with Buffy in bed, holding hands.
“I’m with you, remember, and will not leave you alone, think of me as your invisible wicca dream companion”.
Buffy smiled and close her eyes, after two deep breaths she was sleep, she was so exhausted. Then Willow gave the Ok sign to the others and softly murmuring the incantation felt sleep as well.
