NOTES: AU season six, Buffy did not die, Spike saved her. However I will use parts of season six as I see fit and may screw around with the time line. ‘Cuz I’m evil.

Telling
Buffy stood in front of Giles door. ‘Surely it’s not too late? It’s only 10. Besides this is important.’ She took a deep breath and knocked.
Giles answered the door. He was wearing a blue silk shirt open at the neck with a pair of khaki slacks and he was barefoot. He looked sexy. ‘Shut up brain! You are not that horny.’ “Giles, can I come in? Something is going on!”
“Of course Buffy, come in. Have a seat. What’s wrong?”
Buffy sat and told Giles what she had overheard.
“And you said this demon was a Sleestak? I’ve never heard of a Sleestak demon. How do you know this?”
“No I said he looked like a Sleestak.”
“And what does a Sleestak look like?”
“From Land of the Lost? Ringing any bells here?”
“No,” Giles was becoming visibly exasperated.
She described the demon.
“So it was male, bipedal and reptilian?’
“Yes.”
“And it called itself Enik?”
“Yes.”
“Hmmm. Did you confront Spike?”
“No, I thought it would be better to wait for more information, like who this Enik guy was working for, and what they want Spike to do.”
“Very good, but we really need to keep a close eye on the situation. Frankly I’m disappointed that Spike did not tell us about this development. I thought he had changed.”
“I think he was going to talk to Xander and Anya first.”
“Really? Why do you believe that?”
“It’s a long story and I still haven’t worked out the complexities of the relationship, but I believe the three are closer,” she paused, “friends that we had realized.”
“Well, I still think we need to closely watch Spike.”
“Oh I plan to.”
“Buffy you should take this seriously, if we are wrong about Spike changing, then you will be the first he goes after if the chip is deactivated.”
“Well about that Giles…”
“About nothing,” he huffed. “I really think you should be taking this a little more…”
“The chip doesn’t work on me.”
