SUMMARY:

Epilogue

70 years later...

A silent figure walked slowly through the cemetery, before stopping at seven well familiar headstones.

He was young and was unearthly beautiful with ancient eyes.

"I'm here just as I promised you I always would be, to tell you of our adventures. You know how I've told you how Spike's taken to being, as he still calls us, a White Hat? Well, now he's actually wearing a white hat," he chuckled somberly.

Then he began to tell his silent friends of his adventures as he traveled the world in the service of the Powers That Be. Fighting this demon or that demon, how they had prevented another apocalypse. Telling them of the Slayers around the world that he had met, some good, some bad.

He spoke of the joy and satisfaction he felt, how much he had grown in the passage of years.

He chuckled, "You almost wouldn't believe it was still me," he smiled. Hearing footsteps behind him he twisted around, sighing knowing that it was time to go.

"Well, looks like I gotta go, duty calls and all that, ya know," he said as he got smoothly to his feet. Beautiful grace and power in every limb, he was a work of art to the admiring gaze of his lover.

Biting his lip he gazed through blurry tearful eyes at the headstones...

Rupert Giles---Giles had died as he wanted, fighting a demon and saving lives almost 60 years ago.

Winifred Gunn---sweet, funny girl with the shy smile and eyes. Frightenly brilliant, she had come up with some of the most cleverest toys. Killed by a drunk driver 15 years ago, for a while it had seemed that Gunn would join her, but he had rallied and learned to live without her....

Charles Gunn---power personified, tough talking man that fought constantly to strive to better himself, to be seen as something other than just a street tough, until he finally realized that what other people thought of him didn't matter. Only what his 'family' thought of him mattered. Killed by T'pka demon 8 years ago...finally at peace with his beloved wife.

Wesley and Andrew Wyndham-Price---he well remember the day when they wed, when it finally became legal for same-sex couples to marry. The look of joy on Andrew's face when he told them that Wesley had proposed. The only thing that had marred the wedding day had been Wesley's cold-ass father, unfortunately for the Senior Mr. Wyndham-Price his son was a grown man with lots of deadly friends. Others outside their tight family simply couldn't reconcile how such a gentle innocent like Andrew stayed with Wesley. All they ever saw was the cold, ruthless exterior Wes presented to the world but at home, within the family the cold couldn't help but melt under the warmth of Andrew's smile. Wes and Andrew died the way they wanted...in each other's arms after Andrew's magic had failed. In saving the hostages they lost their lives. Dead for over 20 years

He stepped to the last two gravestones...

Willow Rosenburg---beautiful, wonderful, deadly. She had lasted the longest of the mortals. She had never married, and he had finally realized why: in her heart she was married...to Tara. After Kennedy, she never dated again...
choosing to stay in L.A. despite Kennedy's pleas for another chance and Giles frequent requests to come to England with him. Eventually, Giles had given in and joined them in L.A completing them. It had been 10 years since he had lost her and still he mourned the gentle, beautiful girl.

He came to the last gravestone, somberly regarding the engraved words

Alexander LaValle Harris---

Behind him, the others regarded the dark haired man head quietly.

"Think he'll be okay," Spike said thoughtfully.

"He has been every year," Cordy said with a raised brow, her face as beautiful and ageless as ever as she looked at Spike and leaned gently into his side.

"They were close," Dawn said as she leaned against his other side, looking up at her husband with a tiny smile.

Spike grinned down at her, everyday he wondered what did he do that was so special that he deserved to have Cordy and Dawn as his wives? Life, or rather his unlife was good.

"Xander," Angel called softly, "It's time to go."

His face was sympathetic as he regarded his husband, knowing what a difficult decision they had made 65 years ago to fake his death. Despite demons running around, people pointed at Xander, muttering suspiciously under their breath. Now a days, no one looked twice as they traveled the world.

Xander looked up, even after all this time it still shook him to see his name carved on a gravestone. He looked over his shoulder at Angel, at his beautiful husband....as long as Angel lived, he would live also…he remembered that promise from the Oracles.

With a smile he rose to his feet, and without taking his eyes off of Angel, he rolled his hips seductively, a hot gleam of desire in his eyes. After visiting the graves, the only thing he wanted to do was go home and celebrate life with Angel. Making love throughout the night and long into the day.

Angel's eyes gleamed as well as SpiDawnDawn and Cordy chuckled.

"Maybe we need to get another room if we wanna sleep tonight," Spike snickered, his laughing faltering under the determined glitter in his wives' eyes.

"Spike," Dawn purred, "Who ever said that you were going to sleep?" A distinctly lavicious look on her face.

"Oh yeah, big boy," Cordy licked his ear, sending shivers racing through him, "Me and Dawnie got plans for you....long...hard...plans." She bit his ear.

Xander flowed into Angel's arms, "Love you forever," he whispered kissing Angel hungrily.

"Forever," Angel moaned, before leading his husband back to the hotel and their celebration of life.

And all five celebrated life to the fullest...two vampires, one half-demon, the immortal Key and the immortal Seer.
