Joining the Fight
Buffy and Willow had quickly discovered Oz’s van parked in front of the guitar shop and the scene was not pretty. It looked like someone or thing had attacked the young werewolf as he tried to get to his vehicle. There was a bit of blood, a few new dents that Willow said she hadn’t noticed before now and of course the biggest tell that let them believe he was (hopefully) still alive…a trail…of blood leading into the woods.
Trailing the blood led the two young women to catch up to several vamps who were in turn trailing Oz, or at least they guessed it was Oz as they hadn’t yet caught sight of him.
Following after the vamps Buffy and Willow soon after her burst free of the woods out onto the field where they discovered the rest of their friends battling ten or so vamps.
Spotting her boyfriend on the ground with Tara standing protectively over him Willow runs to them with a sob as Tara collapses her shield thankful for the reprieve on her stores as it had just started to become a drain.
Buffy staking a vamp from behind as she goes to join the fight calls out, “Need a hand, Ladies?” while lopping off the head of another vamp without breaking her stride at all.
With a laugh Faith answers, “Yeah, B – sorry to start the party without you!” even as she takes out another of their undead foes.
Quickly eliminating all but one of the vampires, this one seeming to stay to the outside of the fighting the four women round on him as Adara says, “We need to question this one.”
Thinking that his time may have just ran out the last vamp goes to flee but Tara quickly whispers, “Web of steel to hold so tight bring this creature to the light.”
Watching as ropes of light surround the fleeing vamp, to wrap around him securely and pick him up to carry him toward the gang, Faith quips, “She’s so handy to have around.” causing Tara to give her a crooked smile as she brings the vamp in.
Depositing the vamp at their feet Tara shakes her head telling him, “You really shouldn’t struggle; the light will burn your flesh if it touch any.” Rolling her eyes at the dumb vamp who yelps in pain when sure enough one of the ropes of light grazes the back of his hand, Buffy cuffs him on the head saying, “She warned you, dumbass.”
Adara reaches a hand out to touch the cool expanse of his ridged forehead whispering, “Truth revealed of rotted mind, who would hire of your kind?” Growling against the pull he feels in his mind the vamp fights not to give up his employer’s name and grates out painfully, “Damn you Hunter!” Leaning to glare into his demon-yellow eyes the dark hunter grates back, “Nay demon, you be damned not I and the more hell
ye’ll pay if you do not speak now!”
Screaming at the white hot pokers of pain probing into his head the vamp finally pants out, “The Master of Touralain! It is he who seeks the destruction of your line. The bastard Weres first then each Hunter down the line. He will succeed too, you Hunter bitch! You’ll see!”
Releasing her mental hold on him Adara with haunted eyes breathes out, “To dust with him.” and Faith stakes him from behind causing Tara’s spell to dissipate as he turns to dust.
From her place beside Oz, Willow calls out frantically, “Buff – Oz is hurt really bad!” causing all four women to come to her and Faith says, “We can’t take him to the hospital, B.”
Nodding in agreement the blonde slayer eases Willow back then picks up the small man saying, “Back to the house. Giles will take care of him. Plus, I don’t want him anywhere but where we can protect him.” and she settles him easily in her arms to begin making her way toward home with the others following behind her.
