Awk-Chapter Twelve
Gunn felt horrible. He knew that everyone knew what happened from the evil looks he’d been getting. What he didn’t understand was, why wasn’t she mad at Faith? They’d come back into the bar together looking chummy, and it kind of made him mad. He knew he had no right to be mad, because Faith hadn’t liked his advances. He was still unclear on why he did it himself. It was the weirdest thing, because he really liked Talia, now she wouldn’t even look at him. He was sitting on Wesley’s couch. They all meet over at his house now. Lorne kept giving him this terrible look, until he finally grabbed a chair and pulled it in front of him, and sat down.
" Do you know how big of an idiot you are?" Gunn sighed, he really didn’t want to hear this right now.
" Lorne, I know what I did. Hell, I’m the one who did it. Can you please spare me the lecture I know is coming?" Lorne crossed his arms.
" Look here boyo, you’re lucky I’m not hitting you upside the head. She’s a special girl, and I know you have feelings for her. It was a very stupid thing to do, and you’ve blown every chance you had with her. Granted she’s on the right path now, but you could have changed her path, it was right there."
Gunn sat up, and glared at Lorne. He knew everyone was mad at him. It was just obvious from the death glares he kept getting.
" What do you mean she’s on her path now?" Lorne just smiled at him, and crossed her arms.
" She’s about to meet the guy she’s supposed to be with. Technically she’s already met him, but can you say ‘ here comes the bride’?" Gunn’s mouth dropped open, and Lorne just smiled and walked away.

Buffy and Angel were in the basement of Wesley’s apartment building. He’d turned it into a gym of sorts, and all of them had taken turns working out in it. Angel and Buffy were sparring, when Buffy stopped what she was doing.
" Angel, do you ever think about it?" Angel stopped what he was doing, and turned to look at her.
" Do I think about what? I thought we were gonna spar, not chit chat" Buffy could tell he was kidding, or she would have gotten offended.
" Well, lately it’s all I think about it. It’s like I can’t stop thinking about that day, and I can’t even imagine what it was like for you. I wanna know how you carried around that memory for this long, without it destroying you."
Angel sighed, because he just realized what she was talking about. It was strange that she remembered it now. They’d discussed it when she’d come to see him after she’d come back. It had shocked him then to know she knew. She wasn’t supposed to, it was only supposed to be him that remembered.
" I know what you mean, Buffy, but I’ve sorta learned to cope with it. I have to bear stuff like this all the time." She sighed and moved closer to him.
" Don’t you understand, that you shouldn’t have to carry this stuff alone, Angel? That’s why you have friends, so they can lessen the load." Angel moved closer to her, which had them less then a foot away from each other.
" It’s what I’m used to, Buffy. You shouldn’t have to carry this, because you already carry enough." Buffy smiled when he said this.
" Well, do you ever think it can happen again? I mean I remember every little detail that happened, and I’ll always cherish that day. I guess I’ve just been wondering if it’s possible for it to happen again." Angel smirked at her. He’d forgotten that she didn’t know about the shanshu prophecy. He’d just never gotten around to telling her about it.
" Well, there is something–" Before he could finish his sentence the door swung open, and Faith and Talia walked in. Faith was the one who spoke up.
" Hey, you guys were supposed to wait on us!" Buffy glared at the two girls, but looked back over at Angel.
" You were saying?" He just grinned at her.
" There’s plenty of time for that, lets get to training our newest Slayer, shall we?" Buffy huffed, but really did look forward to catching up with Talia."

Willow was so happy that Oz was awake, and he was going to be able to come home in a few days. She was sitting in his hospital room, waiting on them to return from doing tests. She didn’t know really where this was going to go, right now she was just happy that he was okay. It was true that she had very strong feelings for him, but she didn’t know if she could go there again. Plus the whole fact that she was gay. It had disturbed her how easily she could see herself with him again. Maybe Tara was the only girl she’d ever love, because it was obvious now that she didn’t love Kennedy. Willow was deep in thought when they brought Oz back in a wheelchair.
" Hey Willow, you look deep in thought." She jerked up, pulled out of her thoughts.
" Oz! Hey, how are feeling? You look great, but in pain, and again with the rambling." Oz just smiled at her. He used to tell her how much he loved her rambling. He’d never stop her when she’d asked him to.
" I’m good. Head’s still a little woozy, but I’m good." She smiled at him. The orderly helped him back into bed, and left them alone.
" I was so worried about you. I really don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t woke up. You have to promise me to never get hurt again." Oz grinned at her.
" I can’t promise that. I’m not going to voluntarily get hurt now, but still can’t promise that. It’s good to know you care Willow." Willow walked over to him and put her hand in his. She was getting very attached to having him around again, and didn’t want him to leave.
" You’re gonna stay, right? You’re not gonna leave when you get better?" Oz sighed. He didn’t want to be in the way, and with him being in the hospital it was sorta obvious he’d gotten in the way. They’d never tell him that, though.
" I’ll stay, wils." She grinned real big, and sat down on his bed.

Talia felt great, and it was very surprising. She didn’t think she’d get over the Gunn thing this easily, but she had. Oh it still annoyed her at what a guy he’d been, but she wasn’t heartbroken or anything. She had taken a shower and was looking for food. She went into Wesley’s kitchen, which had turned into the new headquarters, and encountered Xander. He was sitting at the table reading one of Wesley’s books, and looked up when he heard her.
" Well hey there, care to join me in the boredom?" She smiled. She really did like Xander, he was very friendly, and not to mention funny.
" Sure why not? First, I have to find food, cause I’m starved." He smiled.
" I just ordered a pizza, it should be here soon. Feel free to have some when it gets here, I did order seven of them." She gawked at him.
" You ordered seven pizzas?! Why on earth did you do that?" He shrugged.
" Well there are a lot of us here, and us men can eat a lot." He noticed her frown when he made this comment.
" I know men are evil, I’ve heard it several times before." She grinned at him.
" That they are, I’m in total agreement with you there. You don’t seem like your evil, though." He shrugged.
" I have my moments." She sat down at the table next to him and grabbed the book he’d been looking at. He faux huffed at her.
" Hey, that’s my book, get your own."
Saying this he snatched the stolen book from her fingers. They began laughing and tickling each other. When she went to reach for the book the final time it was over Xander’s head. As she was leaning forward to grab it, their lips met. The kiss was a frenzy of hormones, and the book was quickly forgotten and dropped. Talia wrapped her arms around Xander’s neck, slightly moaning as she did this. Xander matched her motions, causing her to straddle him in the chair. It wasn't until they heard someone clearing their throat that they realized they weren’t alone. They looked up to find Faith, Wesley, Fred, Gunn, and Lorne standing the doorway. Fred was trying not giggle, Gunn stormed out of the room, Wesley just looked uncomfortable, while Lorne went to the fridge whistling a happy tune.
" Do you know how big of an idiot you are?" Gunn sighed, he really didn’t want to hear this right now.
