Chapter Twenty

Buffy didn't know why, but she was really glad to see Riley. " I'll be right with you, Riley." After saying this, she grabbed Drusilla, who was trying to inch away. She grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the wall. " Okay Dru, where are my friends?" Drusilla just started to giggle at Buffy. She really hated Dru. She was just one of those things, that you couldn't seem to get rid of no matter how hard you tried. Buffy pulled out her stake, and was about to finally kill her when Giles stopped her. " Er, Buffy we're fine." Buffy threw Drusilla at Riley, who caught her, to run over to Giles. " Giles, you've got to stop putting yourself in these life or death situations, it's really starting to take it's toll on me. Now, please tell me what the hell happened!"

" Well, we didn't ask who it was, because we thought it was you. We tried to stop her from coming in, but she knocked Oz and I out it would seem." Buffy sighed. She really was getting tired of this. Maybe she could get the council to somehow take her powers away, but no that wouldn't be good. " Okay, let's get some rope and tie her up." As they did this, she walked over to Riley. " How are you, Ri? You look like you've been doing well." He smiled at her. " Doing okay, actually. Wasn't expecting to run into your gang here. Uber bitch here, killed some of my men, and please tell me your not still dating Spike." She jerked her head up towards him. " I'm sorry, Buffy, I know it's none of my business, but it would bother me a lot if you were. If you want you can tell me to go to hell and I really wouldn't blame you. I just really don't like that guy. He's so annoying, and grates on the nerves. Okay, I'll stop now."

Buffy looked up to face him completely. " What?! God, no, I'm not dating him anymore! Well, not really, anyway. He's good now, Riley, he has a soul and everything. He actually saved us all, you know? Not to even mention the fact that he destroyed the Hellmouth! Riley nodded. "Is that right? I think your boyfriend must have lost his soul." Riley walked over to where Drusilla was sitting and put his hands on the back of her chair. Grinning rather cynically at Buffy, he stated, "She's been saying that Spike sent for her, and I'm thinking that can't be a good thing." Buffy didn't know what to think with that statement. She became quite pale at the thought that Spike would even want Dru anywhere near him. She'd fought side by side with him for so long, that she'd forgotten completely about his past love for Drusilla. Buffy thought herself stupid that she could have trusted Spike and 'almost' loved him. Turning around, stomping very loudly, she screamed, "SPIKE!"

Gunn was still reeling from what Talia had said. He'd parked her in his apartment for now, until he spoke with Angel. This girl was beautiful! She had red hair, pretty brown eyes; she was simply all around gorgeous. Was this who Whistler was talking about? He'd be interested to find out. He was a little worried about this whole demon thing, though he still wondering just why they were after her in the first place. Gunn toyed with the idea of taking her to meet with Lorne and maybe he could get some answers then about what he was up against.

Willow was very upset. Kennedy had stormed out two hours ago and hadn't been heard from since then. The things she'd been saying about Buffy had really bothered her. Buffy was her best friend, well, besides Xander, and her girlfriend was saying mean things about her. She really missed Tara at times like this. Tara would never challenge Buffy or call her stupid names. Tara was sweet-natured, and dammit, she should still be here! What happened to her still bothered Willow at times, but as time went by, it was easier to deal. Buffy burst through the front door of her apartment. She was severly pissed off it seemed! She couldn't keep from remembering what Riley had said. Spike and SENT for Drusilla? What the hell was he thinking?? If and when she found him, he was going to be a great, big, pile of dust if he couldn't give her a really, REALLY good explanation. Drusilla had attacked Buffy's friends! Oh......she'd get him, alright!

Dawn had stayed at Spike's place, but he was totally ignoring her! "Andrew, aren't you gonna come over and talk to me?" He glanced at her and said, "I guess." Riley smiled at her. "Trouble in Paradise, Dawnie?" She glared back at Riley and spouted, "He's being so stupid! He won't talk to me, and when he does, he treats me like a kid. If you ask me, that's not a healthy relationship, or am I totally way off base on this?" Riley couldn't help but chuckle at the youngest Summers girl. "Dawn, it does take time to find the right person. In all fairness to Andrew, you Summers chicks are very intimidating. I had to practice a hundred times before I could even approach her." Dawn just looked more upset. "Yeah, but you at least talked to Buffy, once you got up your nerve, that is. You had to have talked to Sam, too. It's just really frustrating, and I don't know what to do about it." Andrew didn't like being talked about. Why was she even talking about this stuff to Commando Guy anyway? Surely she had to know someone that was ugly. "Hey, Dawn, can I talk to you for a minute?" She looked up hopefully and walked over to him.

The Next Morning

The next morning Buffy woke up on the couch. She didn't even remember lying down here. She got up and walked around. Dawn ambled into the kitchen, but she was very sad-looking. She sat down at Buffy's table and started crying almost immediately. Buffy ran over to her to find out what was wrong with her little sister. "Dawnie, what's the matter?" Dawn looked up at her sister with tears running down her face.

"Andrew broke up with me!"
