Crash
At the sound of the loud growl behind him Xander looked carefully in the driving mirror.
He needed to know if the person standing behind the car was only some viewer walking by who had gotten curious at the noice he had made or if it was the owner of the car.
Or even worse if it was a cop.
Although he hadn´t bad eyesight, was it still pretty dark so he couldn´t see very much but it looked like the character was a male with short blonde hair, dressed in leather.
At first Xander began to relax when he noticed that it wasn´t a police officer but as the stranger moved towards him, and Xander saw a glimpse of his face, he lost all the calm. This stranger was a vampire. He panicked and only wanted to get away.
He pressed with his foot against the gas pedal as hard as he could in the hope of making the car driving faster.
He only got a few meters before suddenly someone was standing on the street directly in front of his car.
Xander knew that if he stopped now, he would be caught and probably be thrown in jail.
So he tried to drive around this man, in the end he couldn´t let someone else get hurt because of mistakes he had made. He was the criminal here and not this man standing before him. And it would be better to rot in prison than to get away at the cost of an innocent life.
In the last second he managed to avoid the man on the street but then the car skidded because he had gotten on a part of the street where still black ice was.
Because of the high speed he was driving with, his car was sent into a tailspin and he saw how a solid wall of a house was coming closer and closer.
Xanders last thought before he crashed into the wall was, `Oh god, what have I done to deserve this`, and then everything around him went black.
