Chapter 13
Chapter Thirteen
The loud knocking jerked Xander up in bed, his body nodding back and forth as dreams once again tried to overtake him. A second round of knocking brought his eyes open and he blinked slowly, before calling out in a sleep-raspy voice, “Yeah, gimme a sec.”
Baby blue eyes looked dazedly at him through half-lidded eyes and he smiled, brushing a kiss over the boy’s forehead. “Go back to sleep, baby.” Stepping out of bed, he stretched his arms over his head, working out the kinks in his back and yawned so wide his jaws popped. Spike’s eyes slowly heated as he looked him up and down hungrily and Xander had a feeling that they wouldn’t be going back to sleep after he got rid of whoever was at the door.
Yesterday’s old jeans went on over rapidly-cooling, naked skin and he walked to the door, opening it quietly. He blinked, and then maneuvered his big body so that no part of the room could be seen.
“Willow! What, I mean…were you wanting something?” he croaked out, feeling a guilty flush cover his cheeks at the thought of what he had done with her brother only hours ago. It was almost like your mom walking in on you. He shivered at the thought and realized her face was just as red as his.
She squeaked and he looked down, noticing for the first time his bare chest with four long scratches on his left side that wrapped around to his back, the faint love bites covering the taut skin under his collarbone, the jeans that hung low and unbuttoned. Shit, he moaned out in his head, feeling himself flush even more.
I’m practically flashing my lover’s little sister while I’m covered in the marks he’s made on me. This is gonna go over really well if she ever finds out we’re together.
“D-do you know wh-where William, I mean Spike, went?” she finally stuttered out, trying to keep her eyes above his chest.
And his mind went completely blank. Even though he knew he should have expected the question, because hello? Spike was her brother and why else would she be knocking on his door at midnight?
“Ahh.. I think he might have um.. gone to get some cigarettes?” he mumbled out, almost flinching when she frowned in disbelief. “He couldn’t wait till in the morning?” she asked, incredulously.
“Um..,” he started, but a warm palm gripping his shoulder made him jerk and he looked sheepishly at Spike as the younger man edged his way around him.
“S’ok, luv, I don’t ever want you to have to lie for me,” the boy murmured, kissing him softly on his rough unshaven cheek. There was gratitude and a kind of quiet resignation in the blue eyes and Xander sighed, turning to shrug abashedly at Willow.
She gaped at her brother, green eyes flickering from one half-naked man to the other, and squeaked again. Spike turned apologetic and pleading eyes to Xander and he nodded, backing up into the room. The boy obviously wanted to speak to his sister alone, and as much as Xander wanted to hear that conversation, wanted to know how his lover would explain him to his sister, he had to respect that.
Before he shut the door, he watched anxiously as Spike grabbed the red-head’s hand and tugged her into his hotel room across the hall. She turned one last time to gape at Xander and then let Spike pull her into the room and close the door behind them.
Closing his own door, Xander braced his back against it and sighed deeply. He really hoped whatever went on in that room wouldn’t eventually keep the boy from coming back to him.

Tugging on a t-shirt, Spike turned away from his sister and paced as Willow watched him from the edge of the bed with a look of half astonishment and half pain in her eyes. He knew she was hurt that he hadn’t told her, and although she would understand why, it would still sting.
The last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt her, his savior, his only real family. Or Xander.
He never, ever wanted to hurt Xander.
Whirling around to face her, he hunched his shoulders and shoved his hands deep into the pockets of his jeans. He had never discussed his lovers with Willow, but his sleeping with their teenage idol wasn’t something he should have hidden from her. It wasn’t even that that was bothering her, he knew, it was the reminder that as close as they were, there were still boundaries they didn’t, couldn’t, cross.
“I’m sorry, Will. It’s just still so new, only been a couple of weeks. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to tell you…,” his voice trailed off as she stood abruptly and came over to him, wrapping him tight in her arms.
“I know, William…I understand,” she whispered in his ear, stroking his back gently.
“I know how scary this must be, please don’t ever feel guilty for not wanting to rip open old wounds, honey. There’ve always been things we could never talk about. I understand that, and I hope, in time, it will change. But even though I love you and want you to be able to confide in me, I have no right to be upset at you over this. You don’t need to feel guilty.”
He started trembling at the total acceptance and understanding in her voice, long held-in tension easing and he clung to her. They stood close, his cheek resting on the top of her silky hair as his body shook and she wrapped her arms tight around him, riding out the pain they both felt.
It brought back memories of other times, worse times, though. After a few minutes they both backed away uncomfortably, neither knowing what to say. Spike cursed the past, hating that it could take an innocent healing embrace between siblings and turn it into a landmine of guilt, sorrow and pain.
Maybe someday it would all wash away and a simple touch could be just that again, simple. But for now, he knew they had to back away from the tense emotions swirling around them and he grinned crookedly at her.
“Wanna hear how hot he is in bed?”
She squealed and fell backwards on the bed, reaching for a pillow to toss at his head as her face flushed blood red. “God, William, I already saw far more than I ever wanted to!”
He snickered and looked at her from under his dark eyelashes as he rocked back and forth on the heels of his bare feet. “That’s not how I remember it, pet. I remember you ogling his magazine pictures and wondering what he would look like naked.”
“I DID NOT! You take that back, Mister! That was you, all you,” she yelled, giggling madly. After a moments pause, she peeked at him from the corners of her eyes and asked quietly, “Does he make you happy, William?”
His face sobered and he sat beside her on the end of the bed. Pulling his knees up to rest his chin on, he nodded. “Yeah, he really does. It’s scary, so fucking scary, but I’m happy.”
“Good.”
They looked at each other and a slow smirk tugged at her lips. “Sooo.. how hot is he in bed?”
***
Xander looked up at the second round of knocking that had shaken his door that night. Frowning, he sat the book he had been reading down on the nightstand and walked back over to open the door.
Two giggling, smirking faces with sparkling eyes looked back at him, holding a huge pizza box from the all-night restaurant down the street. At his arched brow, Spike just grinned at him and thrust the greasy box into his hands as they brushed by him into the room.
His stomach rumbled from the delicious smells coming from the box and he took it to the small kitchen. At least he was dressed this time, he thought, trying to ignore the smoldering looks from Spike and the appraising ones from Willow.
Wonder if they got into Spike’s stash of whiskey while they were in there. They were certainly acting strangely.
Turning to get some napkins, he almost stumbled over Spike. They had followed him into the small kitchen, and he told Spike to get some cokes out of the fridge, then shooed them out. “You two go on in, it’s too crowded in here for all of us,” he laughed, trying to edge around Willow to get the napkins.
He followed them to the living room and placed the box on the glass table, wincing at the thought of what the cleaning crew was going to say, but there just wasn’t anywhere else to put it. Spike’s laughing eyes told him the brat knew exactly what he was thinking and was mentally mocking him for it.
Scowling at the blonde, he slumped down on the couch and opened the box, groaning at the sight of the fully loaded pizza. Soon, all three were devouring it, and Xander almost forgot the uneasy, jealous and confused feelings that were whirling around inside of him. Almost.
Uneasy, because try as he might, he just couldn’t be comfortable with his lover’s sister sitting on the same chair he had sat naked in a few nights ago, letting Spike ride him slow and easy until they were both near-screaming from the leisurely built-up pleasure. Uneasy, because he was sitting mere feet from his lover’s sister on the couch that he had bent Spike over, driving rough and fast into him until the boy had nearly climbed over the thing as his need had built, begging Xander to go harder in a voice raw from his throaty cries.
Uneasy, because now he was trying to hide his hard-on from his lover’s sister because remembering why he was uneasy had made him want to make more memories to be uncomfortable over later.
That and watching Spike lick pizza sauce from those soft pouty lips of his. Shivering, he suppressed a groan and brought his mind back under control.
The jealousy was easy to figure out. Even with Willow knowing about them now, Spike still tried not to look at him, didn’t touch him or come near him. He was sitting in the floor by Willow’s chair, his back against one of her knees.
Xander wanted him where he could touch him, feel that soft pale skin under his fingertips, that silky mess of curls under his palm. It was so hard being close but not being able to touch, but he wouldn’t. Because he could also see the boy’s agitation and knew that even though he was playing around and smiling, the boy was uncomfortable.
The confusion stemmed from all of that, combined with the feeling that all was not right with the pair of siblings, either. There was a hesitancy between them that hadn’t been there earlier.
At the sound of Spike’s voice, he pulled his mind off of his thoughts and looked up.
“It’s only about eleven on the west coast, I’m sure he’s still up,” the blonde was saying, pushing buttons on his black cell phone. Xander frowned, wishing he had been paying better attention, because he had no idea who Spike was talking about.
“Angel! No, I’m not crazy, since when do you go to bed before midnight?”
Ah, Angel then. Wonder what he was calling him for?
A disgruntled look came across Spike’s face and Xander had to grin, it was so adorable. “Well fuck, you could have told me I was keeping you up too late when we were out, mate. Yeah, yeah, you too. Listen-,” Spike sighed and brought the phone away from his ear to scowl at it.
Speaking into it again, he huffed out, “If you would shut your gob, ponce, I’d tell you why I was callin’! Yeah, I’d like to see you try.” A pause. “Okay, okay. I need to know if you know of any good apartments for rent down there.”
Xander’s heart fell. What the fuck was going on? Obviously, Angel was wondering the same thing, because Spike chuckled into the phone and answered, “Calm down, pet! No, I ain’t quittin’ racing to come shack up with you. My sister.. NO! My sister ain’t shackin’ up with you, either, Angel. You need to get laid, man.”
Willow stared at the blonde with huge eyes and Xander tried to swallow his chuckle. The possessive fire streaming through his body at the sound of Spike flirting with the other man helped a lot.
Ignoring the stares directed his way, Spike purred into the phone, “Oh, luv, you know me better than that. I’d have to say it would be the other way around. Don’t tell me you haven’t thought about it.” Xander was unable to help the growl rumbling out of his chest and Spike’s head jerked up, eyes going wide.
A chagrined look crossed his face and he flushed, coughing, before saying quickly into the phone, “Yeah, pet, look I really need you to start looking for a good apartment for my sister. She’s gonna be going to college around there and while she can stay with our Aunt a bit for now, she’s gonna need something of her own, yknow. Okay, thanks, pet. Sorry for waking ya up ‘n all. Yeah, you too. Night.”
As he turned the phone off, Willow’s eyes flickered back and forth between them, wide and anxious. She obviously hadn’t followed the conversation as well as he had, he knew every nuance in Spike’s voice by now, but she did know there was a tension in the air.
His dark, heated eyes staring daggers into Spike’s mischievous blue ones, he watched as the younger man tried to keep the pleased grin off of his face. Cheeky little brat.
Totally forgetting, ignoring, Willow was in the room, he raised his hand and crooked a finger at the insolent boy. A slow smile crossed his face as Spike stood and sauntered over, all liquid grace and sultry eyes. Grabbing one of the boy’s wrists, he yanked the blonde down sharply to straddle him where he was reclining on the couch.
“Mine,” he growled, before his other hand clasped the younger man’s nape and brought his head down so that Xander could kiss him senseless. Long moments of silken lips and heated tongues passed before a low cough from Willow slowly separated them. Xander traced the boy’s swollen lips with his tongue one last time before shifting the dazed blonde to sit on the couch beside of him.
At Willow’s huge questioning eyes, Xander flushed and stood abruptly. “I’ll, ah.. take the box back to the kitchen and put the left over pizza in the fridge.” As he was about to slip into the kitchen, he heard a cell phone ring, and he almost growled again at the thought of Angel.
Before he could turn and walk back into the living room, though, he heard Willow’s voice answer it. Content that Spike wasn’t going to be flirting outrageously with anyone else that night, he continued on into the small kitchen, leaving Willow to talk in semi-private with whoever it was that had called her.
Which was fine, until he heard her voice raised in frustration and heard Spike’s loud curse.
The loud knocking jerked Xander up in bed, his body nodding back and forth as dreams once again tried to overtake him. A second round of knocking brought his eyes open and he blinked slowly, before calling out in a sleep-raspy voice, “Yeah, gimme a sec.”
