Summary: Dru claims Xander as her consort.
The stars were singing. Her dark kitten was in trouble and she had to go to him. She didn't like what they were telling her. She left her canopy of trees and set out to find her dark kitten. Ever since she had seen him, she had known he was her’s no matter what Daddy or Spike said.
When she arrived in Sunnydale, she set out to search for him. She found him looking at the house he used to live in. He had just turned nineteen, and everyone had forgotten his birthday. Even Willow, who claimed to have been his best friend since Kindergarten. With a sad sigh, he turned to walk away when he felt a presence behind him. He frowned; it felt familiar, like something was slowly filling up the part of him that he was missing. And he was slowly being filled up.
He turned to see Drusilla, and as she walked up to him he smiled. He knew there was more to her than people thought. Yes, she was crazy, but within that insanity was a very beautiful woman. He was afraid for her because if Buffy found out she was in town, she would stake her. He looked at her and smiled. It was the first real smile he’d had in days. He pulled her into his arms and started to cry.
Drusilla comforted him and told him that everything would be ok now that Mummy was here. Xander took her back to his apartment, knowing somehow that he wouldn't be staying in Sunnydale. All his friends had turned their backs on him, and he knew Drusilla wouldn't hurt him at all.
Spike was walking the streets of Sunnydale just after sunset the next night, heading for the Watcher’s to get some blood, when he noticed Xander helping someone into a car. He watched as it pulled out and only caught a glimpse of the passenger in the other seat. She seemed familiar somehow. Damn this chip it screwed up more than just his ability to feed. It threw off his sense of smell as well. He would figure this out. Spike knew that if she hadn’t been in the shadows he would have known who it was. He continued on to the Watcher's thinking about whom he had seen in the car. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he knew her. He noticed that the whelp hadn’t shown up either, and no one had mentioned him. After the meeting, he decided to go over to Xander’s to find out what was going on. The minute he got to the apartment, the smell hit him. He knew who had been in the car. His sire, Drusilla. He forced the door open and went inside. She had been there and there was no sign of Xander anywhere. All his clothes where gone. He needed to call Angel. Dru had taken something that belonged to him. He picked up the phone and dialed his grandsire’s number.
Angel could feel something was going to happen, and it wasn’t going to very good. He had been getting this feeling now for days. Everyone thought he was brooding. He just couldn’t ignore that something terrible was going to happen. In the distance, he heard the phone ring and Cordelia pick up.
“Angel phone,” she called from downstairs.
He got up and went downstairs to answer it. “Cordelia, who is it?”
She looked at him and snorted. “Spike.”
Angel sighed; he just was not up to Spike’s games tonight. “I’ll take it in my office.” As he picked up the phone, the feeling that something was wrong got stronger. “What is it Spike?” Angel asked.
What Spike said next, Angel couldn’t believe. Drusilla had Xander. He closed his eyes and knew that this was going to be a lot of trouble. If Dru had Xander, he felt that Xander hadn't gone willingly. He had to find his crazy childe and do what he should have done a long time ago. There was one question he needed to ask. “Do Buffy and the rest know that Dru has Xander?” He waited for Spike’s response, and what he got he didn’t like.
“No. They didn’t even know he was gone.”
“I’ll be in Sunnydale in a couple of hours,”he told Spike, hoping he would listen to reason. As he hung up, he wondered what he should tell Cordelia and the others. They needed to be told.
When he walked into the lobby, everyone was there. Cordelia was the first to speak up.
“Well, what did the Bleached Menace want?”
Angel sighed and closed his eyes to get his thoughts together. He opened them and looked at her, then the rest of them. “Drusilla has Xander.”
The shockwave that went through the room made it feel like the whole world had stopped. Cordelia came to her senses first. “Excuse me; did you just say that Drusilla has Xander? Your crazy childe? The one who would kill you as to look at you? That Drusilla?”
By this time he could feel her anger. Angel wondered if it was towards him for creating Drusilla, Xander for getting caught by her, or Buffy for not staking her when she had the chance. He proceeded to tell them he was going to Sunnydale to talk to Spike, and to let everyone know what had happened.
Xander was driving; all he knew was that Dru had told him where to go. They had entered Mexico some time ago. She was asleep in the trunk of the car now, and they had been driving non-stop since they had left Sunnydale. He thought about what had taken place over the past couple of weeks. First, Anya had left him, and then Buffy and Willow had found out that he had lied to them about the spell and had sent Angel to hell. Spike had also been giving him a hard time. He just couldn’t take it anymore.
He had always felt like something was missing in his life, but he just wasn’t sure of what it was that had been missing. Not until she showed up, anyway. He had been able to release everything with her. To tell her what had happened with Anya, with his friends, and with Spike. He hadn't been afraid to hold back his tears, not with her. She had held him and let him know that he was safe, and that she wouldn’t hurt him. He believed her. She was beautiful, even though she talked to the stars and her doll, Miss Edith. She reminded him of a child that needed to be protected, and he promised himself that he would.
Dru had stood there, holding him in her arms, listening to what he had to say, and letting him cry. As she had been comforting him, she had started to hum. Xander had watched her, wondering why she was singing. She had started to stare at him with a slight giggle. “The stars tell me such wonderful things.” Xander stared at her bewildered and slightly confused. “What do they tell you?” Dru kept her eyes on him and giggled a bit more, pulling him into her arms. “They tell me of trees and long life and sisters.” Xander thought about something Spike had said about Dru in that she was a Seer. Xander started to smile the tiniest bit at her. He would figure this out.
Xander noticed the sun setting, and pulled to the side of the road to watch the last rays disappear over the horizon. He walked around to the trunk of the car and helped her out. Drusilla pulled him to her and kissed him gently. He smiled at her as she climbed back into the car, Xander got in behind the wheel of the car.
She looked at him and smiled as he handed her a bag of blood. “The stars tell me I must keep you safe. Daddy, Spike, and the nasty Slayer along with the Witch are coming for you. My tree canopy will keep you safe.” Xander frowned; he didn’t like the idea of them looking for him. He squeezed her hand and looked at her, worried what would happen when they showed up. He knew they still had at least two days to get to their destination. And he would protect her.
Angel pulled up outside of Xander’s apartment. Spike was there waiting for him. He was pacing back and forth smoking. From the number of butts on the ground, it looked like he had gone through at least a pack.
Spike looked up and snarled, “It’s about bloody time you got here.”
Spike climbed into the car and Angel pulled away from the curb. Angel didn’t say anything, so Spike looked at him and frowned. “Where are we going?”
Angel looked over at him. “To see Giles and the rest of them.” Spike snarled again, but didn't say anything.
They pulled up at the Watcher’s apartment and went up to the door and knocked. They heard movement inside, and then a voice saying he would be right there. Giles opened the door; a crossbow aimed at whatever was on the other side, and was surprised to see Angel and Spike. “Angel, Spike, what are you doing here at this hour? Is everything ok in L.A.?”
Angel sighed. “Yes, everything is fine there, but we need to talk. Can we come in? It is important.” Angel looked at him, waiting for an answer.
“Oh sorry, yes, do come in. What seems to be the problem?”
“Before I say anything, you should get Buffy and Willow over here. It concerns them, as well.”
Giles looked the two Vampires over very closely, and saw the worried look on Angel’s face and the anger and frustration on Spike’s. This concerned him. He called both of the girls and told them that they needed to come over, and that something had happened.
No one said a word. The tension in the air was thick, so thick one could cut it with a knife. When Buffy and Willow showed up, Angel knew all hell was going to break loose. Their knock came about ten minutes after the phone call. When Buffy walked into the room, she saw Angel and wondered what he was doing there.
“Angel, what’s going on? Has something happened in L.A.? Do you need my help?”
Angel looked at her, not sure how to tell her. Spike saved him the trouble. “Dru’s got the whelp.”
The minute he said it, Giles, Buffy and Willow just stood there with stunned looks on their faces. Buffy came to her senses first. “This is some kind of joke, right? Tell me it is a joke.”
While Buffy was saying this, Willow collapsed onto the couch, and Giles glanced over at the two of them and knew they were telling the truth. Sighing he asked “Where would she take him?”
Spike looked at him. “South America, about two days outside of Rio.” He thought about this. “They are probably almost there by now.” Giles stared at him. “How can you be sure of this?”
Spike growled at the Watcher. “I don’t, but if they stopped only when they needed to, and they left yesterday at sunset, then yeah, they are probably half-way there by now.”
Buffy looked at him angrily. “You saw them yesterday and didn’t say anything?”
Spike looked at her and sighed. “Look, I saw the whelp with a girl that looked familiar. I couldn’t see her that well since she was in the shadows. They drove off together. I couldn’t shake this feeling that I knew her. I decided to check on him, seeing as you lot haven’t bothered with him. When I got to his place, I knew who she was.”
Willow at this point, looked at him. “How do you know it was her if you couldn’t see her very well?”
Spike, just smiled. “I could smell her, and her perfume was all over the apartment.”
Giles thought about the situation, Watching the group argue about the fact that Spike saw Drusilla with Xander. “We need to make flight arrangements for Rio.”
Angel at this point said to him. “One problem the sun.”
Willow thought for a minute, and then said, “I came across a spell recently that lets Vampires walk in the sun for three days.” Giles went to make the reservations as Willow gathered the items for the spell. She hoped they weren’t too late in getting to him.
Xander and Dru pulled into the compound where she lived. On the trip down she had explained to him about a ritual she needed to do that would bind him to her for a long time. The only drawback was that if one was killed, the other would die. He had thought about it and had realized that he cared for her a lot and so he had agreed to it.
They got out of the car and walked into the jungle, arriving at what looked like a small abandoned village. In the center was a large structure that had seen better days. They entered the structure, and Xander was surprised at what he saw. The main room had a huge couch with small tables at both ends. Each one held matching lamps. In front of the couch was a coffee table that was the length of the couch. On both ends where overstuffed chairs, and directly in front of the couch was a movie sized flat screen T.V. Along one wall were several bookcases filled with books, movies and music.
Everywhere he turned, there were plants of every kind. The living room had an attached dining room and open kitchen. He looked at Dru, and she giggled and looked at Miss Edith. “I told you he would like it.” She took his hand and looked at him. “Are you ready? Daddy is coming to take you from me.”
Xander stared at her and knew this would change his life forever. Did he love her? Yes he did. Would he give up everything for her? Yes he would. He looked at her and nodded his head yes.
They walked into the bedroom, and as he wandered around the room, Dru got the items she needed. He noticed that the bed was a king sized bed with a nightstand on either side. They also had matching lamps, as well. On one wall was another bookshelf that was full of books. A dresser and small chest of drawers were on the other wall. Next to what he thought was the bathroom was a large walk-in closet. He turned and stared at her and noticed she had no clothes on. He watched her, and couldn’t help but stare at her. She was beautiful. She looked at him and told him that he too, must get undressed. As he undressed, he couldn’t take his eyes off of her.
She led him to the bed and bit her wrist. Putting it to his mouth, she began to chant. When she had finished, she let her fangs drop and sunk them into his neck. Xander watched mesmerized at what she was doing. He didn’t feel the fangs going in and his blood being pulled from him. All he felt was a connection with her. She pulled away and gave him a drink that would seal them together permanently.
After drinking it, she made love with him, taking more of his blood. As she was doing this, he bit her and started to drink her blood. By doing this, they had made a complete circle that would bind them forever. The orgasm that hit him sent him over the edge and into oblivion.
Dru got up, cleaned her Consort, and whispered, “Mine.” She watched over him, and then the stars started to sing, letting her know that Daddy, Spike, the witch, and the quiet one were with the Slayer and her Watcher were there. The stars where telling her that the quiet one would be good company for her kitten, and she giggled at that. Little Tree would be upset. Before she left to meet them, she dressed and got together the ingredients she would need. It seemed that Little Tree had been bad and had used Magic on the quiet one.
She needed to break the spell and bind Little Tree’s magic. She looked at her kitten sleeping and smiled. When she left the house, Xander woke up and became concerned. He could feel her, but she was agitated. Getting dressed, he left the house and hid among the trees and listened to the argument going on.
**********************************************
As everyone entered the compound, they found themselves surrounded by both Vampires and Demons. They spotted Dru heading their way. As she stopped, she looked at them and smiled. Angel was the first one to speak up. “Dru, where is Xander?”
She smiled and looked at him. “Kitten? He’s safe. He belongs to me.”
At this, Spike became very angry. “Dru, luv, Angelus gave him to me. He’s mine. Not yours.”
Dru frowned and said to him, “Kitten told me how everyone treated him. The demon left him, the nasty slayer told him to get out because Daddy went through the big circle, Little Tree turned her back on him, and the watcher didn’t stop any of this. Quiet One has lost her voice in her head because of Little Tree.
Xander had heard enough. He stepped out and embraced Dru, his Mate. “Is there anything you can do for Tara?”
Hearing the sad voice, she turned to him and nodded yes. “Take her somewhere safe.”
When he reached out to take her hand, Willow was right there to stop him. “You are not taking her anywhere.” At this Tara looked at her and turned to Xander. “L-lets go.” As she pulled away from Willow, no one noticed Dru chanting.
Before anyone could do anything, Dru had put them all to sleep. She smiled and looked at her Daddy. “Daddy, take them home. They are not wanted here. I am Kitten’s Consort, and the quiet one will keep him company, and he will protect her.” Angel sighed and loaded everyone for the long trip home. He looked back at her standing there and said to her, “You do realize they might come back especially Spike?” Dru just smiled and said to her Daddy “He wants the Slayer more. The stars tell me of souls and fire to win her love.”
_________________________________________________________________________________________
It had been about a year now and Xander couldn’t believe how happy he was. When Dru had asked Tara to bind herself with them she didn’t hesitate. She knew it was the only way to protect herself from Willow. Spike at one point had showed up demanding both him and Tara, Spike was lucky to leave with his life.
Xander sat on the couch watching T.V. He was finally happy. Tara was safe. Xander helped out in the local villages, building houses, and Tara opened a school to teach the kids how to read and basic math. He couldn’t be happier.
