Kennedy’s Quest
Kennedy’s Quest
She had come to L.A. against all of Buffy’s bitching and empty threats. She knew that she would never see Willow again at least that is what she thought.
She knew that this was the one fight that the L.A. gang would have to stand-alone. This is why she stood in the shadows while the battle raged on. After the last hit was taken and the last scream was heard Kennedy walked into the ally with hope that Angel would be left standing. She had to have him alive so she could take him back to what would be Buffy’s last stand.
Standing in a dark ally way the young slayer looks around for survivors of the battle that just ended. She listened to the moans and cries of the dieing but paid no attention to them she was on the hunt for a vampire, friend of the fold, a man that she had never met.
Looking closely to what looked like an arm moving the slayer instantly pulled the stake from the side pocket of her car-go pants. With no peasants for waiting for the fight to come to her, she walked over grabbing at the arm pulling its owner to his feet.
It was Spike the vampire that was killed in Sunnydale. Kennedy opened her mouth to ask how he was alive but the feeling of not caring came over her. She turned to the pile next to where she had found the bleach blonde vampire and searched for her reason of being there.
“Kennedy?” Spike asked as he shook his head and dust fell to the ground. “What are you doing here?’ He asked with the voice of someone who cared.
“I’m looking for Angel did he make it?” She answered him with a question so she would not have to tell him why she was really there.
“I don’t know luv we just have to look.”
“Well start looking I don’t have time to waist and I sure the hell don’t have time to waist on you.”
“Well okay then...why are you here looking for Angel?”
“Didn’t I tell you...oh no so I guess you don’t need to know.”
“Here...I’m here.” a faint voice came from the pile of rubbish behind her.
“Angel?” Kennedy called
Spike ran to the pile and started to pull the vampire free from the rubbish that held him captive. Pulling Angel to his feet Spike smiled at his old friend.
“Are we the only ones alive here...who are you?” Angel asked the questions as he looked around for any move survivors.
“So far you to are the only ones I found. Then again I won’t know who I was looking for.” Kennedy told the two vampires as she helped them look for others of the gang.
“So who are you and why are you looking for me?” Angel asked as he found Gunn’s body.
“I’ll tell you later but not much later I have to get you back before it’s too late.” She told the older man. Kennedy took her spot at Gunn’s feet to help move the fallen warrior to a cleaner place. “Holly shit what is that thing!” She yelled as she stepped on a leg looking down she seen a green thing looking back at her.
“I’ll tell you if you get the hell off of me...oh pudden cakes you made it.” Loren said as he seen Angel.
“Can you get up?” Angel asked
“Yes but it would be easier if this girl would get off my leg.”
Kennedy moved to one side then helped lay Gunn to the ground. “I guess you know it so I’ll help it up.” She pulled Loren to his feet. “Can you walk?” She asked not waiting to see if he could. She turned to Angel and pointed to the opening of the ally. “If you don’t have any more friends and demons to save can we talk.” Again not waiting for an answer Kennedy strutted off to the rented car she parked at the opening.
“That’s Kennedy Willow’s new girl she’s the bad ass type” Spike filled the other two in as they walked to the car.
“We’ll have to leave Gunn here for now I want to know why Buffy sent one of her slayers here.”
“She didn’t I came alone and I don’t know if I can return but if I have you to help then Willow at least will forgive me.” The slayer told Angel as she drove off to the dinner she seen on the way to the battle. She had noticed that the dinner would let the green guy in and ask no question. She had seen at least three vampires in the dinner and two walking out of it she had stopped there right after dusk to wait. “Buffy forbid me to come she said I would not have a home if I went. I had to come to find you I can’t fight this battle alone and we have lost so many. Including Faith and Dawn.” She told them as they sat down in a booth.
“I couldn’t get anything out of Giles before we lost him I couldn’t get anything out of Willow she also told me I would not have a home to come back to.”
“Guess she’s done baking...cooked into a righteous bitch.” Angel looked out the window.
“Angel we have pig’s blood...Spike we don’t have human here so you’ll have to do with pigs.” The waiter said as he sat the blood down in front of the two vampires. Giles is gone how did he die?”
Looking up at the waiter Angel shook his head and then a large smile pulled on his face. “Oz...How long have you been in L.A.?” Jumping to his feet, he took the young man into a manly hug.
“Almost a year I stopped in Sunnydale to see Willow then I left to travel but ended up here.” He told the gang as Angel let him go. “So you worked with Buffy are you a slayer?” He asked Kennedy as he gave her a menu.
“Yeah I worked with her jack-assness and yeah I’m a slayer...going to tip off your friends in here.”
“No they were tipped off the first time you were in here.”
“I have to say Kennedy here is a lot like Faith so I would watch what you say or tell her.” Spike told Oz.
“Could be worse I could be just like Faith and died.” She snapped at Spike as she pointed at the menu showing Oz what she waited.
“Wait Faith is died?” Oz asked as he wrote down her order.
“Yes her, Dawn, Xander, Anya, Giles and about sixty of the slayers. They were all killed well Anya died in the battle against the First. But the others were killed by this thing we’ve been fighting for the last six months.”
“How did Faith get killed I don’t get it she has fought everything from everyday vamps to the First and never got a more than a scratch.” Angel said shaking his head in disbelief.
“She was protecting Dawn there was no time to get to either one of them they were gone in seconds.” Kennedy told the group with tears fighting to fall from her eyes. Chocking them back, she went on. “Xander was fighting to get to them when he was killed a son of a bitch took his head off. Then Willow ran from my side headstrong into the fight taking out four of them two that killed Faith and Dawn.” She was now unable to hold back the tears as she told the others about how the people she cared about was killed.
“Who’s the big bad?” Oz asked.
“We don’t know who is behind the attaches. We don’t know how to find the ringleader. Hell, most of the time we don’t even know when the attaches are coming. This one isn’t playing by the rule here at least with the First we had a heads up.”
“We’ll come back with you and help...not sure if we’re going to be welcome but we’re on board here.” Angel looked at the surviving members of his gang as he told the slayer she had his help.
“Let me put this order in then I’ll get my things I’m coming with.” Oz said as he ran off to put in their orders.
“How can they turn their backs on me now? I came for Angel and got another vampire, a green guy and an Oz.” Kennedy said as she turned her nose up watching Spike drink his blood.
“Could you use a God?”
They all turned to the voice at the door.
“What the hell...” Kennedy asked.
“Exactly” Angel said with a smile. Knowing this may be the one thing that could give them the upper hand.

I don’t have an idea for the big bad so if you do please feed back and I’ll take the best idea! I also don’t like the name so if you can come up with a better one let me know.
