Buffy/Faith
Chapter 1
Faith’s POV
Every night, I slay, with her, to make the world a better place, a safer place for those who cannot defend them selves, and I do my best, I try so hard not to go back to that dark place again, for her, and she still doesn’t trust me, she still has her guard up every time I’m around her, it totally sucks.
“ I think we are done for tonight, I’m gonna head home.” I turn to look at her as if I’m going to reply, and I choke, I always choke, I say ok, then walk the other way, when really I wanted to say, ‘wait, don’t go, not just yet, stay with me’. But I never do, I can never get the words out, yes, I’m afraid, big bad faith is afraid of Buffy, not because she is the slayer, and so much more experienced then me, im afraid of rejection, im afraid that she’ll run away from me and never speak to me again.
Next day.
Buffy, Giles, Xander, and Willow are having breakfast in Buffy’s kitchen, talking about there day plans, “ Buffy, after you have taken dawn to school, I think it would be a good idea for you and faith to train the girls some more.” Buffy suddenly looks disappointed at Giles’ idea, “ Well that’s a good idea, but I uh, I have to help willow out today, with uh, that thing, remember willow.” As Buffy turns to willow she kicks her leg under the table, hoping she will play along, “ Uh, what thing Buffy, I don’t recall you having to help me with anything.” Buffy gulps, and turns to Giles, “ Ok training it is, with faith” she finishes the last part with a thrown, and leaves the table, willow following behind, as they get upstairs, Buffy turns to willow, “ Why did you do that, I kicked you and everything, you were supposed to play along, now I have to spend the better part of the day with faith, what were you thinking wills?”
“Buffy, that is my friend, as much as I want to help you out on this whole thing, your gonna have to learn to work with faith, sooner rather than later, your going up against the First, and the only other strong people you have to help you is Spike, and well I guess me in a magical sense, which in that case you need all the muscle you can get, so just grit your teeth and play nice with faith ok?”
“ I guess your right, its just, I don’t trust her wills, she’s screwed me over so many times, it’s a like bad habit of hers.”
Willow gives Buffy a reassuring hug, and a smile, and heads off to college, I’ll take dawn with me, I’ll drop her off at school, it’ll give you time to prepare working with faith ok!”
“Ok, thanks wills”
With that, willow makes her way down the stairs and out the door. Buffy walks further down the hall, and into her room, only to find the one person she was so hoping not to see until later in the day.
“Faith, what the hell are you doing in my room, and NAKED???” Buffy stood there with her mouth wide open in utter shock of what was in front of her.
“hey B, sorry, I needed a place to get dressed, I didn’t think you would mind, I’m sorry, I’ll ask in future, uh, I’ll just go now, bye.” With that faith put her bath robe on and quickly walked passed Buffy and out of her room.
“faith?”
“Yeah B?”
“ You forgot your clothes,”
“ Oh, uh, thanks.”
As faith yet again made her way out of Buffy’s room, Buffy spoke up once again,
“faith, wait, you can change in here, its cool.”
Faith turned towards Buffy with a small smile and made her way back into the Buffy’s room.
“Are you sure B? I don’t wanna get in your way.”
“I’m sure, just be quick and meet me down stairs, we need to sort out our schedule for this afternoon.”
Faith turned to Buffy, “ what are we doing this afternoon?”
Buffy turned to a naked faith, “Oh my god, FAITH!”
“oops,” Faith laughed and pulled her robe up over her body.
“We are training the girls again,”
“oh.. ok.”
With that Buffy left the room and headed down stairs to wait for faith.
Later that afternoon, Buffy, Faith and the potentials were in the back garden training, Buffy had her group and so did Faith.
“Right I think that’s it for today, go inside and wash up girls,” Buffy announced as she picked up a bottle of water from the floor near the stairs leading up to the entrance of the house.
“That was great, best work out I’ve had in ages, we gotta do this more often B,”
Buffy turned to look at faith, watching her do her finishing stretches, she admired how well built the dark slayers body was.
“Faith, can we talk? Your room, not mine,”
Faith took a moment to and then replied, “Uh yeah sure, 10 minutes ok, I need to have a quick shower.”
“ok.” Buffy walked into the house.
The basement: aka faiths room.
Buffy and Faith were sat down next to each other on faiths bed, Buffy started first, “Faith, I just want to know why you came back here?”
Faith stood up in anger, “what the hell B, I come back here to help you, and what, now you don’t want my help, well screw you B,”
“Faith wait, don’t be so stupid, I know you’re here to help me, but im asking you, why, why did you want to come back here to help me?”
Faith sat back down, “oh, sorry. I wanted to do something right for a change, try and make up for all the bad shit I’ve done to you, and I know I cant make up for it, any of it, but I thought it was the worth the chance to try you know.”
Buffy sat there in silence for a moment and then looked at faith, “Faith, I don’t forgive you for what you did, and I’m always going to keep my guard up around you, but in spite of all that, I’m glad you’re here, and in a non evil, killing everyone way, I … have to admit, I miss this, us slaying together, I could probably forgive you in time, but for now I just want us to get along and try to get to know each other again, does that sound ok?”
Faith couldn’t believe what she was hearing, Buffy wasn’t thinking about killing her or wasn’t completely hating her, she even said she misses her, faith was doing back flips of joy in her mind, “Thanks B, I really appreciate your kindness towards me, its something I thought id never get from you.”
“Faith?”
“Yeah?”
“One thing you can change to stay in my good books, STOP calling me B, ok?”
Faith laughed, “Sure, Buffy, there, im getting better already.” Faith said with a grin, Buffy laughed and grabbed faith into a hug, she quickly pulled back, “Uh, I don’t know why I did that, sorry.” And with that, Buffy left the basement.
