Buffy paused, taking a quick break from dusting vamps. She watched silently from the dark corner of the cemetery, as two people she knew approached each other. She waited for the next round of nasty insults to start. Imagine her surprise at what she saw instead.

Spike slowly came to a stop in front of Xander and stood quietly, darting his eyes around, checking for trouble, waiting for a snarky insult. He had decided in his frequent bouts of isolation that the young man wasn't so bad. Okay, he liked Xander; he wasn't going to start the night's round of bickering. Imagine his delight at what happened next.

"Hey, Spike." Xander shuffled his feet and looked anywhere but at the vampire.

"What are you doing out ; sick of all the girlies at home?"

"Yeah, I'm heading back to my place. Hunting for vamps. Looking for... um... you? What about you?"

"Whatever I can find." Something was up with Xander, that much Spike could see. So he waited, knowing it wouldn't take long for Xander to spill.

"Well, you found me." Xander moved closer.

"That I did, mate. So what now?" Spike eyed his friend carefully.

Spike stood his ground and looked at the mortal in front of him. He waited and was rewarded. Licking his lips, the dark-eyed man moved forward again and placed his hands on Spike's shoulders, rubbing them gently.

"Ah, so that's it, mate?"

"Yeah, Spike." Xander paused until Spike's strong hands slid across his stomach to gently hold his hips. A breathy gasp escaped the young man's lips.

Spike looked up, seeing the need, the want in Xander's face. Soft lips Spike's cheek and brushed across his lips. Slowly, oh so slowly, Xander's warm lips moved to deepen the kiss. Spike opened his mouth to the questing warmth of Xander.

With his growl smothered in the best way, Spike gripped Xander's hips and brought them together, feeling the heat and hardness. He felt a thrill of pleasure as Xander gasped at the sudden contact; he plunged into the kiss with gusto.

Buffy had seen enough. She pulled out her stake and moved forward. With
swift efficiency, the vampire was dust.

Xander gasped and looked at Buffy. "Buffy!"

Looking around at the dust slowly drifting to the ground, he gave a nervous giggle.

"Thanks for the save, Slayer," Spike said as he stood quietly in Xander's embrace. He wondered if he was next in line for laying hands on her friend.

Buffy smirked at them both. "Spike and Xander in a cemetery. K.I.S.S.I.N.G." And then she laughed quietly. "Well, run along. I think you two should be at home, don't you?"

Not dust then. Spike looked at Buffy and she gave him a small smile. With that slight encouragement, he pulled out of Xander's arms and tugged him in the direction of his place.

Spike could see Xander's brain start functioning again, and he placed his hand over the nervous man's mouth to stop the babble. "I'll take 'im home. See you later, Slayer!"

Buffy stood watching them go as her smile faded to a wistful look. "Good luck, guys."
