Witch's Vampire
All characters are property of Joss. By no means or they mine or I wouldn't be slaving away at my 9 to 5 job.
This takes place several years after the 'Spike gets a soul' incident, with a twist. No Season 7. There will be mention, only in reference of underage rape but in no way will it be described.

Buffy blew the hair out of her eyes as she carefully navigated the toy clogged front yard before reaching the door. She tapped it with her foot, sighing with relief when Xander opened the door and helped her with a grocery bag,” Rough day?”
The brunette shook his head and preceded her,” You have no idea.”
They put their parcels on the kitchen counter and started unpacking things,” When’s Dawn finished with classes?”
He glanced at his watch,” Twenty minutes, then she can look after John and I can finish my shift.”
The blond nodded, fairly familiar with the routine. Since Spike had left town and Willow had gone berserk things had kind of gone downhill. Giles stayed in Sunnydale that first year, falling victim to a hit and run. Tara was already dead which was why Willow went nuts and got shipped to a witch’s coven in Copenhagen. Anya moved away after Giles had died, Xander always suspicious that she had fallen in love with the watcher.
Then the last blow. Dawn,” Hi guys!”
Xander grinned at the brunette, at one time a ‘key’ turned normal teenager and now a twenty-two year old near graduate. At seventeen she’d gotten pregnant and had John, who she adamantly refused to abandon. The now five year old was rambunctious and every bit like a Summers.
Buffy smiled tiredly as she watched her friend leave for work. She’d given up on fast food, learning that being a grocery cashier earned a lot more money and gave her free time during the afternoons and nights. So she was now a worker at the BB Mart by day and slayer of all things gross and icky by night. Dawn pulled out a book and handed it over,” Assignment for the night in the way of prophecy junk. Just got it faxed over from the ‘source’.”
The ‘source’ was an anonymous individual who relayed information on potential baddies in the area. It had really come in handy on a number of occasions since Giles had died. She quickly skimmed through the details. A bunch of demons who seemed ordinary but the last one was really sketchy. And scrolled across the bottom of the page were the words: ‘will arrive to assist in two days’.
She paled a little, not really believing her mystery Scooby was actually coming to help,” What is it? What’s wrong?”
Glancing at Dawn,” Whoever the ‘source’ is, they’re coming here. Day after tomorrow.”
Blinking in surprise,” Really? Wow. Guess we won’t have to guess who he or she is after that.”
A feeling of dread settling in her stomach,” Nope. Guess not.”
Chapter 1
Turning off the fax machine, a redhead moved around the apartment, picking up clothes and weapons, stashing them into large suitcases. This last Hell beast would kill the slayer for sure. After seven years she had no choice but to return to Sunnydale. A place that had been her home, but that she’d been exiled from. Sighing to herself, Willow headed for the bedroom, searching for one of her bracelets.
She could hear soft rustling sounds from her closet and groaned to herself. It could only be her room mate. Shaking her head, she stalked over and flung open the door. A pair of startled blue eyes met her’s an instant before he leapt out at her. But she was more than ready for him and hurled him to the ground.
Her sock-clad foot kept him on his back as she stared him down, waiting until he lowered his eyes first. As soon as he averted his gaze she started tickling him with her foot, waiting until he was laughing fitfully before stopping. Removing her weight on him, she knelt down and opened her arms,” Come here, Spike.”
He eagerly crawling into her arms, purring softly as she rubbed his back and sides, moving her head a little,” Drink me.”
His nose snuffled along her collarbone before finding her jugular. Face morphing, he bit down gently at his customary spot and carefully lapped up the blood. She cooed softly, continuing to rub his back as her magically enhanced blood flowed through his veins. He stiffened suddenly and pulled back, a familiar look of horror and shame flashing across his face.
She smiled and kissed his nose,” Did you forget your breakfast?”
After a moment he looked down and nodded. She knew he hated his dependence on her blood but it was the only way for him to retain his humanity. At least for now. She’d been working for years on a one time shot to give it back to him for good. When he’d left Sunnydale he’d traveled to Africa to get his soul. Something had gone horribly wrong and instead of containing his demon, his human attributes had been lost. She could only gather that his demon had simply overpowered the soul as a defense mechanism. For all that was left was a playful demon that wouldn’t feed from humans and had been slowly starving when she’d found him. Her thoughts drifted back to 2002. Late August, to be precise.

Willow pulled her coat around her more tightly, hurrying through the streets. She reminded herself of the stake she had stashed in her pocket and kept her eyes open. The locals had been talking about a ragged beast roaming the streets and from the description it sounded like a vampire. Which was surprising considering she hadn’t thought there were any demons here.
She was determined for there to be no more. It’s one of the reasons she never thought about California. Never called or wrote, virtually forgot about that piece of hell altogether. Her home was not going to become like Sunnydale. A soft growl traveled from her right and she spun, stake raised and ready. It clattered to the ground in surprise when Spike crawled forward, growling again softly but not even baring his fangs,” Spike?!”
He yipped at her, making a yowling sound and moving toward her before backing up. He was playing with her and it was shocking. His appearance also took her breath away. He was so gaunt, nothing but bones, but the old wounds were what really surprised her. He had scars, burns, and barely healed wounds. Without even thinking she knelt down and held out her arms.
He immediately crawled into her embrace, nuzzling her shoulder with his head and emitting a soft whine. She rubbed along his pale back, suppressing the shudders as she felt each and every bone. It was horrible and though a part of her knew she shouldn’t be sympathetic, the part of her that had seen him as a friend won,” Bet you’re hungry...aren’t ya?”
He whimpered softly and inched closer toward her neck. She was startled when he bit her. It stung but it certainly wasn’t the horrible experience that Buffy had described. It made her wonder if her ex-friend had enjoyed it a lot more than she led on. Moaning as his bite invoked an erotic response, she frowned in disappointment when he stopped. < Bad Willow...no more lusty thoughts about Buffy’s ex.>
He licked his lips of the last of the blood, purring once more and leaning into her like a cat. Deciding to go with that train of thought, she started running her hands through his hair, smiling when his purrs deepened and he leaned even more heavily against her.
********************************************************************************
Willow raised her hand, running it through his hair and along his neck now. As soon as she started massaging the knotted muscles there he sagged into her. She couldn’t see the peaceful smile starting across his face but she knew it was there.
It had taken three years of alchemy to find the right ingredients that would bring his humanity back and at the same time was safe for her to swallow. During those three years she’d moved to a private apartment on the coven’s property. She’d actually been told by the head of the order that she was stable enough if she wished to return. But she didn’t. Spike needed her and if she really thought about it, Sunnydale was no longer home.
Spike soon started purring and she found herself smiling. It had taken three years to get him back, and only one more to fall in love with him. She was hopelessly smitten with him but she dared not say anything. He could still be in love with Buffy. But what she was most afraid of was that he stayed just because it was the only way to stay partially human. She couldn’t bare to know if the truth was he still despised her as a Scooby, like he had everyone else.
Bringing up the subject of her packing wasn’t going to be easy but best to just put it out of the way. She knew from experience delaying only made him more provokable,“ We have to go back.”
His entire body stiffened and he jerked out of her grasp, a look of near horror on his face,” No we bloody don’t.”
She sighed, rising to her feet, eyes lighting up when she spotted her bracelet. She crossed over to it,” Okay, but I do...I can leave you a few days supplies while I’m gone-“
Jumping to his feet,” But what if you take longer? What if-“
Spike turned away, a look of pain on his face. He refused to acknowledge the fact that she might die protecting someone who hadn’t thought much of either of them. She misunderstood his fear for her as a fear that he might revert before she got back,” I gave the potion to the others. They’re more than willing to stand in.”
There were twenty-five witches in the coven, not including the elders. And every one of them had come to think of both of them as part of their clan. He continued to stand there silently, fists clenched. She crossed back over to him and wrapped her arms around him, head on his shoulder. After seven years of close friendship, she was starting to understand his moods,” You’re more than welcome to come.”
Laughing softly though not in humor,” Until you remember how much you missed that hell hole and send me on my way?”
She spun him around, forcing him back until he hit the wall. He was stronger and faster but she’d caught him by surprise,” Why the hell would you say something like that?”
Didn’t he know that this was the last place in the world she wanted to be? He shrugged,” ‘Cause it’s true... bloody hell, Red, you haven’t moved on yet. Soon as you see the whelp... you’ll fall madly in love together.”
The thought of being with Xander nearly disgusted her but she had to play it cool. If she gave too much away he might figure out how she really felt about him. Narrowing her eyes,” So? What does one have to do with the other?”
Spike flinched, internally crushed that she could really want the boy and that was the reason she hadn’t fallen in love again. It nearly surprised him how much it hurt,” Everything apparently.”
He broke her hold and stormed off, slamming his own door shut. Willow growled, stomping after him. He’d never won an argument yet and he wasn’t about to. She tried the knob, cursing when he’d had the foresight to lock it after their last fight. Rolling her eyes, she pulled out the lock pick set he’d given her for Christmas and picked the lock.
When she opened the door, she found him sitting on the window sill, smoking a cigarette and looking out into the night. She could see the barest trace of moisture on his cheek so she knew he was more upset than he let her believe. She just couldn’t figure out why. Could he really be upset at the thought of her loving someone else?
“ Spike?”
He sighed and looked at his fingernails, flicking his cigarette out the window,” What?”
His voice was quiet and nonargumenative, not a normal voice for him,” What’s really wrong?”
He looked at her, wanting to tell her so badly how he really felt but afraid to do so. Afraid of what it could mean if she didn’t feel the same. < Oh come off it mate. You’re just scared of getting hurt again...bloody pansy.> So he opted for shaking his head and saying nothing.
Trying a different tactic when she realized he wasn’t going to tell her, warming up a little reverse psychology on him,” So I guess you’re not coming?” At his snort she pressed on,” Okay...I’ll go pack and I’ll drop you off with Bethany.” He growled softly as he glanced at her and she hid her smile,” I don’t know how long I’ll be so you may have to show her the potion, so you can start on her blood when my supply runs out.”
She was playing dirty because she knew for a fact he didn’t like Beth, who fawned over him like a child. And the idea of having to be babysat wouldn’t sit well with him either. Of course, the final nail was talking about him being forced to drink from the woman. He stood up stiffly, eyes not amused,” I’ll be packed in five minutes.”
This takes place several years after the 'Spike gets a soul' incident, with a twist. No Season 7. There will be mention, only in reference of underage rape but in no way will it be described.
