Stolen Destiny

Title: Stolen Destiny. Chapter One.

Rating: R (For the time being.)

Summary: What if in season four of Buffy, Faith did happen to take that flight out of the country and not decide to save those in the church? And what if Buffy was left with nowhere to go other than Los Angeles to see a certain vampire who'd be most likely to believe her?

Briefing: Just so you know, Buffy had gone to Giles to explain what happened, but unfortunately for her, he didn't believe her. Before Willow and Tara could arrive, she had fled while Giles made calls to the others(The Scoobies, Buffy included) to let them know what 'Faith' was trying to pull. The Scoobies had met up at the Church where a group of vampires were holding civilians hostage. They, with the help of the Initiative, were able to take down the vampires. Faith in Buffy's body never comign to help. Instead she landed herself the first ticket out of Sunnydale and off to Mexico. Angel is still in Los Angeles with Wesley and Cordelia. The Hyperion comes into play a little earlier than in the show. Just 'cos I think it's a neat place. :P There you have it.

Oh, and I know. I have way too many stories that aren't completed up. I just tend to go from one story's chapter to the next story's chapter. It works well for me. Hehe.

// Sunnydale. //


"Are you positive that they're both no longer in Sunnydale?" The weary Watcher asked while perched on one of the church pews. His glasses were in hand, handkerchief rubbing furiously at the lenses.

"Yeah, we're sure, Giles. Tara and I did a small locator spell to see if either of their auroras were anywhere around here. Turned up that they weren't even close. Just not sure where 'not close' is." Willow answered meekly. Almost afraid to reply.

"Hmm." Came a heavy response from the Watcher, who sat staring down into his lap. The noise from around the church had finally leveled into silence. All save the sounds from within that the Scoobies were responsible for. The tension and fear in the air was thick as the pair of wiccas stood at the head of the aisles, Xander and Anya seated in the row across from the guilt stricken elder.

"Does Buffy's mother know what happened?" Forcing his glasses on, as if that would make him see things in an entirely new light, Giles glanced up at both of the girls standing.

"No. She just knows something's up. She said Buf..Faith, was acting weird. A little jumpy. I told her it was likely because Faith had her all wired." Willow said, her weight being shifted from foot to foot.

After a long span of silence, to which everyone sat looking down and not at one another, it was Anya who spoke up, "Shouldn't we check airlines to see if Faith is there? If I were her, I'd likely steal, since she is very good at doing that, a credit card from Joyce and get the hell, no pun intended of course, out of here."

Xander had shot his girlfriend a look that just screamed for her to be quiet.

"What?" Anya asked again, "I'm just saying what's the truth. She ran once. What's to say she wouldn't again? Plus, she has a new not-so-convicted body to keep her out of the hands of authorities." Glancing around, Anya let her eyes fall on Tara, "You did do a spell that made it clear that Faith wasn't in Sunnydale."

"She's right." Willow complied.

"Thank you." Anya beamed.

"I mean, Faith is unstable girl. With the pressure of us maybe finding out who she is, because we all know what a terrible liar she is, Faith ran...or!" Like a light shining in the dark, Willow's eyes went wide as the idea hit, "Ooo! Ooo!" She said enthusiastically, "I bet Faith didn't fly. She took a bus. That's how Faith used to get around. I say we check the bus depots on the outskirts and the like. Bet we'll find our Buffy bodied Faith."

It wasn't long before everyone had agreed that steps needed to be taken, and quickly, to find Faith before she left California entirely. With Xander, Anya and Giles headed off together, Willow and Tara went off in pair. The first group were headed looking around the town and the surrounding ones for Faith, while Willow and Tara went to work on spells to clearly locate where it was each Slayer was at.

Or so they hoped they'd be able to do.
