"In every generation there is a Chosen One. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is the Slayer."
That was the second thought that crossed Buffy’s mind as she stared out at the crater that was once Sunnydale. The first was of course Spike; how she missed him instantly. Dawn stood beside her and leaned into her big sister.
"You ready Buffy?" Buffy nodded and they climbed into the Winnebago, driving off to their next destination: New York. Buffy knew that her job as one of the slayers, now that the potentials were no longer just potentials, was far from over. However, it didn't bother her now as much as it used to. She knew that this was her life.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
She walked down the street in her nightclothes, teetering in and out of consciousness, not giving attention to the blinds and curtains closing and lights going out for the night. Things whispered to her that she was crazy and that nothing was real; the voices were telling her lies and making her angry.
"What are you doing here? Get lost little girl!" A man in front of her shouted. Her eyes turned white as a branch ripped from a nearby tree, smacking him in his abdomen and knocking him to the ground. The man immediately turned into his true form: a vampire. His fangs stood out prominently as a hiss came from his mouth. He knew this one well; she was a troublemaker. She stood only a few feet from him but that all changed when he jumped up and grabbed her by the arm.
"You will regret that," he spat out wanting to rip her apart. How his buddies would praise him for it. Her eyes bore into his, putting him in a trance like state. He quietly put her down and knelt before her. Her voice came out softly as she spoke.
"What are you doing here?"
"Trying to get something to eat, what do you think I am doing?"
"Leave now," she ordered.
"You can't make me. You have no power over me!" the vamp yelled in an old dialect.
"Care to stake your life on that?" she asked as she pointed to his heart.
"Stake. HAHA! That’s funny." Sarcasm dripping from the vamp’s voice. "You know Master will kill you permanently if he finds you here," the vampire informed the young girl.
"He was the one who sent me here. My sentence is being carried out. Now let’s get back to the matter at hand. Leave." She didn't want anything around to remind her of the old days.
"So I can't take my dinner to go?" the vamp asked, his demon raging for some blood. If she didn't let him go, he would eat her and report back to Master saying his threat was gone.
"Gah! I told you to go!" Her anger rose and her eyes turned a ghastly white as she threw him down the street and heard his neck crack as it hit the pavement. His body disintegrated into dust as she began to feel woozy. Telekinesis was good in situations where your adversary was a lot bigger then you. It also didn't hurt to be the former Second to Satan himself.
As if nothing had happened, she fell limp onto the middle of the street and blacked out. All strength gone from her body.
Someone help me, please. Get me out of this.

Spike felt a sensation he hadn't felt in a long time: warmth. He began to hide but then relaxed as he realized it wasn't burning him.
"I must be in Hell." He chuckled at the irony.
"Quite the opposite my good son." The voice startled Spike and caused him to sit up against the tree he was sleeping next to. The voice came from a small boy who was playing with a cardboard plane, trying to get the wings to fit just right.
"You’re a bit young to being calling me son, considering how long I've been around." Spike chuckled. This kid didn't know that half of it.
"I have been here before the beginning of time, William,” the boy replied. Spike's eyes went wide as he became aware of who he was sitting with.

Buffy stood on top of a parking garage looking around. Everywhere around her she saw cars on fire, but none exploded. As she turned to her left, she saw a boy with blue hair standing with her.
"Are you ready Buffy?" he asked.
"Ready for what?"
Then they both heard a loud voice exclaim, "For every car on fire, two vampires will show."
She looked over at the boy and he had a look of urgency.
"Hurry Buffy! I can't fight them off by myself for long." His eyes pleaded with her.
With a jump, she sat straight up in the new RV that the group had chipped in to buy. The dream unnerved her and she couldn't figure out if it was real or if her mind was just playing tricks on her.
Shaking off the dredges of the dream, she walked up front and sat down next to Giles at the front wheel.
"Couldn't sleep?" he asked.
"Had a very odd dream. Where are we headed? I forgot."
"New York. I have a associate up there who is going to give us shelter for a few days until we can figure out our situation at hand."
"Gotcha."
Dawn walked in to the room, yawning and stretched lazily as she asked Buffy when they were going to be in New York.
"How did you know that? I only told Buffy just now," Giles asked surprised.
"The blue haired kid told me," Dawn said like it was common knowledge. Buffy's eyes shot up to look at Dawn and waited for her to explain how she knew about the boy. "Said that there was big trouble brewing and to get up to NY."
"Brown eyes, 6 feet, dressed like Spike but with Blue hair. She needed to know if Dawn saw the same thing she did.
"Yeah, you know him?" Buffy shook her head at Dawn's question.
"I had a dream, he was in it too."
"You think it’s bad?"
"Don't know Dawnie. All I’m sure of is that we need to get there quick. " Giles nodded and took a sip from his water bottle. It was going to be a long drive.
"Xander and Willow still sleep?" Buffy asked. It had been a trying day for all of them and the rest of the gang had a difficult time going to sleep. Dawn nodded and leaned against Buffy.
"I miss Spike."
Buffy nodded in agreement. "Me too."

She woke up in the middle of the street few hours later. The vampire was gone but someone took his place.
"So nice to see you awake," a creepy voice from the shadows greeted. Angie didn't bother to look around because she knew who it was.
"What do you want?" She didn't bother keeping the venom out of her voice.
"You know what I want. You can't give it to me. Although there is one thing you can give me but that’s an old argument."
"Yet you keep coming back, you old fool." She stood on shaky feet. The voice grew into the form of an attractive man and stood in front of her. She looked him over and thought if he were a real man, she could have liked him.
"Funny girl. You could never have someone like him. He would have mocked you from the moment he saw you. You're a freak. No one loves you."
"You have a point. What do you want now? Haven't you tortured me enough?"
"Look little one," he said using the nickname he gave her. "I will make you a deal. You give me what I've been asking for, and I will change everything back to how it was. I’ll let you come home where you belong. Do we have a deal?" He held out his hand as if to shake on it. Angie stood watching his smile fade as she did nothing.
"I said do we have a deal?!" he yelled.
"No. I will never do anything with the likes of you, ever again. You can go back to Hell for all I care."
"You think you can stand against me?"
"Try me!" she dared through clenched teeth. The man's smirk completely faded and a frown replaced it. The face washed away to reveal burnt and gnarled skin that covered a body so hideous, she turned away for only a moment. Regaining her composure, she turned back to face it like she should.
Someone help me, please. She knew she couldn't stand against him alone.
"You think that someone will help you? No one can stand against me!" With that he jumped up and flew right through her body. She let out an ear shattering yell as the pain shot right to her heart, hitting every nerve ending in her body; her body felt like it was on fire.
Is that it? Is that all you got? You can't hurt me, not even a little pest like you.
"Oh really?" He summed other demons to help and for an endless hour, she stood yelling and screaming from the searing pain of having demons pass through her body and tear her insides to pieces.
"Oh God! Please help me!" she cried out. She had no idea why she cried out for the Almighty. He couldn't love her. She was tainted. Forgiveness was only meant for the humans that he was so fond of saving. "I. Want. You. To. Leave. Now!" She stood on shaky legs again as most of the demons left her body and scrambled away. The former man stood before her, his gnarled hand striking out to hold her by the neck as he laughed in her face.
"He won't come." He felt a tap on his shoulder.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"I have to send you back,” the boy said.
Spike looked up at his company and noticed he had changed. He was older now and they were in different setting too. Spike followed him as they walked down a deserted street until his friend stopped and faced him.
"I need you to take her away from here. Get her to New York. " Spike looked down at his shoes and was about to speak but shouting was heard before he could make one sound. He looked down the street and saw a young girl kneeling in the middle of it.
"Things are not what they seem William." Spike turned back to ask what He meant but his companion was gone.
"This has to be a dream," Spike grumbled.
"God! Help me please!" Spike turned back around when he heard the girl call out and scream. Demons came hurtling towards her, passing through her body as she cried out in pain. Spike hurried, coming up behind the funny looking man and tapping him on the shoulder.
"I believe the lady told you to leave her alone. Now I suggest you do that."
The gnarled hand that held Angie by the throat loosened and Satan turned to face the person that tapped him. He smiled, as if seeing an old friend, and dropped Angie.
"William, how nice to see you. Or would you rather I call you Spike?" Spike recoiled as he realized who this was. Never met him personally but knew of him. "Of course you met me. The demon inside of you knows me." Spike only stood as Satan continued to circle him. Angie stood on shaky legs, taking in deep breaths.
"Get out now!" she screamed, her voice raspy. "Get out! Get out! Get out!" Her eyes turned white and she fell back down to her knees. Spike was convinced this was all a dream but it felt too real to be one. He knelt down next to the girl making sure she was all right. Satan frowned for a moment before turning away to leave. He stopped long enough to say one more thing.
"I will be back Angie. You will realize you need me. This isn't over." Angie passed out in Spike's arms.
"This is going to be a long night." He groaned as he picked Angie up and carried her into the closest house. He kicked the door shut behind him and collapsed near the door. Making sure the girl was okay, he let himself close his eyes and rest. It had been a trying day.

"Buffy, Wake up. You must not be any longer. Spike can't hold on. He needs you."
Buffy jolted up hearing the voice in her head almost as if the man had been talking into her ear. She let the sun warm her skin as confusion took over her. Spike? He was dead, right? She certainly didn't want to get her hopes up, but she knew somehow in her heart, that whoever was speaking to her wasn't lying. She got up and dressed. Walking out to the dinning room, she looked out the window and saw the sign welcoming them to New York.
"So where is this friend of yours?" she asked Giles as she sat down with the rest of the group in the small kitchen.
"In Lima but I am sure he won't be staying there for long. He mentioned a boisterous amount of activity going on in the city."
"Doesn't surprise me. More people. Have we found out who the blue haired kid is?" Buffy asked getting down to business, all too happy to forget the weird dream she had a few moments ago.
"Not as of yet. Sam appears to have important news for me when we arrive."
"Let me guess. This is 'I have to tell you to your face so I can see the look of shock’ kind of news?" Dawn asked and Buffy smiled.
"As disobliging as it sounds, if Sam feels the need for the information to be told in person, then I trust his judgment," Giles replied as they pulled into a driveway and filed out. Dawn went into the back of the RV and woke Willow and Xander up so they could meet Giles' friend.
