True Feelings

Wesley sighed in his SUV as he sat at a red light. He was so nervous he was shaking.
“I can’t do this.” he said to himself, leaning his head against the steering wheel. He looked up after a moment, determination written all over his face.
“Yes I can. I will… I’ll tell her tonight.” He said sternly, looking at
his reflection in the rearview mirror. The light turned green and he took off, his thoughts nowhere related to driving. All he could think about was her. Faith.
They’d been living together for a year and a half now. She’d gone to apologize to him the day she’d been released. Once thing had led to another and they became very close friends in a short amount of time.
But he wasn’t worried about their friendship. He was wed aed about what would happen to their friendship when he told her how he really felt. When he told her he was in love with her.
He wasn’t sure when he first realized it. He refused to accept it at first, he didn’t think it was real. Just wishful thinking, wanting to have someone to have a relationship with. But the past few weeks had proven that he couldn’t ignore it anymore. He was in love with Faith
It had been Cordelia who confronted him about it.

*“I see the way you look at her.” Cordelia laughed. “Don’t worry
though, I think I’m the only one who’s noticed.” She smiled and gave his hand a comforting squeeze. “I’m not positive, so you can’t hold me to my word here, but, I think I’m feeling the same vibes coming from her.”
“Towards who?” he asked, kicking mentally kicking himself in the ass as soon as the words left his mouth.
Cordelia paused, laughing. “I’ll pretend you didn’t say that.”*

He smiled as he thought of that conversation from earlier that night. He’d promised to tell Cordelia how it went the next day at work.
The next thing he knew, he was pulling into the lot of the apartment complex. He turned the ignition off and sat there a moment, breathing heavily.
“Here goes.” He said as he got out or the car and hurried inside.
