Title: It's Not a Relationship!... Is It?
Part One: If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It
Rating: R (sex, violence, language)
Category: Angst, Drama, Suspense, AU
Author: FaithHopeCharity spikefaithwes@excite.com
Fandom: AtS
Pairings: Faith/Wesley, implied Lilah/Wesley, Fred/Gunn, Faith/Spike, Buffy/Angel
Spoilers: AtS S1- Five By Five/Sanctuary, BtVS S4- Spike's chip
Summary: I’m not good at writing summaries. I always flunked those papers in English. Just read it, the full story’s always better than the summary.
Author’s Note: OK, this is where I give my weird explanation thing. This is all obviously AU. It kinda takes place Season 3 of Angel, but S4 of Buffy, get it? Except I don't have any mentions of Tara or Riley or Oz leaving. I know, it's kinda weird and confusing, but that's one of the many reasons I'm loved by so many.
Feedback: Totally welcome. But be nice, my feelings get hurt easily.
Disclaimer: Come on now, if they were mine, d’you really think I’d be spending my time writing fan-fic?? Yeah, me neither.
Distribution: Want. Take. Have. Just lemme know where so I can keep track.

Faith slammed the vampire against the building, thrusting her stake into its chest. As the form disintegrated into dust she flipped the stake back into her pocket and turned.
She jumped when she came face to face with Wesley and she smiled.
“Why do you always seem to pop up after I’ve had a real good slay?” she asked as she closed the distance the between them.
Wesley smiled smugly and shrugged, eyes locking on hers. “Coincidence?” he suggested coyly, hand reaching her pants, he slipped his fingers through the belt loops.
“I’ll bet.” Faith nodded and glanced down at his hands before looking back up at him with a smirk.
He pulled her to him by her pants, kissing her harshly.
She immediately kissed him back as he pushed her against the same building where she’d just dusted the vampire, pressing his body against hers. She moaned in surprise and wrapped her legs around his waist, grinding herself into him.
The fluid motion of her hips making him harder, he grasped her hips and held her still.
“You know, this isn’t right.” He mumbled as they tore their lips apart.
She kissed his neck, nipped at his ear. “Hasn’t stopped us the other two dozen times, has it?”
His eyes rolled as they went back and forth with their routine of objections, brush-offs and insults.
Finally he let go of her hips and unfastened her pants, followed by his own. He thrust up into her hard, eliciting a moan of pleasure from deep in her throat.
She gripped his shoulders tightly as he touched his lips to her neck, kissing the hot flesh.
They found a rhythm as he pumped in and out of her, her hips matching him thrust for thrust.
Their lips met again, hard, desperate. His tongue slid into her mouth, exploring every square inch of velvety softness. Her tongue fought against his for control before plundering his mouth in return.
He sped up his movements every so often, thrusting deeper into her hot center, making her moan louder each time.
She moaned with every movement, biting his bottom lip and tugging hard as she squeezed him inside.
His hands grasped her hips again and he thrust harder, faster, deeper, feeling both hers and his own climax begin to get closer.
She pulled her mouth from his and kissed along his jaw until she came across the scar on his throat.
As he continued to thrust into her, she wrapped her lips around the skin and kissed it gently, letting her tongue snake out here and there to caress the pale skin.
Wesley moaned, unable to control himself. He’d never thought something that reminded him of so much pain could cause so much pleasure. It was more than he could stand.
He felt himself begin to fall over the precipice, so he thrust up into her once more as she squeezed him and he pinched her clit hard.
Faith cried out in a mix of extreme pleasure and pain as they both came, pouring their frustrations into one another.
Their bodies tensed as wave after wave of pure ecstasy hit them, causing them to hold each other tightly, afraid they’d lose their grip on reality if they didn’t, the euphoria was so strong.
They gasped desperately for breath as they slowly came down from their highs, the euphoria slowly draining from their minds and bodies.
At first, they leaned against one another, heads one the other’s shoulder as they caught their breath. They slowly parted, Wesley slowly backing away from Faith as she dropped to the ground, landing on her feet and leaning against the building for support.
They fixed their clothes in silence, buckling belts, zippers being zipped.
Finally, they looked up at each other and smiled lightly, as if they were two strangers who knew they were never going to see each other again.
Wesley nodded and whispered his routine, “I guess I’ll see you around.”
To which Faith replied with a smug, “Sure, whatever.”
Then they both went their separate ways.

Wesley, back to his apartment where a still sleeping Lilah awaited him. He was thankful she wasn’t awake and waiting for him. He hadn’t thought of what he’d tell her if she’d been awake, demanding to know where he’d been. He changed into a pair of sleep pants and walked to the bed, stopping at the edge.
He stood there, looking over the female lawyer’s sleeping form with such hatred, he never fathomed it was possible for him to hate someone so much. For a moment, he actually wondered if he’d be able to get into bed with her sleeping form still in it.
After a while, he finally managed to slip under the covers and get comfortable, once Lilah rolled to the other sighed and snuggled up against a pillow. He closed his eyes, but all he could think about was a certain brunette slayer. And he wondered what would happen with them. Would they see each other again? Will tonight have been the last night they ever spoke? What did the future have in store for them?
**************************************
Faith returned to the Hyperion hotel and glanced around, hoping no one was up to see her late return.
Just as she was making her way to the stairs a voice came from the lobby and she jumped.
“Late night?”
When she turned, she saw Angel leaning against the doorframe of his office, arms folded. She took a breath and nodded, smiling.
“Yeah, that uh, that vamp just wouldn’t get near the stake tonight.” she laughed and shrugged.
Angel returned the smile and nodded, walking towards her. “Yeah, we vampires, we’re not big fans of the wooden and pointy.”
Faith smiled and rolled her eyes playfully. “Tell me about it.”
Angel paused a moment before coming closer. “Faith, if you needed help, you should’ve called us.” he frowned as he came face to face with the slayer, leaning against the staircase.
Faith stared at him a moment before blinking and shaking her head. “Oh, oh, n-no. It wasn’t any trouble. Just a little bit of a challenge. I just, you know how a good slaying gives me a little extra kick and all-“ she laughed, “I went for a run afterwards and worked it off so I could sleep when I got back. Didn’t wanna wake anyone up, y’know?” she lied, praying he didn’t think anything was up. She didn’t want to deal with trying to explain to him that she was screwing his ex best friend. Not tonight anyway.
Angel eyed her closley. He knew she was lying, She had Wesley’s scent all over her, and this wasn’t the first time she’d come back to the hotel smelling like Wesley. It was obvious she was sleeping with her former watcher. Not that it was any of his business. But he already knew about Wesley and Lilah’s relationship, now Wesley was sleeping with Faith? Did they know about each other?
It wasn’t as if either woman was stable enough to handle being cheated on. At least in Angel’s opinion. Lilah was a selfish, egotistical bitch who wanted everything then and there. And Faith, well, Faith was fresh out of prison. She’d only been out for three months, and before that, well, she was never a fan of having to take the second seat. He’d have to make sure to have a conversation with Wesley soon. Before someone got hurt. Or actually, before Faith got hurt, or hurt someone. Lilah, he could care less about and Wesley, the jury was still out about him, but Faith. Faith was healthy now, on the side of good, and he wasn’t going to let anything ruin that. Not Wesley and especially not Lilah Morgan.
Angel shook himself from his thoughts and smiled at the Slayer. “Well, just checking. Making sure you’re okay.”
Faith nodded. “I’m fine. ‘Night.”
“’Night.” Angel called back as he watched her silently run up the stairs and listened until he heard the sound of her door closing before going to his own room.
**************************************
Once inside, Faith leaned against the door and sighed, shutting her eyes briefly. When she opened them, she gazed around the room silently and smiled before pushing away from the door.
She got changed and brushed her hair before slipping under the covers of her bed and switching her light off.
As she lay there, starring at the ceiling, she thought of her former Watcher and the game they’d been playing. The “game” as she called it, they’d been playing for weeks.
She’d patrol, get a few good stakings in and he’d just happen to show up around the time she’d be getting antsy. The same alley, same time. They’d ask the same questions, say the same things, get the same answers, and it always ended in sex. Great sex, but sex nonetheless.
At the end of the night, they’d both resolve to stop whatever it was they were doing. But a day or two would go by and they’d be back in the alley, sometimes two, threes times a night.
Faith sighed and rolled her eyes. “Oh well…” she mumbled to herself.
No one’s getting hurt. No one’s getting emotionally attached and the sex is… amazing. she thought, smiling deviously.
‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ she quoted to herself as she turned onto her side and closed her eyes, quickly drifting off to sleep.
