"Are we there yet?" Faith moaned, looking over at Wesley.
Wesley sighed and returned her.
"Please don't tell me you're one of those people." he pleaded.
"What people?"
He sighed. "Those people who whine and moan and go 'Are we there yet?' the entire ride.
Because Faith, if you are, tell me right now and I'll do us both a favor. I'll run us into a
ditch." he threatened, only half-serious.
She made a face. "Well, no. Not usually, anyway. It's just, we've been stuck in this car for
three hours! I don't know how much longer I can sit still."
"Sit still?" he shook his head and laughed. "Faith, you haven't been still for about the last
twenty minutes."
"See, that's my point. I'm all antsy." She sighed. "You need a car with more room."
He shrugged. "I'm not any more happy about the situation than you are, but there was no
one else who could get you. Fred and Gunn decided to go on a road trip to try and work
things out between them. Angel's - -"
"Looking after his precious Seer bitch. Yeah, I know, Wes."
He nodded slowly. "Yes… and Connor, well, he can't drive."
"You mean he's not hanging with 'Bitch-delia' too?"
He glanced at the raven haired Slayer curiously. "What is it about her that you dislike so
much?"
She snorted. "Are you fuckin' serious?" She caught his glance and sighed, rolling her eyes.
"Wait, what am I saying? You don't remember what she was really like back in Sunnydale-
you were too busy fawning over her like a little school girl."
"I was not!" he glared at her.
She smiled. "Ooh, did I strike a nerve? C'mon Wes, it was disgusting that way the two of you
acted around each other. You do realize the only reason she ever came around was because
you were there, right?"
"What?"
"Jesus Wes! She wasn't goin' out with Xander anymore. She acted like a complete nazi to
everyone and had absolutely no reason to come around unless she needed a book." She
smirked at him. When he didn't reply she just shook her head. "Anyway, we all knew what
you were thinking."
At that comment, he smirked smugly and looked at her. "Well, obviously you all thought you
knew what I was thinking. But you're making it painfully clear to me that no one knew what I
was thinking, what I was really thinking, anyway."
Faith narrowed her eyes in curiosity. "What are talking about?"
He smiled. "To make a long story short? I didn't have a "thing" for Cordelia."
"Bull!"
He didn't say anything. He just continued looking straight ahead.
She moaned in annoyance and slapped his arm. "C'mon! You can't say something like that
and then just stop!"
He nodded. "Yes I can. I just did."
"Bastard." She crossed her arms over her chest and slouched back in her seat. She yawned
softly.
He looked at the clock, then at her. "Tired?"
She shook her head. "No, that's what I do when I find something funny. It's how I laugh."
She said, voice dripping with sarcasm.
He rolled his eyes. "Fuck you, Faith."
She smiled. "Y'know, given this little makeover you've gotten, I might actually take you up
on that. If I wasn't so tired."
"Well, it's eleven-thirty and I don't know how much longer I can drive with my eyes open. So
we can either stop at a motel or you can start driving."
She shook her head. "Love to, but I can't. You're driving around with an escaped convict
baby, remember? I lost my driving privileges a long time ago."
"Oh, yes… right." He sighed.
She leaned toward him, her hand falling onto his leg as she pointed to the outline of a small
motel a few miles ahead of them. He tensed at the touch and turned his head toward her, just
then noticing how close to him she was.
"There's one." She looked at him and smiled, her hand still on his leg. She felt him twitch
and she frowned. "You alright?"
He nodded. "Oh, yeah. I, I'll just keep driving. It's no big deal." He shrugged.
She shook her head and slid back into her seat. "No way, Wes. You'll end up getting me
killed. And I swear, I'll comeback and haunt your ass."
He sighed, laughing. "Alright, fine." He reluctantly agreed and pulled off the road into the
motel parking lot.
Faith moaned as she got out of the car and stretched, feeling Wesley's eyes on her. She
looked at him and smiled. "See something y'like?" she asked playfully.
He quickly averted his gaze, clearing his throat.
"Oh, yes!" he heard her exclaim and turned to face her. She pointed to her left where a
small bar sat. "There is a God. I dunno about you, but I could definitely get drunk tonight."
******************************
After checking in, they made their way to the one room they'd been given, as all the others
were booked up.
The only thing Wesley kept thinking about was that there was going to be one bed and
awkwardness would ensue. But when Faith opened the door, they found two beds.
He didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved.
They walked in, Faith tossing her back on one of the beds. "OK, I'm goin' to that bar. You
comin' with?" she asked as she backed towards the door.
He thought a moment, then sighed and nodded. "Why the hell not?" he asked as he followed
her out.
******************************
"Wait a minute, hold on." Wesley slurred as he placed his glass on the table. "You're telling
me that Spike, William the Bloody, has a soul and is in love… with Buffy??"
Faith nodded, laughing. "That's what I said."
"How the hell did he get a soul?"
She threw another shot back and shook her head, trying to hold back laughter. "Oh, that's
even better. He left Sunnydale and went to Africa to see some cave demon. Then he went
through a bunch of tests or some shit like that, y'know? To prove himself worthy?" she
shrugged.
"He left Sunnydale…"
Faith nodded.
"…and then he actually went back?" he laughed.
"That's what I'm saying. What idiot would leave… and get that far- just to go back?"
They shared another laugh before quieting down and losing themselves in their own thoughts.
"He went in search of a soul…"
She chewed her bottom lip. "After all the shit he put Angel through about having one. And
he was cursed with it. He ends up asking for one."
He shook his head. "Does Angel know?"
She nodded. "Yeah, I think so. At least, that's the vibe I got off of him when he was there.
The three of them were really tense around each other."
He nodded. "That must've been why he was so pissed when he came back."
"Probably." She agreed.
A waitress came by with more drinks, set them on the table and quickly walked off.
Wesley cleared his throat. "So, other than Buffy's new… thing, with yet another vampire,
anything else new in Sunnydale?"
Faith shrugged. "They re-opened the high school. But it got seriously fucked up during our
little battle with the First so… once again, no more high school."
He ed. ed. "Buffy blow it up again? Like last time?"
She shook her head. "No, uh, Hellmouth swallowed it." She paused and looked at the table.
"She uh, she blew it up last time?"
He nodded. "She had the Mayor, in his demon form, follow her inside and-" He stopped mid-
sentence when he realized what he was saying. "Faith…" he sighed. "Faith, I'm so sorry."
She shook her head and forced a smile. "No Wes, it's ok. Really." She sighed and ran a
hand through her hair, smiling. "Well, I'm pleasantly buzzed. I think I'm gonna call it a
night."
He nodded and stood. "Yes, I- yes."
After a small argument he convinced her to let him pay for her drinks and then they left,
stumbling a little as they walked.
"So, I told you about the event following my not so exciting mind trip with Angelus. Now it's
you turn, what happened with you guys after I left?"
He sighed. "Oh well, um… Cordelia, we found out, was behind The Beast's plan to block out
the sun, stealing Angel's soul, and she was pregnant with Connor's child."
"With Con- oh, wicked gross!" she laughed, linking her arm through his as they made their
way back to the room.
He took notice to the physical contact between them but continued. "Yes, it was…
awkward. Anyway, she gave birth to an adult Goddess who enslaved us all and then the rest
of LA. We're still not quite sure why. But Fred was the first who had the spell broken, then
she figured out how to break the spell on Angel, Gunn, Lorne and I."
They stopped outside their room and Faith looked at him as if he were crazy. "You sure you
weren't dreaming?" she laughed.
"It sounds like a dream." He nodded. "But my encounter with some demon from another
dimension who threw me around like I was a rag doll felt pretty real."
She nodded, "Yeah, those always letcha know if your dreaming or not."
He pulled the key from pockpocket, moving to open the door, but dropped it and sighed.
They both went to pick it up, Faith getting to it first. She held it out to him and smiled.
"I think you dropped this."
He smiled and looked at her, for a moment, tempted to lean in and kiss her. But he
restrained himself and simply nodded, reaching to take the key from her.
Just as he went to grab it, she pulled it back just a little, teasingly. She smiled playfully. His
eyes traveled down to the key, up to her eyes, down to her lips and back up to her eyes
before he kissed her.
She moaned softly in surprise, moving her lips against his for a moment before suddenly
pulling away.
"Wait." She said, shutting her eyes and shaking her head. She sighed and looked at him
again. "We just spent an hour drinking enough alcohol to last three day hangover. I think
that puts us in the 'unable-to-make-clear-decisions' category."
He sighed and looked down at the floor, nodding. "I know, you're right."
She smiled lightly. "Yeah, I usually am." She said before they stood and let themselves in.
"I'm uh, I'm gonna go change in the bathroom." She grabbed her bag and headed to the
door.
He nodded. "Sure."
She disappeared behind the bathroom door and he sighed, sitting down on the bed and
closing his eyes. He'd kissed her. He'd actually taken the chance and kissed her, even
though in the back of his mind he knew what would happen.
And that was nothing. Nothing but rejection would happen.
His thoughts were disrupted at the sound of Faith stepping out of the bathroom wearing a
black tank top and black pajama pants.
"All yours." She smiled.
"What?" he asked in surprise, not realizing she was pointing to the bathroom.
"The bathroom. You can change."
"Oh, yes. R-right." He stuttered, watching her.
She dropped her bag on the floor near her bed and ran a hand through her freshly brushed
r, or, once again feeling his eyes on her. She turned to look at him.
"What?"
"You even look gorgeous going to sleep." He commented as he stood.
She blushed lightly. "I think that's the alcohol talking."
He shook his head. "No I, I don't think it is." He walked over to her, gently brushed a
strand of hair from her face and smiled. "I'm fairly sure it's me talking."
Before she could move or speak he kissed her. Softly, slowly, he kissed her. She kissed him
back without a moments hesitation, slowly wrapping her arms around him and pulled herself
closer.
His hips pressed against hers and she arched into him. Her lips parted, inviting his tongue to
explore her mouth.
He took the invitation, slowly letting his tongue dance across her lips until meeting with hers.
She felt him grow hard against her and shivered. From excitement, fright, anticipation,
nerves or arousal she wasn't sure. But it sure as hell felt good.
Finally, she managed to break away, in desperate need of air. She looked at him, eyes dark
with lust and smiled wickedly as she gasped for breath.
"That was… definitely… unexpected." She breathed.
He stepped back, shaking his head. "I'm sorry. I don't know what came ov- -"
"What are you? Dense?" she interrupted with a smile, closing the space he'd made between
them.
She gently touched his lips with her fingers. "You kissed me…" she started, letting her hand
fall to his chest. "…and I kissed you back. You sayin' you didn't notice?" she asked
playfully.
He smiled slowly and opened his mouth to answer her but she didn't give him a chance to
speak. She pressed her lips against his before he could make a sound.
The kiss deepened quickly and he slid his arms around her waist, pulling her closer.
Her hands rested on his chest and she began unbuttoning his shirt at a furious pace.
He quickly grabbed her hands and pulled back, looking at her closely.
"Faith, wait. I," he sighed. "We agreed not fifteen minutes ago that we're too incapacitated
to make any rational decisions.
She smiled and shrugged. "Well, we are. But that's never stopped me before. And right now,
you've got me so wound up that I'm about to pop." She pressed herself against him. "I can
feel you're up to it." She paused when she heard the low moan escape his lips and pulled
away, teasingly. "But, if you wanna play the good guy here I can always go back out. Find
someone else who'll help me in my… situation."
He didn't move at first, as if he were calling her bluff.
She shrugged again and grabbed her bag, heading back for the bathroom. "I'm gonna go
change again."
Just she reached for the doorknob she felt him grab her and turn her around, causing her to
drop the bag.
He shoved her into the door and kissed her harshly, forcing his tongue into her mouth.
She immediately wrapped her legs around his waist, grinding herself against him.
He pressed his hard on into her, causing her to break the kiss and gasp in surprise. He
moved his lips to her neck, kissing the soft, sensitive skin.
She reached for his shirt and tore it open, before she pushed it off his shoulders. She reached
for his pants next, unfastening them and slipped her hand inside, gripping him.
"Faith." He moaned, jerking slightly at the touch.
She began stroking him, wrapping her hand around him and squeezing. She leaned in close to
his ear and whispered. "Fuck me, Wesley. Fuck me now." Before nipping his ear.
They managed to move to the bed and he dropped her on it, forcing her to lay back as he
kissed her fully. She sat up and broke the kiss, peeling off her tank and tossing it to the
floor. Then she pulled him back to her and kissed him again.
His hands reached her pants and he yanked them off her legs before slipping his own pants
off and burying himself deep inside of her.
She cried out and he silenced her with his own mouth, kissing her long and hard.
He picked her up and pressed her against the wall as he began to rhythmically pump in and
out of her, no caring at the moment if they were heard. His mouth left hers, and kissed her
collarbone before biting down on the space between her neck and shoulder.
She cried out again. "Fucking Christ!" as his hand moved between them and began rubbing
her clit fast and hard. She smiled and tightened her grip around his waist before squeezing
him inside her.
He moaned, pumping into her faster as he pinched her sensitive nub between his thumb and
forefinger and twisted harshly.
Her eyes widened and she screamed his name as she came, her orgasm hitting her like an
explosion.
He continued to thrust into her fast and hard, feeling his own climax nearing. She shuddered
and squeezed him again, causing him to cry out and came inside her with one last thrust.
They stumbled, collapsing onto the closest bed, Faith landing on top. She continued to
rhythmicalock ock against him, slowing down, gasping for breath.
He slid his free hand around the back of her neck and pulled her down for a passionate kiss.
She kissed him fully, nipping his lip when she pulled back and collapsed against his chest.
She smiled. "Seems I wasn't the only one who needed a major release."
He shook his head after a moment, returning the smile. "I guess not."
She kissed him, biting his lip again, harder this time. He tangled his hand in her hair, holding
her against him as he returned the kiss.
Finally they parted, both dizzy from the combination of alcohol and their intense orgasms.
She reached for the light, turning it off before they both let darkness consume them.
******************************
Faith waited for Wesley to finish changing the next morning. She sat down on the bed and ran
her hands over the rumpled sheets, smiling as thoughts of the previous night invaded her
mind.
She looked over at the other bed, with the sheets completely straight and not a wrinkle on
them.
Her thoughts were interrupted as Wesley came out of the bathroom, shrugging on a button
up T-shirt over a white cotton tank.
"Are you read t- - "
"That bed's still made." She interrupted and looked at him.
"What?" he asked in confusion and walked over to her. He began buttoning his shirt when
she reached for his hands, stopping him.
"Uh-uh. We should use it." She smiled mischievously.
"What are you talking ab-"
He was cut off when she kissed him long and hard. She pushed the shirt off his shoulders
before letting her hand slide over the front of his pants.
"This is what I'm talking about." She purred before playfully pushing him onto the bed and
crawling on top of him.
******************************
"Are we there yet?" Faith asked from the passenger seat and looked over at Wesley, a
slight smile on her face.
Wesley closed his eyes a moment and sighed. "Not that again, please."
She grinned. "I hate car trips, there's nothing to do."
"There's plenty of things to do. Just use your head and think of them. Sleep, shut up, sit still.
Those are all good things." He smiled.
She glared playfully at him, before thinking a moment. A small, devilish smile crossed her
features. "I can think of something." she purred.
"Really? What's that?" he asked curiously, not paying much attention to the tone of her
voice.
"Pull onto that dirt road."
"Why?"
"Think." She purred, brushing her hand against him. "Think real hard."
He hardened instantly and his eyes widened a little. He looked at her and smiled, shaking his
head. "You're serious."
She smiled and shrugged, leaning closer and kissing his neck. "It's just a suggestion.
Nothing important… like last night was."
"You're going to cause me to drive us off the road." He laughed before pulling onto the dirt
road and turning the engine off. He pulled her to him and kissed her. "You are insatiable."
He smiled.
She grinned as she slid onto his lap and kissed him back. "You know it."
