Surprise Innocence Twisted : Prologue
“You are magnificent.” He said materializing from smoke beside her bed. He inhaled her scent. Her uniqueness.
”I bet you say that before you bite all the girls.” She rolled her eyes.
”No, you are different. Kindred.” He took a step closer. He caught the scent. Vaguely familiar.
”Kindred? Hardly, I…”
“Pull your hair back.” He said softly. Soothingly.
She complied without thinking, exposing the one mark upon her flawless golden skin. Spike’s. “This isn't how I ... usually fight.” She stammered. Blinking she looked at him again with clear eyes. “You think you can just waft in here with your music video wind and your hypno-eyes...”She trailed off.
”I have searcthe the world over for you. I have yearned for you. For a creature whose darkness rivals my own.” He eyed her mark. “You have been tasted.”
”He was…”
”Unworthy. He let you go. But the embrace ... his bite ... you remember.” He licked his lips in anticipation.
”No. It wasn’t like that…It was complicated…”
”Do not fight. I can feel your hunger.”

“Buffy! You okay?” Willow asked.
Buffy grinned. ”Yeah. Chock full of free will.”
”And Dracula?” Giles questioned polishing his glasses to a brilliant shine.
”Eurotrashed.”

“MOMMY!” The young mother opened her ears to a sound she had never heard before, even though it felt like she had fel felt like this was really her life and not something that was placed upon her because of who she was.
She looked into her daughter’s crystal blue eyes. ‘Exactly like her father.’ Pain gripped her heart mind and soul, bringing it all back. ‘Dawn’s ’ Everything. She took a deep breath and remembered as she got her daughter ready for daycare like this was a normal everyday occurrence. Little did she know that her life just changed in a fundamental way. She had been sent the key.
