Who wouldn't want him?

It was dark, like night always was. But for some reason, this night seemed darker. Hmm, Buffy thought, hope there isn't some weirdness about to ensue. She knew though, that there was in fact, weirdness about to ensue.

The air around her crackled, and she was instantly on alert. She looked from side to side, only seeing the tombstones of those around her, and Spike's crypt up ahead a ways. She dove out of the way just as a lightning bolt struck to the ground. Only it wasn't completely a lightning bolt, because where the ground should have been parched and electrified, there was only a girl.

Spike appeared suddenly as well. Buffy looked at him with her patented "your not wanted here" look then walked over to the girl to investigate. She was sitting up now, shaking her head.

"Are you ok?" Buffy asked her.

"I guess. What happened? And where am I? And who are you?" questions came pouring from her mouth.

"Don't know, a graveyard, and I'm Buffy, but who are you?"

"Me?'m..'m.....umm......" the girl suddenly looked very confused and afraid. "I don't remember who I am." She looked about to break into tears.

"Its alright girl," Spike said, butting in, "I'm sure you'll remember eventually." Turning to Buffy he said, "Maybe we should take her to Giles, you know, the whole spell thing and all"

"But we don't even know it was a spell!"

"But what else would it be? Don't be such a bint, first there was nothing, then snap, crackle, pop and there she was!"

The girl stopped listening to the conversation as the short, feisty, blond started yelling and arguing with the taller, gorgeous, platinum blond. *Wow, is he something*, she thought, *I'd do him in a second. Whoa, hold on a second, more important things to do here,* she thought as she started to concentrate on her situation. *Here she was in a cemetery with 2 strangers arguing over her. And she couldn't remember anything, or could she?* She stopped and thought hard. *I remember sitting down to supper, and eating. Then going up to my room to do homework. I was listening to music on my computer, when suddenly the power flickered, then pow!*
"I remember!" she cried out, startling the pair out of their argument.

"Remember what?" Buffy asked her.

"What happened! I was sitting at my computer, listening to some music in my dorm room at school, when suddenly the power flickered. Then wham, here I was. Would a spell have pulled me into this world? Or pushed me out of mine?" she asked.

"I'm not the one to ask here. But it sounds like a possibility. Do you happen to remember your name?"

"Ummm....give me a sec....oh wait! I've got my student ID in my pocket." She took it out and looked at it, and the picture. Holding it up to Buffy she said "Is this really me? Is this what I look like?"

"Yeah, its you. Jessica it is then. Lets take you somewhere else. This grave yard is getting uber creepy."

"Uh sure. Where are we going?" Jessica said as she tried to stand up, only to realize her legs were too weak to support her as she tumbled back to the ground. "Guess I'm not going anywhere."

"Don't be silly, here lean on me." Spike volunteered, with a certain look in his eye.

"Oh no, Spike, you are leaving. Right now."

"Look, you need me to take her so you can fight off any baddies that come up. We don't know why she's here; maybe she was summoned by someth Sh She needs our protection."

"Oh, fine, help then," said Buffy not wanting to argue.

Jessica leaned up against Spike's muscular frame, lacing her arm around his neck. Damn, he really is as well built as he looks. They had similar frames, with Jessica only slightly shorter than Spike. They looked like exact opposites though, with Jessica's long brown hair and muddy brown eyes. With Buffy strolling slightly ahead, the pair looked like a couple out for an evening stroll. *I could go on like this forever!* She thought placidly. *I wonder if he feels any of this.* She turned her head slightly to gaze into his piercing blue eyes. Guess not.

Little did she realize though, that the vampire she was leaning on was trying very hard to mask heelieelings at having the attractive brunette's curves brushing against his side. Too soon, Giles' house came into view and the three ventured inside.

"Hey Giles!" Buffy yelled. "Got a problem for ya".

"Yes, I'll be down in a second Buffy" A few seconds later, the man appeared, wiping his glasses on his shirt. "Now what is it..."his sentence trailed off as he saw Spike, with Jessica still leaning against him. "Spike, what are you doing here? And who is this?"

"This, Giles, is Jessica. And she has no idea why she's here, but we are suspecting a spell. We should probably talk to Willow. I was out patrolling when poof! Crackly air and then lightning bolt. Then there she was, right in the middle of the graveyard. At first she didn't remember anything, but we've pretty much gathered that she got sucked away from her room while at her computer."

"Well that is interesting, isn't it? I will definitely have to contact Willow, and consult the books. But for now, we should find you someplace safe to stay. You are more than welcome to stay here..."

Spike interrupted him saying, "A lot of bloody good that would do her, when whoever cast the spell comes a callin'. She needs someone to protect her, incase."

"In this case, Spike, you are right. Someone had to have cast that spell. So its either with you or Buffy."

"She's more than welcome to come with me" said both at the same time. They then turned and glared at each other.

"Perhaps we should ask Jessica what she would like to do, who she would feel safer with," Giles intervened.

"Hey, I don't mean to start a war here or anything. I don't want to be a burden, and I can takee ofe of myself. I'll just find a hotel somewhere..."

"And pay with what?" Spike asked. "I don't see a wallet anywhere in those tight jeans.
Jessica blushed a bit, and feeling her pockets confirmed Spike's observation. "Well, I'll pick the lock or something....Ok, bad idea, I know. I really don't want to be a burden on you gthouthough. It's bad enough you are gonna be trying to help me out. Buffy, no offense, but your so tiny I don't see how you'd be able to protect me from much of anything. So I guess I'll go with Spike."

"Are you sure that's such a good idea?" Buffy said holding back her anger about her abilities being doubted, then she and Giles argued back and forth a bit, finally coming to the conclusion that Spike was in fact the best choice, for the safety of everyone else.

"Well alright everyone, we're off then. Good luck with the books and such," Spike said as he pulled Jessica out with him.

"That was interesting," she said.

"Yeah, you should see the whole squad, like the bleedin scoobies they are." He paused for a bit, still semi-dragging her along. "Do you think you can walk now?"
She took her arm off of Spike's shoulders and tried to stay upright. That didn't go tos bad, so she tried to take a step, only to fall right into Spike's outstretched arms.

"Guess not. It's ok luv, I'm sure your strength will come back in no time."
Till then I'll just have to lean on you, you hot thing. She thought to herself. The walk back to the crypt was filled with general small talk, mostly because Jessica was still somewhat groggy, and partly because she couldn't get her mind off the sexy body beside her. As they approached the graveyard Jessica said, "Whoa, what are we doing back here? This is the graveyard."

"Yea, I know. And here is where I live." He opened up the door to the crypt led led her inside.

"You live in a crypt. In a graveyard. That's just creepy. Do you get some kind of sick pleasure from this or something?"

"Now hold on luv, before you go accusing me of all sorts of nasties, you need to know something."
