Summary: Willow does a spell on Xander that doesn’t go as planned. Now Xander is somewhere else and way younger then he was the last time he checked in the mirror. Spike/Xander going to be child friend thing later though.

Severus glared at the teenager as he was given the repugnant smelling food and his change. He was mentally thinking of every torture technique he knew. He needed to be prepared for Weasely’s future detention’s after-all. Giving the girl behind the counter one last glare he took the food and walked calmly away from the food stand, just another child walking through the park.

Xander smiled happily as he pulled Nathaniel and Zane along behind him. He was having fun! This morning they took a stroll in the park, played ball, then came to the zoo. Already they had visited the bear inclosure, the alligators, and the tigers! Now they were heading toward the hyena exhibit. Running ahead Xander giggled as he entered the door made to look like a cave entrance. Climbing onto the railing Xander leaned down and looked at the hyena pack below him. There were six in all, four males and two females. The alpha female’s belly was swollen with milk and as she left the cave two suckling cubs followed her. She growled at Xander as she looked up.



~Who ‘r you?~



Xander smiled and let out a laugh, high pitched and eerie. That laugh made all the hyena’s look up at Xander with interest. ~Little Queen, what’re you doin here? And alone? Unprotected?!! Your pack fools?!~ Growled the large alpha female as she walked closer to the wall Xander was at.



Xander giggled. *Not fools. Here. They’re here, behind me. All around! I’m making my pack bigger!*



The female perked her ear’s up. ~Join? Please? We’ll protect Little Queen. Powerful little queen.~



*Ok. I’ll come bac’ later. See ya! Bye-bye.*



Leaving the exhibit Xander found his were leopards in a panic. “Xander! Where were you?!” Xander smiled as Zane picked him up. Xander just shrugged then snuggled into the were’s arms.

Zane and Nathaniel shared a worried look. Through their zoo visit they had kept track of Xander through sight and smell. In that moment they had lost him, he had disappeared from both senses. Like he no longer existed. In a panic they had asked others, no one had seen the little boy til Xander had exited the hyena pen.



Neither were could explain how Xander could have disappeared so fully from them. Zane looked at his watch and sighed. “Hey, little man. We should get you home soon. It’s already noon.”

Richard smiled as the door opened and closed, it looked like Xander and the two leopards were back. He just got up from his chair when the sweet/bitter sent of Anita reached his nose. His smiled dimmed. “Hello Anita.”



“Richard. I wanted to talk to you. About the boy.” She said with a frown.



His smile dropped completely. “What about him?!”



Anita glared at Richard’s tone. “I think I should take him to the station. There’s been some powerful earth magic popping up, it leaves damage in its wake. The kid’s magic and this unknown one are similar. I think it would be best if I take him in.”



“No.” Richard set his jaw.



“Richard.” Glare.



“No! He’s some sort of were! You know what happens to were’s in the governments system! So no!” He turned his back on her and went to his desk, back to the book he was reading before she had come over.



“Richard! You know I’d take care of him!!! I won’t let anything happen to him.” She growled.



“No. He’s pack. He stays with pack.” He said as he got into her face.



“Richard listen to yourself!!! You’re far too attached!! What are you going to do when his family comes looking for him?! Runaway?! It’s best you give him up now! Let me take him to the station.” She said as she placed a gentle hand on his cheek.



“Get out of my house Anita.” He growled. Richard watched her leave his home in a huff with something close to wistfulness in his eyes. He knew she was right. He was attached to the little child he had found in a box. Richard’s inner wolf thought of Xander as his cub, a piece of his family. Now all he needed was a mate, then he’d have a perfect family. *sigh*



Turning on the tv, Richard tried to get his mind off of Anita and the world in general. Taking a sip of his tea Richard almost choked on it when an emergency news broadcast came on about the zoo. The zoo was in chaos! All the animals had escaped their cages. Grabbing his coat Richard rushed to the door only to be tackled by the very child he was worried about.

As they pulled into the drive way Xander unbuckled his own belt and got out of Zane’s car. Both wereleopards were quiet. Xander could feel the worry and confusion coming off them in waves but was too excited to worry about it right now. He was going to meet his daddy’s poofy vampires, and his new friends were supposed to ‘pop’ up sooner or later.



Entering the house Xander slammed the door and yelled loudly. “DADDY I’M HOME!!!!” He squealed as he jumped into Richard’s arms. Richard seamed worried as he gathered Xander up and checked him over for wounds.



“Are you all ok?”



Nathaniel and Zane looked at Richard with confusion written on their faces. Confusion also colored Richard’s fine angled face. “You didn’t see all the animals get out of the zoo? People were running and screaming! Cops everywhere?! You two didn’t see it?”



Head shakes no.



“The police and zoo handlers were gathering the animals back up! But they disappeared! I saw it all on the news!”



“We must have left before it happened.” Said Nathaniel softly.



Richard sighed as he held Xander tight. This is why he never became a father! He was going to worry himself to death, he was sure of it!

At the zoo

Anita pulled at her hair as she got out of her borrowed cop car. “What the HELL is happening!!!”



Animals disappearing! Holes appearing!! Her car getting swallowed up by magic. Now she was studying another hole that took a tree and half of a frog cage. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t in the middle of an animal breakout.



Rrrrribbbit! Rrrrribbbit! A large green frog jumped onto her shoe. Anita wanted to scream.

On another world

“AAAHHHHHH!!!” Screamed Willow as she tried to bat the little frog out of her hair. One portal after another things popped out of them, but not the things they were looking for.



Giles rubbed his temples. “Congratulation’s ladies! You’ve brought us dirt, a severed demon’s head, a zebra, a jeep, a tree, and frogs. Tell me now what else do you want to call up from this other world? How about a camel? Or a plaque of locusts?!” Giles said in a very Ripper voice.



Tara winced. “I-I told y-you the s-s-spell is random! It goes w-where the o-others were l-last!”



Hermione nodded. But said nothing, since the vein in Mr.Giles forehead was throbbing. Ron was about to open his mouth an say something, but Hermione saved him. Her muting charm probably saved his life. Ripper was just itching for someone to yell at.



Willow ran passed again, the little tree frog sitting comfortable on her head. This time Tara chased after her. “Wait baby! Hold still! I’ll get it!!”



Ripper growled. "Bloody hell!! This day is just getting better and better. It may just be the worst night I’ve ever had!!!"



Spike, Sev, and the boys, had only been gone for fifteen minutes now. Everything was in chaos! The Magic Box was a mess and there was a zebra eating his plants!! The portal just kept popping out stuff!

Driving to Dr. Lillian’s Richard sighed. He was nervous about what she had to tell him. She was being so secretive. Parking the car Richard helped Xander out and even held Mr. Bear for the little boy as he righted his clothing. Taking little Xander’s hand, Richard entered the doctors little office. “Hello?”



It didn’t appear as if she was around. “Hello? Dr. Lillian?!”



“I’m in the backroom! Just wait in there a moment! I’ll be right with you.”



Sitting down with Xander in his lap Richard waited. A moment later Dr. Lillian came out into the lobby carrying a thick folder. “Sorry. I lost track of time.”



“No problem.”



“Well I have some . . . information here for you.” She tapped the folder as she lead the wolf leader and the young child to an examination room.



“Is anything wrong?” Richard asked with little frown creasing his brow.



“Um . . . Not per say. Well . . . Look.” She said as she handed the folder to Richard.



“What’s this?!” He whispered to Dr. Lillian since Xander was sitting off the way playing with his stuffed animal. Richard read through the folder again. It had to be wrong. But the letters on the paper didn’t change. It said in plain black and white that he was Xander’s father. His father. 100% right. He . . . H-he was a dad.



“ I-I’m a f-father! A real one!! *squeak* Xander is m-my . . . M-m-my s-*faint*” Thump!



Dr. Lillian blinked. “Oh dear!”



Xander stood next to her. Then looked up at the grayish haired woman. “Did you’d call ‘im daddy? He do ‘hat when you call ‘im daddy.”

Note: Anita-world moves a lot faster then the slayer-verse. So they can be gone for days in the new world and only hours in Buffy’s world.

Next Chapter: Vamps next. Asher and JC meet Xander. We find out where the zoo animals went. Learn a little more about Xan’s unknown power. Spike, Sev, Har, and Drake, meet Anita and some cops. ^_^
