“They won’t find out.” Xander injected “I have a plan, I expected some thing like this to happen but not so soon however with the right help I might be able to pull it off in time.”
Xander reached over to the end table and extracted a note pad from one of the draws.
“I need you to call these people and tell them Alpha needs them at base three and that we have a code one situation.”
He handed the pad to Spike after writing out six names and numbers on it.
“When you’ve finished come over to the garage I’ll leave the door open for you.”
Spike stared after Xander in surprise then glanced down at the note pad in his hand.
Growling under his breath about being used as an errand boy he reached for the phone and started calling the numbers Xander had written down. The first two numbers were the only ones he recognized. Red and the Watcher, On both numbers he got the answer phone and left the message that Xander had asked him to give.
The third was a solicitors firm and the forth was an accountant.
The fifth was some guy called Kyle and the sixth was some company called ‘Clean Sweep’ where a young man took the call.
Spike quickly made his way over to the garage determined to find out what Xander was up to now.
It was all well and good saying he had a plan but Spike was still worried that Dawn would be taken away. Add the fact that Xander had been lying to him for several years he wasn’t sure if he trusted him to tell him what was going on anymore.
Spike stopped just inside the garage door and watched what Xander was up to. He had got the Buffy Bot out of the cupboard and it was laid out on the workbench in the middle of the room.
Spike could see wires going to both a laptop that he had never seen before and a power line was attached to a point in the wall.
Spike made his way over to Xanders side pausing behind him as he registered that a human had just pulled up outside and was making his way to the garage.
Xander turned to face spike and smiled sadly at him.
“I hate this thing.” He said waving to wards the bot. “it looks so much like her it hurts.”
Tears started welling up in his eyes.
Spike reached out and pulled Xander into a hug and buried his face in his neck.
“I know pet, I can’t stand it myself.” (And what the fuck is going on, why the hell do I keep hugging the boy?)
Suddenly Spike was grabbed from behind and flung to the floor.
