Spike and Layla had made it back safely to his apartment. She had went back to the bedroom and started making room for her clothes. He came in and stood in the doorway. She felt his presence there. "It is okay if I move a few of your things right?" she asked. "Of course. Chunk it all out in the street. I don't care. Just as long as you move in and stay with me," he said. She looked back at him. "A simple yes would have been fine," she said. "I like to make things complicated," he said. She finished unpacking. She turned back to Spike. "Would you do me a huge favor?" Layla asked him. "Sure I will do anything within my power for you," he said coming in the room. "I feel kind of silly asking this but um will you...," she began as she looked at the floor, "Will you turn into a vampire for me?" He looked at her. "That's it?" he asked. He took her chin in his hand and brought her face up. She watched as his face transformed and his teeth grew longer. She did a sharp intake of breath after the transformation was finished. "You have no idea of how turned on I am right now," she said. "I think I have an idea," he grinned menacingly. Both Layla and Spike removed their clothes in an instant. She put her hand up to his face and traced the lines. "Spike you are one beautiful creature," she said. He tried to grab for her but she ran out of his reach. "Uh uh. I'm going to make you work for it," she said. He lunged for her again. This time she jumped onto the bed and jumped over to the other side. She ran into the next room which was the living room. She looked around. "No where to hide my pet," Spike said. He growled and she looked back at him. He was crouched ready to make his attack. When he jumped she ran past him. He grabbed her as she went by. They both toppled over on the floor. She was face down he was on top of her. "Thank you," he said. "For what?" she asked. "For making my life complete," he said. He lifted her up on her knees and entered her from behind. She grabbed the carpet and arched her back. He really got into it and bit into her shoulder drawing blood. It sent Layla over the edge and she had an explosion of an orgasm. When she came down from her passion Spike had his orgasm. They collapsed on the floor. "She trailed her hand over his chest. "You have got to do that again," she said. "Do what?" he asked. "Bite me," she said. "What?" he asked again like he didn't hear her. "Bite me," she said again. He jumped on top of her. "My pleasure," he said as he bit into the sensitive flesh of her breast. She squealed. "Spike. Oh my goodness," she said seeing stars and climaxing right there without any help. He lapped the blood off her nipple. "Am I good or what?" he asked. She opened her eyes. "Good," she breathed out.

Spike and Layla laid passed out in the bed from exhaustion. They had been in every position they could come up with and some they had invented themselves. It was now just past sundown when the phone rang. Spike opened his eye and groaned. Layla stirred beside him as she was laying on her stomach. He looked at her naked uncovered body and didn't see any of the bite marks he had made. 'She should have some on her,' he thought but the phone ringing interrupted him. He picked up the receiver, "Hullo?" "Hey Spike. It's Buffy. You guys have to come and see this. It's downtown by the school," she said. "Alright give us a few minutes," he said hanging up the phone. "Who was it?" Layla asked without even moving. "That was Buffy. She said we had to see something downtown," he said. "Can't they give us a moments peace," Layla said. She tried to sit up but grabbed her head and fell back on the bed. "I think next time we pull stunts like that we better have the paramedics waiting on us luv," Spike said. He reached for the aspirin and handed her a few after popping a few into his mouth. "Yes but I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it," she said trying to get clear of her love making hangover. They got up and Layla went and took a quick shower. She saw her body had completely healed all of the bite marks. "Interesting," she said looking into the mirror. "What is luv?" Spike asked. "I should have marks left from where you bit me last night but I don't have a one," she said. She raised her arms, looked between her legs, and even checked her butt. Nothing. "I guess my body healed itself," she said. "We might just have to start over again later," Spike said nuzzling her neck. Goose bumps spread over her body. "I will take you up on that," she said getting dressed.

Spike and Layla arrived at the school moments after Buffy called them. "Something's not right here," Spike mentioned when they made it to the school. "How observant you are," Buffy said coming up behind them. "This is where the cafeteria used to be," Buffy said. Layla looked around. All that was left was a pile of rubble. "When did this happen?" Layla asked. "Earlier," Buffy said. "Why call us out here now?" Spike asked. "I wanted to see if Layla could tell us what happened here?" Buffy asked. Layla looked surprised. Buffy was actually asking her to help by using her powers. Layla agreed. She walked up to the pile and knelt beside it. Layla picked up a few pieces. "No. I am getting nothing," she said. Then she saw something shiny and picked it up. "It was a trap," Layla said her face blank as the imaged rushed through her mind. "They were setting a trap. They ran when they saw Buffy coming," Layla said. She closed her eyes. "Who was the trap for?" Buffy asked. "I don't know. The person who set it was young and couldn't form a single thought. Everything was so jumbled up," Layla said putting down the piece of metal. "Well we know it wasn't for Buffy because they ran away. So it had to be someone else," Spike said. "Or something else. I saw a picture of a creature. It was completely purple with veins sticking out everywhere," Layla said. "Ardonot," Spike said. "They must have been trying to trap him," Buffy said talking of a local feud between the vampires and Ardonot. "At least no one was hurt," Buffy said. "It's not like they use this place anyway," Spike said. Buffy walked over to Layla and hugged her. "Thank you for coming when I called," she said. "You know I always got your back," Layla told her. "Well I need to get back to patrol. I will let you guys get back to whatever it is that you were doing before I called," Buffy said picking up her gear and leaving. "She thinks we were doing something naughty," Layla said. "Not yet," Spike said. Layla hooked her arm in his as they headed back to his apartment.

Halfway across town Layla's necklace started churning. "What's going on?" she asked. They looked around and saw no one there. All of a sudden a vampire jumped out at them. "Hello," it said. It took a swing at Spike and then ran off. "I'll be back," he told her. "Maybe you shouldn't," she said but he had already taken off after the vampire. Layla looked down and saw her necklace still churning. Some men in leather overcoats came out of the shadows. Layla recognized the outfits. "Overseers," she said aloud. "That's right Olivia. I am Mr. Carter, these are my workers, and we have come here to take you back with us. Prepare you for the battle ahead of you. Keep you from all distractions," the bigger guy with blond hair said staring off in the direction Spike went. Layla's heart sank. 'What's wrong luv?' Spike asked mentally because he felt her distress. 'They are here to get me,' she said to him. 'Who is it?' he asked. 'The overseers,' she replied. "Stay away from them. Run away Olivia. I am coming for you,' he told her. She wasn't going anywhere. Not knowing the fact that it had been Carter that killed her mother and possibly her father also. "And if I don't want to go," she said. "Well it is not like you have any choice in the matter," the one called Carter said. One of the 3 men pulled out a gun. "You can't kill me. You need me," she said. "No but we can stun you," he said as he pulled the trigger. Layla put up her shield and blocked the dart from shooting her. "So Giles was wrong. You do know how to use your powers," Carter said. "Giles called you?" Layla said. "He said you were not being a good little girl and cooperating with him so I came here to handle you myself," Carter said. Layla was mad now. She sent out bolts towards the men. Two of them were hit and fell to the ground. Carter and the man with the gun dodged. "That was not smart Ms. Parker," Carter said. "Who said I was known for being smart?" she said as she sent more electricity their way. The man with the stun gun took that as his cue. As she fired out more electricity he sent a dart her way, knowing she couldn't block it. And she wasn't able to. She had hit the man, sending him backwards, but he had also hit her with the dart. It pierced her side and she felt the effects of the drug immediately. "I am sorry it had to come to this Ms. Parker," Carter said as she swayed on her feet. She turned to try and run but her legs felt like they weighed tons. "Spike help me," she whispered. Spike felt her panicking. He had followed that vampire downtown and now he was running like the wind to get back to Layla. "Hold on luv. I am coming,' he thought to her. She fell to her knees. Layla had enough strength left to throw a shield up around her body to try and protect herself. Carter touched it. "Impressive," he said. The men were also amazed. Layla's strength finally gave out. Her shield disappeared as she passed out, falling to the ground. Spike ran through the trees in just enough time to see men gathering Layla up and sticking her in the back of a SUV. "Don't touch her," he yelled running up to them. The one guy pulled out the gun and shot Spike. "You must be the boyfriend," Carter said walking up to him. Spike tried to hit the man but couldn't. He passed out quickly. "What do we do with him?" one man asked. "Kill him?" the other one said. "No, bring him. We could use him as leverage," Carter said. The men threw Spike in and drove off with their captives.

When Layla had awakened everything was dark. It took her a moment to get her bearings. She was chained to a wall. Her hands above her head. She was blindfolded. She felt Spike's presence in the room so she called out to him. 'Spike? Are you okay?' she asked. She was afraid when she got no response. Just then a door opened and closed to the room she was in. "Olivia are you awake yet?" Carter asked. She moved a little. "Yes," was all she said. She tried to use her powers but they were not working. "What did you do to me?" she asked. "Oh yes about your powers. You won't be able to use them. We gave you a drug that confuses your senses. Leaving you powerless," he said. "She may be but I am not." She heard Spike say. Then she heard rattling of chains and some cursing as flesh hit against flesh. She heard Spike grunt. "Leave him alone Carter," she said menacingly. 'Spike are you alright?' she asked him. 'I'm fine,' was all he told her. She felt his pain and his helplessness. She felt her eyes burning. She had to see him. "Carter can you please remove this blindfold from my eyes?" she asked nicely. "I don't see why I cannot. You can't hurt any of us," he said removing the blindfold. Layla's eyes adjusted to the light. She saw Spike. He was chained to a bolt in the floor. He had been beaten. His face was bloody. "Why?" Layla asked. "He was very uncooperative," Carter said. Layla noticed the room looked sort of like a lab room or a torture room. Spike was looking at her. He wanted to break his chains but he couldn't. He had lost too much blood. His strength was gone. "Giles did forget to mention that he was a vampire. So we knew we had to be extra careful around him. Vampires have such nasty temperaments," Carter said. He walked over to a table and pulled a metal stake off of it. He held it up examining it in the light. "We have just the right tools to deal with vampires," he said walking towards Spike. Layla pulled on her chains until she felt blood trailing down her arms. "Don't you dare touch him," she said. "This relationship is not good Olivia. We never wanted you to fall in love with anyone. Especially a vampire," he said looking at Spike. "That is why all of the slayers have failed. They couldn't do what needed to be done," he added. "And what is that?" Layla asked never taking her eyes off of Spike. "What you are going to be doing for us," he said. Layla knew what she was going to do. She has to get Spike out of there safely anyway she can. 'I love you baby,' she told him. He looked at her and read it in her face. 'No you can't,' he said. 'But I have no other choice,' she said. "Carter release Spike unharmed and I will stay and do whatever you want me to," she said a tear rolling down her cheek. "NO," Spike yelled. She looked down on the floor. Spike's pain was unbearable. He was fighting against his chains with no luck. They were too strong. Carter walked towards her. "You will do anything?" he asked. She looked him in the eye. "Anything," she said. He looked her in the eye. "No. You won't. I see it in your eyes. The first chance you get you will kill me. I guess this means you need a little demonstration of my hold on you," he said. He went to Spike and raised the stake. "Get away from him," Layla said. She felt her powers resurfacing. 'Spike the drug is wearing off. Get ready,' she thought. "Oh I'm ready," Spike said looking at Carter. "What are you talking about?" Carter asked confused. Layla stood up straight. "I warned you to release him. You had your chance. My mother told you just before she died that I would be back one day. I know you fear me. I have seen it in my visions. I hear it in your words to me," she said distracting him. "You can't harm me," he said getting ready to strike Spike with the stake. Layla stared at the stake. Something snapped loose from deep inside of her. The stake got hot in Carters hand and melted burning him. He opened his palm and yelled as the melted metal trailed down his hands. "Sic vis pacem para bellum," Layla said. Spike looked at her. He didn't know she could speak Latin. "If you want peace prepare for war," he said aloud. "Yes. This war is about to be over," Layla said. With that the chains binding Spike and Layla fell away. Spike jumped up and tackled Carter. More men came running into the room and pulled Spike off of Carter. Layla opened her palms. Fire engulfed her hands. Her eyes turned black. "I told you to let him go. You killed my mother and father. You tried to kill my lover. You tried to kill me. Now you must die," she said. She sent fire towards the men. They screamed in pain and agony as their clothes went up in flames. Spike grabbed another of the men and bit into him gathering strength from the man's blood. Carter tried to leave the room. Layla mentally shut the door. "No don't hurt me," he begged. She didn't listen. Her anger had taken control of her body. She raised her flaming hand towards Carter. "Did you listen to my mother when she begged for her life? Did you give my father a chance to live? You will never bother me or anyone I love ever again," she said sending flames his way. He ran around the room as his clothes were on fire. The flame consumed him. There was nothing he could do. No one to help him. Everyone else was dead and now he had to let death consume him. Layla's energy had left her body with all of the anger. She collapsed. Spike caught her before she hit the floor. She looked up at him and was crying, her eyes had returned to normal. “We are fine luv. You did it. You saved us,” he said. “I’m tired Spike.” she said. He picked her up and carried her out of there. Outside he knew where they were so he headed straight for home. He looked at her sleeping in his arms and vowed the next time he saw Giles he was going to have more than words with him.
