“No problem Will. We gotta look out for each other here on the Hellmouth.” Xander smiled back. He took his ex-vengeance demon, now human girlfriend by the hand and led her out into the dark night.

“I have to be home in a few hours Spike…wanna do a quick patrol with me?” Buffy asked. ~ I’m not ready to leave you yet. ~ She thought getting slowly out of bed and pulling her clothes on.

“Yeah Luv, I want you to stay with me though…why can’t you just come back here?” Spike pouted getting out of bed and pulling on his clothes.

“I …I really want to Spike…but I left mom a note saying I’d be back before curfew.” Buffy whispered snaking her armoundound Spike’s waist. ~ I wish I could just stay here wrapped around you. ~ She sighed softly and rested her head on his shoulder.

Spike rested his chin on her head and inhaled her scent. “MMm love the way you smell…Buffy I love you so much…” He murmured rubbing his stiffening cock into her.

“I love you too Spike…come on before we start something we can’t finish right now…” She groaned pulling him along by the hand.

“We have to look for Buffy…she could be still under the affects of the spell…you saw how anxious she was Ahn…

“What?” He almost choked. “You know I love you Ahn…”

“Yeah…but you did have a thing for Buffy…maybe you still do?” She asked hurt and jealousy dripping from her words.

“Come on now…don’t be like that…” He said taking her in his arms and pulling her close.. “It’s not about how I feel…He’s evil…god he *so* doesn’t even deserve to ever have touched her…and if she wasn’t under that spell she never would have…uh I can’t even think about it. She deserves a normal guy…he’s a vampire Anya the very thing she’s supposed to *hate* and kill do you get that at all?”

Buffy felt Spike stiffen beside her at Xander’s words. She silently f at at her friend. She looked at her vampire, her gaze questioning.

“Hold up a second Pet…your friends are just up ahead…” Spike said pulling Buffy to a stop just outside the cemetery. ~ Bloody hell. She won’t tell them. ~

“I know, I can hear Xander ranting. I don’t care Spike. They need to know sooner or later that I will not tolerate them talking to you or about you like that… you don’t deserve it. I want to tell them all. What better time than now?” She questioned trying to pull him in the direction Xander’s voice was coming from.

“Buffy…are you sure you’re ready for that? The accusations and all that rot?” Spike was scared that she was just putting on a brave face. He could hear her heart beating a mile a minute. ~ I don’t want to push her anymore than I already have. ~ He thought silently.

“Spike I want them to know. I want everyone to know. I love you, and I don’t…I won’t hide it anymore. Not ever again.” She said leaning in to kiss him passionately.

Spike broke the kiss and looked into her eyes. He saw nothing but truth in them. He nodded and grabbed her hand, leading her through the trees to her friends.

“Hey Xander, Anya.” Buffy smiled brightly holding a deathgrip on her vampire’s hand. ~ It’ll be ok. It’s my choice. They have to accept it. ~

“Buffy?” Xander’s jaw dropped open. ~ She’s holding his hand. ~ He thought unbelievingly.

“Xander close your mouth.” Anya said poking him in the side.

Xander snapped his mouth shut and turned his beady eyes to Spike. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” He asked the grinning Vampire.

“Anything my girl wants mate.” Spike smirked.

“Spike…play nice.” Buffy whispered giving him a quick smile. She turned in Xander’s direction. “Xander…I love Spike. We are…a couple.” Buffy smiled at Spike and clutched his hand tighter. ~ Good thing I he’s not human. His poor hand would be broken by now. ~

“Buffy you can’t be serious…you let that …that thing…touch you…” Xander trailed off his face going white at seeing Spike’s bite on her neck. “You bastard!” He shouted punching Spike in the nose. “Buffy how could you?” He questioned, horror in his slowly widening eyes.

“Bloody hell whelp…” Spike growled clutching his now bleeding nose.

“Xander Harris what is your problem?” Buffy asked stepping in between the testosterone driven man and her vampire. He took a step towards Buffy. Spike’s menacing growl std hid him in his tracks


“He bit you Buffy…how did he do that? Were you going to tell us that the chip stopped working?” He shouted pointing at Spike’s mark upon her skin, spittle flying in every direction.

“Xander it didn’t. The chip still works.” Buffy’s words were cut off by Xander’s continued shouting.

“You put us all in danger Buffy…I…I can’t trust your judgement anymore.” He screamed pulling a stake from the waistband of his jeans he tried to get around Buffy. “Somebody needs to do it…dust him for you.”

“Xander Stop it!” She screamed and pushed him roughly away from them. “You don’t…you have *no* idea how much he means to me, you ever threaten him again…”

Xander stumbled and fell to the ground. He was shocked. ~ He turned her against us. ~ “Buffy don’t kid yourself…Spike can’t love you. He can’t feel…and one day…I’ll prove that to you. I don’t know why you’re defending him…but I will find out.” Xander said angrily. Turning on his heel he grabbed Anya’s hand and pulled her along behind him.

Anya turned and gave one last sad look to the couple.

“I’m sorry Spike.” Buffy said turning to look into Spikes ~ Smiling? ~ Face. “Uh…that didn’t go so well why are you smiling?” She questioned.

“Buffy…Luv…you meant it…you really did.” Spike growled grabbing her and pulling her into a bruising kiss. He couldn’t help it, his demon surged forward.

Buffy felt his fangs grazing her lips and then the gentle pressure of him licking away the drops of blood that had collected on her tingling mouth. ~ Mmm so gentle. ~

She slid her tongue into his mouth and purposely pricked her tongue on one of his descended fangs.

Spike growled hungrily and sucked gently on her tongue, her rich blood coating his throat. ~ My girl. ~ He thought happily.

They broke apart panting. “Of course I meant it you silly vampire. I love you.” She said leaning in for another kiss.

“I just thought…I thought you’d change your mind when…” Spike trailed off. “Doesn’t matter Luv. All that matters is you are in my arms…and that’s where you want to be.”

“GILES!!!” Xander shouted running into the watcher’s flat at breakneck speed. Anya trailed behind him panting.

“What is it Xander? Is it Buffy?” Giles asked. He ripped his glasses off and polished them anxiously.

Willow sat up from her spot on the couch and rubbed her sleepy eyes. “Xander? What’s going on did you find her?”

“Yeah. I found her alright. Something’s really wrong with her…she says she’s in love with Spike.” He said gesturing wildly.

“There’s nothing *wrong* with her Xander.” Anya spoke for the first time since telling him to close his mouth.

“Anya didn’t you see it…he *BIT* her!” Xander screamed in frustration.

“Yeah. He did. Again. If you paid any attention Xander you would have realized a few things. First, they flirted all the time before they got together, they just hid behind their threats, second he bit her before Willow did her spell and he didn’t kill her. Third, she bit him too…or did you fail to notice that?”

“No she didn’t she wouldn’t…” Xander said angrily.

“Xander…if you can’t face the truth about your friends you’ll never be able to face the truth about me. Goodbye.” Anya sobbed running out of Giles house hot tears streaming down her face.

Xander turned to face Giles and the shocked expression on his face told him his girlfriend would have to wait.
He flopped down on the couch and told Giles and Willow exactly what happened at the cemetery.

Buffy and Spike softly kissed goodbye. “I’ll see you tomorrow Kitten. You’d better get inside before your mum comes out looking.”

“Kay. Night Spike.” Buffy murmured softly leaning in for another kiss.

They were so wrapped up in each other neither of them noticed Joyce watching from the living room window.

Anya ran until her breath was coming in short little gasps. She stopped and bent over inhaling deeply.
~ Stupid Xander. He’s so blind. Why does he refuse to accept what’s right in front os sts stupid beady eyes? ~ She wondered

Anya started walking slowly down the street. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts she didn’t notice the two vampire’s following her as she turned the corner.
