Surprises

"Faith! Faith please say something!"...

What hell is happening to me?...

"Faith please!" Rayne is kneeling over me, shouting in my face, and yet, she sounds so far away through the swirling that's surronding me. Was it a spell? Is there a demon in here? What was it? I've never felt anyhting like it, so much damn pain and relief at the same time, is it even possible?

I feel like I'm on fire from the inside, and like I'm about to have a fucking heart attack, I can't breathe right.

I don't know what happened. I was just standing there, talking to Rayne when suddenly I couldn't get enough oxygen, and it felt like a bomb had gone off inside my body, and for some reason I found myself worried about B, not myself. It was just to sudden, it felt phantom, but real all at the same time, the way our connection feels...

Oh my god. What if B was out there fighting vampires when this happened? What if they-

"Fuck." I feel like I got runned over by a train and I'm trying to do a sit up, but I get to a sitting position. "A little... help here." My teeth are clenched to keep myself from screaming loud enough to wake the dead. I must look like an angry bull.

Rayne takes a moment to look at me carefully, holding me upright from my waist. She looks so scared, it was probably worse than I thought.

"Faith, ar-are you sure you wanna do that?"

Poor kid, she sounds and looks like she's about to faint. I can only imgaine what she must be going through, she sure as hell doesn't need me scaring her too.

"I'm sure. So help me up."

She hesistates, then rises to her feet, lifting me up slowly and very gently. I can see why Dawn would have gone with someone like her. She was a puppy lover, which means someone she loved to cuddle, loved Rayne being gentle with her, and loved to boss her around.

I thing I cringe or something, Rayne scoops me up easily, gives a final longing look at Dawn's body and whispers something I don't catch.

"Um, what are you doing?" What? I can be confused as I want to be.

The vampire starts exiting the morgue, stringing me along with her. She isn't seriously ganna carry me all the way is she?

"I'm taking you home. Something happened in there, something big, it wasn't just you. And I can't have you running around like this. Dawn would kill me if I let anything happen to you." She says the last part softly, looking away.

"Rayne... I'm so sorry. I...I can't tell you how guilty I feel about this."

"Why Faith?"

Why? Again, is she serious? Dawn was like my own little sister, especially after Buffy and I got together, the three of were almost unseperable. Until Rayne showed up that is, but even then, it seemed Dawnie always found a way to spend some time with me alone everyday. I loved little bit.

"Because I could have stopped Angelus. God I'm so fucking stupid! I'm a fucking vampire slayer, and yet I couldn't sense Angelus. Dawn-"

"Wouldn't have blamed you." Rayne leaps over a massive puddle, I recognize this part of town, we're close to the Magic Box, why is she heading there? I didn't ask her to. Talk about puzzled. "Angel is Angelus, you couldn't possibly have known. Even though, instead of telling me how fucking crazy I was for wanting to take off with Dawn that night, stopping me from taking her out to dinner-"

"You knew it was Angelus..." Son of a bitch. I knew you couldn't trust vampires one bit. I'll make sure to let B know that when I see her. I start struggling against Rayne, squirming in her arms until she has no choice but to put me down. God I wish I wasn't feeling like shit right about now, I'd kick her ass. "You knew and you didn't fucking tell us?!"

She looks at me through her bangs, silver eyes betrayed, "You should have known. Wasn't it just a little odd that I was all beat up and Angel didn't have a scratch on him when supposedly he got attacked? Didn't you see his lips, just a little redder than usual? Are you that fucking stupid?!"

Okay, pissed off vampire. I take a deep breath, I can do that know, the pain is becoming dull, and my heart's not about to rip free from my chest. "Rayne, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. But-"

"But fuck! You fucking left us alone with him! Dawn and I, you told us to go home, you told Angelus to go! What's worse, I could have saved her! And you didn't let me! So now she's fucking gone Faith, but you only seem to care that it wasn't you who go to play the superhero." Her voice drops in a deadly dip.

I don't care whose girlfriend she is, she comes at me, I'm staking her. "Rayne-"

"Don't say anything," she's calming down, good, this girl has worse mood swings than I use to. "Lets just get you to Giles so I can go find Angelus." She starts walking again, not bothering to wait for me this time.

I know I rubbed salt and lime in the wound but, she knew, she knew it was Angelus, why wouldn't she tell us if she knew? I don't understand what the hell is going on, I do know that we agree on something, Angelus is dead when we find him. I'm pretty sure she, Buffy, and I are ganna have to draw straws to see who gets him, maybe Red too.

Buffy...

God I hope they found her. I don't know what it is, but there's this sudden sense of complete lonliness overfilling me, and I have to resist the urge to hang on to Rayne. I feel like something was ripped away from me somehow, something's not right.

Rayne opens the door to the Magic Box just as Willow and the rest turn around the bend. I wish it wasn't so depressing around here, I would have laughed at them, the Scoobies all look like drowned rats, though I must admitt I'm no better off if not worse.

"I see you found Rayne." Giles states the obvious as he steps inside, ushering the rest of us in.

Everyone sort of just stands around, looking pretty bleek, and it's now that I notice Buffy is not with them. I'm about to ask but Rayne beats me to it.

"Where's Buffy?" I'm not sure I agree with her tone of voice, it reminds me that I'm supposed to be killing her, not harbouring her.

Giles, ever the british tweed, clears his throat, cleans his glasses before setting them ever so carefully on his nose. "We, well, we didn't find her..." her trails off, his sentence not yet finished.

"But?" I urge him. Something dawns on me. I think may just have had that heart attack. Our slayer connection... I haven't been able to feel it since the hospital. I can't feel B.

"There was a trace of blood near Joyce's grave."

It is all this time that Rayne seems to drop the bitchyness, and instead settles to hold my arm, she must see my knees wobbling like jelly. I'm not sure what Giles is trying to say, but I know what my one tracked mind is thinking.

"Now Faith, there's no possible way to know for sure if anything happened, or if indeed it was Buffy okay?"

Red. I wish she'd shut up.

"But we can know for sure." I guess vampires are good for something else besides staking. "Rayne? Please?"

I'm asking alot, but I don't give a flying fuck, I need to find Buffy.

"Lets go then."

---------------------------

(Angelus)

"Are you sure this will work?"

That little british vampire Molly, nods most assured, if it doesn't, I'll break a bone in her body for every second she gets it wrong. My would be rag doll starts chanting something in latin under her breath, a mist surronding us, growing heavier with each word.

I never really understood the whole reading and writing crap, I'm more of a hands on guy type of guy, just ask the slayer thrashing about in chains.

"I'm really ganna enjoy the stake that goes through your heart." Buffy spits at me with disgust, too bad it only gets me hungry watching her do that. I lean over the little shackled slayer, dragging my fingertips over her lip. "Don't touch me."

"Oh," I pop the finger in my mouth. I know truly understand what Spike was feeling back then. "I'll be doing so much more than touching you slayer," my voice is low, gutural, unsated hunger burning in my veins. "I'll stroke you, I'll devour you, I'll make you my creation."

The slayer launches, a quick blurred movement of her leg kicking out to catch my knee, knocking me to the floor laughing. She can't do much more with the magical restraints in place. Laughing, I roll onto my side facing Buffy. The girl's on overdrive, ready to pop, I would enjoy that very much.

"Ya know slayer, I was wrong. I guess Faith's not the only one who can give me a good time, you're doing just fine, struggling, spitting around, you're a little wildcat. I like that."

"Don't mention her again," she warns me, her voice sending a plesant shiver down my back. This gets me off, taunting the slayers, it's a pure rush, the way a human taunts a cobra.

Proping my head up with my arm I lean just a little close towards her, grinning from ear to ear, "Oh, you mean, Faith?" The slayer's face turns three different kinds of red, I think I'll play with her a little longer. "So did I ever tell you what the beast did to good ol Faithy? No? Well I tell ya."

"Shut up."

"So the idiots in Angel Investigations start freaking out cuz they heard the big scary beast is coming, so they release me, and all hell breaks loose. And dear old Wes, you remember Wes don't cha, he goes and breaks sweet innocent little slayer out of jail to capture me. But, hey, you know me, not much for going down quietly," I sit crossed legged, tapping the slayer's chin, "as I recall neither are you."

"But anyways, so Faith shows up with a crossbow thinking she's all badass so I introduce her to rockie. God, the look on her pretty little face, she looked just the scared little girl she is. The beast, tore her up nicely, beat her up nice and good, like a meat tenderizer. Poor little Faithy, she was all covered in blood, on her face, in her hair, rolling down her neck, in her shirt, out of her mouth, it was bloodfest! And don't even get me started on the expression on her face, slayer, it was priceless. I've seen roadkill looking better." It's not I realize my mistake, I sigh, "I should've waited until he completely thrashed her before I killed him. And do you know how good she taste? Wait what am I talking about, of course you do. So tell me, is she as good as she looks?"

Buffy starts thrashing against the shackles again, cutting into the flesh at her wrists, making my nostrils flare from the heavy scent of her blood. I want her so bad, but I'd rather keep her around for later, blood always taste better when it's been abused.

"It's ready. I hope you know master will not be happy with this Angelus."

"Just do it." I growl, barely containing myself.

Molly steps over Buffy, dropping down on her, straddling her thighs, using an old friend's dagger to cut a small hole into the slayer's chest over her heart.

"What the hell are you doing?" The slayer squeaks, fear flashing in her green eyes, now she's getting the gist. "Stop it!" She increases her jerking about, hissing as the knife cuts in deeper.

"I wouldn't move so much, I might over shoot it and stab your heart." Molly informs her, the slayer instantly freezing. "That's better. Almost done." The ex potential removes a dime sized and shaped crystal from a pouch, examening it in the light before ramming it heartlessly into the small deep wopund.

"Ahhh, shit!" Buffy screams, the flesh growing over the wound, as if it were never even there, and the fog starts clearing.

Molly backs away, watching her intently.

"Did it work?"

She shruggs, "Tell her to do something."

"What?" Buffy whimpers, eyes wide.

"Kill her." I sneer, backing away to watch.

"What? I'm not your damn slave! You're going to die very soon an- What!?"

Seemingly in the blink of an eye, the slayer broke the shackles, snatched the dagger away from Molly and dusted her. Amazing. "Very nice." I praise the pile of dust, admiring the stock still slayer in front of me. "Very nice indeed." She's trained on the dagger in her hand, the familiar shapes, the crusted blood, the black smooth handle.

"W-where, where did you get this?" She asks, a quiver in her voice. If I had a spirit it would be soaring very high right about now, the slayer's pain brings me joy.

"Oh? Recognize it? I mean come on, you gutted your girlfriend with it didn't you?"

Buffy turns teary eyes to me, "How?"

I shrugg, brushing off vampire ashes and dried slayer blood from my jacket, I like this thing. "The school. Say? I have an idea. Why don't you go return it to ti's rightful owner?" I ask, clapping my hands together, giddy with the thought.

"No."

"No?"

"No."

"My little slayer, still defiant. Go and stick that knife where it belongs." I order, majorly impressed when the slayer's body starts heading out, all the while Buffy is shouting idle threats at me. This will be fun."

-------------------------------------------

Kennedy paces about over the same graves nervously, her eyes keeping wary watch over Willow as the sun goes down over Sunnydale. She can't shake the horrible feeling that's settled in the pit of her stomach out of nowhere. Even the scythe in her hands isn't enough to calm the distressed girl, something about the night just doesn't feel right, and she's pretty sure the skittish watcher next to her feels the exact same way as her.

"I can't believe you talked me into letting you come out here."

"Pfft," Willow scoffs softly, trying to not disturb her silenced friends. "it's not like you could have stopped me even if you tried."

Kennedy is amazed by her girlfriend's confedence, "Really?"

"Really."

"I guess. But something feels wrong about this." Her hold on the scythe tightens again, her palm clammy around the metal.

"Of course it feels wrong Kennedy. Dawn just died, Angelus is out on the loose, Buffy's missing, and we have two very dangerous girls walking about all willy nilly and grrr, and arghh."

Kennedy smiles, amused by the wicca's tatics. Willow blushes, taking longer strides, effectively placing her besides Giles and several feet ahead of Kennedy.

Giles was seriously thinking about heading back to the mother contry after this was all over. Despite the fact that the hellmouth was destroyed, or partially detroyed anyways, there was never a dull moment when someone was close to Buffy Summers.

He can feel himself becoming older, wearing with his age, the blond on his hair is mostly grey know, and everytime he sees the young ones around him, it makes jealous to see them at such a tender, sweet age, the best age of his life. He can't help but feel older when they run about wildly, jumping fences, running from mobs of vampires while all he can do it drive the get away car or give them information.

"So," Willow starts uncertainly, "what do you think is ganna happen? I mean what with Buffy all mia, and Faith all grrr, and Rayne's teeth all," she swallows when the aforementioned girl takes a second to glance over her shoulder, an expression cold as ice as her mask, "pointy." The last part comes out in a high pitched squeak. The wicca's brows knit together.

'And even now, there's hope for me yet.' Giles thinks, fond of the once shy redhead.

It amazed him how much all of his children had grown and matured over the spand of four years. The once shy and unsure Willow, bothered by the thought of being late to first period, was now one of the most powerful witches ever, beautiful and confident, always certain now. Xander had gone from doing the doughnut runs to straight battling. He was now a responsible young man, with his trademark boyish grins and jokes, but with a maturatiy that surpassed most the boys his age and alot of men. Faith was the one that shocked him the most, but it was in a good way.

She strode into town with her head not completely on her shoulders the first time around. He was bothered by the girls innuendos and over all sex appeal eerytime he saw her, and her live the moment attitude had him worried more than his fair share of times that she would get Buffy hurt. The night Allen was killed, it had been too much for her, and at such a young age as well. It caused her to shut down, and that's when the mayor came in, took her, molded her to his will, and nearly got her killed because of it. When she awoke from her coma it had been the same deal. It took nearly killing Angel for the girl to finally snap and realize. And when she came back a year later, the changes were visibly there. No longer was the girl hiding into herself, shutting people down, and going off bombs galore. She had matured so much, changed so much emotionally, mentally, and even physically. No longer did she saunter and walk about selling herself off, picking up the first person she saw, teasing. No, everyone could see even if at first they had been reluctant to.

Rupert Giles was proud to say he was the watcher of the chosen two because of that. But there was still more. There was Buffy, the young, spirited blond girl he'd met so long ago. She had been innocent, untainted, and she was loving her life at first. But gradually, as situations came about and went, everytime taking something from her, she changed, changed into the slayer, changed into she alone. No longer was there the happy cheerful teenager, but a hard, experienced killer of the dead, the slayer.

It scared Giles to think he'd met one girl, and changed her into a completely different person, and not a very good way. He'd always enjoyed Buffy's jokes and sometimes dumb questions, he'd enjoyed her banters about school or Cordelia's attitude, or about her lack of stylish clothing. But him, being a watcher never did admitt it, and now he was paying the price of taking such a small thing for granted. It was true, you never do know what you truly have until you lose it.

Giles unbottons his jacket, handing it to shivering brunette behind him. Kennedy smiles, accepting his offer, placing the coat over his shoulders.

"Do you think Xander will be okay?" Willow thinks out loud, surprised when Giles says, "Yes." Her friend had gone to the funeral home to arrange a date for Dawn, pick out a coffin, and have her picked up from the morgue. It would be hard when the day came, especially for Buffy and Rayne, Buffy had just lost her mother not too long ago, Rayne was madly in love with the younger Summers sister, to the point that it would hurt her physically now that Dawn was...gone.

It hit her hard, right in her face, that at any moment she could die, or Kennedy could die. Slowing her stride, she waits for her girlfriend, slipping her hand into her own. "I love you. You know that right?"

Kennedy tightens her hold, but says nothing, she doesn't have to.

"So, can you smell her? Is the blood hers?" Faith questions the vampiress sulking next to her, following her deeper into the cementary.

"Faith." She stops her, a hand on her shoulder, silver eyes almost glowing in the dark.

"What?" She nearly shouts, it's killing her. They could have been there within seconds, instead it's taking them an hour to wait for the Scooby gang to trudge through the thick mud and heavy rain, her patience is running on fumes. "What is it?"

"Over there." The black haired beauty growls deep in her throat. A flash of lightning lights the blacken sky, making it seem like daylight, and Faith's eyes widen comically as the hidden object of Rayne's affection is revealed.

"Fucking a..."

"Yeah," Rayne breathes, "fucking a sounds about right."

They're at the back of the cementary, and through the gates is the vineyard. The doors are open and an endless amout of vampires seem to be streaming in and out. But that's not what has them worried. The vampires are the least of their problems. They problem is an eight foot, massive, white monster stepping out and looking around.

"Omega."

"Mega is right." Rayne shivers, feeling the power from the monster even from that distance. No wonder Buffy was freaking out, he's really a monster straight out of a vampire's worst nightmare. One of the vampires starts sniffing around, probably caught onto their scent, or at least suspecting there's someone there that's not supposed to be there. She inches back, under the cover of a tree, pulling Faith back when she doesn't budge on her own. "Faith we have to go, before they find us."

"Let them." Faith spins around to face her, a wild gleam in her eyes, excitement. "Come on Rayne, you're a fuckinng brutual fighter, I'm the slayer, we can take him out."

Rayne's mouth drops open, caught completely off guard by Faith's go in half cocked reaction. She'd heard stories of the once rogue slayer, of her teaming up with the big bad and out to kill. But before that there was Sunnydale style. When she would happen upon something and just go for it, how her natural curosity backed by slayer power always got the best of her. She knew Faith was an action girl, but what she just suggested would fall under the category of suicide.

"You know we can't that thing Faith."

"I don't know anything, we could-"

"Even if we could there's about one hundred vampires in there. By the time we finished them off, if we could indeed kill off one hundred vampires, we'd be too tired. Did you see that thing? It would just step on us."

The darl slayer glowers at the vampiress, vampires shouldn't think, why do all the vampires she meets have to be so damn logical? "Weren't you ready to start war wold three just a few minutes ago? What's stopping you now?"

"Buffy's friends are right back there Faith, if we go in there and we don't come back, they're dead too and you know it. And Angelus, I don't care if I die because he'll be dead too. Did you forget the reason I agreed to come here in the first place Faith?"

"No. But part of the reason why B is all whack right now, is that thing. If we can kill it, that's one less problem for her to worry about. You're a fucking vampire, you inspire fear, and here you are shaking in your fucking converse."

Rayne feels her fangs lengthen, her lips pulled back in an effort to keep them from getting cut, her blood's starting to pump, and the adrenaline is making her jumpy, she can smell fresh blood coming off from the direction of the vineyard. Faith hardens, ready to defend herself if need be.

"Fine, Faith. You want to die tonight?, cause it's as good a night as any. Even better, there's a storm out, it's a full moon if we could actually see it, and neither of us has any reason to stay alive. Lets go."

Faith blanches, the color draining from her olive skin, her fingers digging into the tree beside her. "What do you mean neither of us?"

Rayne shruggs, attempting to pout with a mouthful of very sharp fangs. "Well we don't. I smell Buffy's blood all over that grave we passed through, and you saw it, there's nothing else to say, so let go-" Her snaps to the side, Faith's fist catching her offguard and knocking her over onto her side.

"I should have fucking done this a long time ago." Faith kicks the vampire's back, forcing her to turn over onto her back. She straddles her stomach, fist tight and deadly as they beat down on the vampiress' face, her knuckles cutting when they graze her teeth. "You think you had it bad? I'll make you wish it had been you Angelus killed." She shouts, taking a break from her punches to grab her shoulders and pin them to the ground before lifting herself up and jamming a knee in her lower abdomin, then returning to the blows.

"I wish," another blow to the temple, "An-Angelus," an elbow into her chin, "had killed me instead."

"Well that can be arranged."

Faith leaps to her feet, her blood boiling just from the sound of his detestable voice.

Angelus crosses his arms, his trademark smirk in place, Buffy beside him, watching in horror what Faith had been doing to the younger girl.

"B?" Faith asks hopefully, her stance dropping as she takes a step closer to her blond counterpart.

"I'd stay away if I were you," Angelus warns, referring to the knife in her hands, "she's got a present for you you might just not want."

Faith catches the gleam of the knife as another wave lightning lights up the surrondings, Willow, Kennedy and Giles coming up the little bend, still chattering and unaware. "W-why do you have that B?"

"Oh I gave it to her, and she's going to kill you with it." Angelus states matter of factly.

"No I'm not." Buffy tells him, eyes wandering from Angelus' sadistic grin, to Faith's horrifed expression, to Rayne's unmoving body sprawled across the muddy ground.

"I beg to differ. Kiss me."

"What?!" Faith takes another menacing step closer, ready to laugh at Angelus' obsurd request, when Buffy leans in and almost swallows his tongue. She stops, frozen in her steps, unable to move, unable to tell if what she just saw was real or if her mind's finally packed and left. Angelus groans, biting down on Buffy's lip, drawing blood, letting it dribble down the side of his mouth.

Angelus pulls away, Buffy mortified. "Now tell me again you won't kill Faith." Buffy swipes her hand over her lips, bending over to cough and spit the horrible taste of Angelus and her blood mixed together, she can't say anything for fear he'll commander her. "How's about that? She kissed me in front of you Faithy, right in front of you. Imagine what she's been doing behind your back."

"Faith? What the fuck is going on here?" Kennedy strikes a stance, the scythe held over her head in one hand, the other over her chest to block and hits. Giles holds his stake tightly in his right hand, the left hanging in a limp.

"Y-you guys get out of here," Rayne rasps, flipping to her feet, spitting at Angelus' feet, her nails extending, becoming curved and pointed at the tips, her entire demeanor changed, all the calm and collection gone.

Willow gasps, the fireball in her hands dying out on the spot, "What happened to you?"

"Faith needed to blow off a little steam." Her answer shocks the three new comers, making them all look at the blank slayer.

"I...I can't believe you." Faith whispers, everything is zoned out except Buffy, nothing else is there.

Buffy sends her a pleading look, making it pathetic with the streak of drying blood on her cheek. "Faith...it, it wasn't like that. Please, he, he did something to me. He, he put something-"

"Shut up slayer." Buffy's mouth closes instantly, leaving everyone around them confused. "Now, lets get down to business. I'm sure you already noticed that Omega is not more then fifty feet away at this point."

"Omega what?!" Willow double takes, her mind struggling to digest everything around her. Too much is happening at a time for her to grasp it.

Angelus sighs, very unneeded. "I guess not. And I thought you were the smart one Willow. Omega is over there in the vineyard, he's getting ready to go out and kill sweetpea over here. We need to stop him."

Not matter how heavy the storm is, no matter how loud their hearts are beating, the intensity of the silence is nearly overwhelming. Cementarys are meant to be quiet, but that's a whole new level.

"Um, could you repeat that?" Giles drops his stake, completely stunned. "My bad." He apologizes, retrieving it from the ground.

Angelus rolls his undead eyes, shifting his weight from foot to foot with his irritation. "What are you fucking idiots now? We have to kill Omega." He repeats slowly, making gestures of staking and throat sliting.

"Yeah, yeah, we got that." Kennedy informs him, a perplexed look on her flawless face, "What we don't get is why you're saying this."

"Yeah." Willow nods.

"Because as much as I want slayer dead over here, I'm not too fond of there being no world to eat in. And besides," he throws an arm over Buffy's shoulder, pulling her against his chest, "it just wouldn't be the same without her, don't you agree?"

"So...you want us to help you kill Omega, and then what?"

"That's a great question, uhhh, uh-"

"Kennedy."

"Kennedy. Hot babe there Willow."

"Keep your fangs to yourself thank you very much." Willow wraps a protective arm around Kennedy's waist to emphasize.

"Anyways, I'm really hoping you'll die so I won't have to worry about that. But if you don't, hey, I guess we'll settle it then huh?" He looks directly at Faith, then passes on to Rayne. Both girls have been quiet, and unnaturally still. "How bout it slayer, wanna work with your honey one last time?"

Faith does not respond, her body is stiff, muscles tensed, jaw set, and eyes ablaze, but not looking at Angelus or Buffy for that matter. She seems absorbed by something else, something they can't see just yet. Rayne is the exact carbon copy of Faith's movement, except for the fact that her eyes are indeed glowing a metallic silver, making her fangs shine in the dark.

"What the hell is wrong with you two, what are you like shocked into oblivion?" Kennedy bites, about to say more, but stopped by Rayne's simply smallest acknowlegdement, "We're surronded."

"We're-we're what?" Willow stutters, suddenly aware of a feeling in her gut, and the smalls hairs sticking straight out from her arms.

Rayne turns the intensity of her scruntiny to the group around her, even Angelus has his game face on, yellow eyes almost like beckons. Buffy is crouching, already prepared to go out swinging into the night. Kennedy's hold on the scythe doubles, making the metal groan, and Giles leap back behind them.

"We're surronded Red." Faith speaks quietly, almost as if deciding to give up.

Rayne bumps her shoulder in a friendly manner. While she was catching her breath on the ground, she saw Buffy kiss Angelus as well, but unlike Faith, she wasn't blinded by the glamour of it all, she saw Buffy was trying to stop herself, saw the disgust when Angelus shoved his tongue inside of her mouth. She would have to do something about that later. "Not now." She says loud enough for only Faith to hear.

"I know..." She sounds dejected, almost like a little kid does when he asks his mother if he can go shoot the cat and the mom says no. "Angelus?"

Angelus jutts his head, shwoing he's paying attention, but keeping his eye on the vampires all around them, waiting for them to make a move.

"How do we kill Omega?"

"Like any other vampire...stake him."

Faith's face seems to light up, "Really?"

Angelus finally faces her, and for once, she's not totally repulsed by the cocky smug grin, "Oh yeah. But the problem babe," his voice hitches with his last word, he's suddenly on the floor, ripping the head off of a vampire that leapt at him from the tree, "is getting close enough, and lasting long enough to do it."

"That doesn't sound too hard," Kennedy adds in, yelping as a swarm of the follwers knock over the fence seperating the graveyard from the vineyard. She pales, nearly dropping the scythe as the swarm makes for them, and the monster behind them is revealed. She gulps, loud enough for everyone to hear and she's suddenly paralyzed with fear, "I stand corrected. Oh we are so screwed."

"I'd run if I were you junior." Angelus mutters under his lack of breath.

"Why? I can fight."

"When Omega gets his hands on that scythe, then we're screwed."

"Here they come." Giles speaks up, the scene before him shaking him up something fierce.

"We can take them." Buffy takes the opportunity to secretly make her way to Faith's side while Angelus is busy waiting for the attack. She slips her hand into the burnette's, her heart leaping when Faith squeezes it, taking a moment to flash her a wavering smile.

"Lets do it B." Buffy nods as the first wave of vampires finally reach them, and she pulls her hand back, turning it into a fist, as a spray of dust rains over her.
