Spike paced restlessly up and down the lounge, chuffing way on his cigarette pausing to glare at the front door every few minuets.
It had been two hours since Xander had left to take Dawn to school and he still wasn’t back.
Spike was just thinking about calling the school to check that they had actually made it there when he heard Xanders car pull into the drive.
He rushed through to the kitchen and sat down at the table with the newspaper so Xander didn’t realize that he had been worried.
Xander stormed into the house muttering under his breath about stupid guidance councilors and their stupid interference that did more harm than good.
Slamming the front door behind him he stomped into the lounge and flung himself down in one of the chairs crossing his arms and scowling of in to the distance.
Spike cautiously poked his head into the room and stared in amazement at Xander who was still muttering under his breath.
Spike could pick out individual words now and was impressed with the torture that Xander was lovingly describing as he planed the painful, messy and most importantly imminent demise of Dawns guidance councilor, the principle and numerous other staff of Sunnydale High School.
“Something happen pet?” Spike asked stepping into the room cautiously, after all some off what Xander was describing was more inventive than Angelus and he had ever come up with.
“Do you have any idea where I can get my hands on some rats and a goat?” Xander asked absently “I can mix my own salt water and we can get some prunes from the shops but I can’t think where I could get the rats or the goat.”
Spike walked over to crouch in front of Xander.
“What happened?”
“Dawns guidance councilor and the principle in there infernal wisdom have decided that since Joyce is no longer around to keep dawn in line and Buffy was ‘a troublesome student’ to get social services involved in Dawns life. So tomorrow a social worker is coming round to speak with Buffy and Dawn about the type of support they will be ‘giving’, not offering giving.”
“Fuck.”
“Yeah, tell me about it.”
Spike jumped to his feet and started pacing up and down in front of Xander.
“When they find out that Buffy is dead they will try to take Dawn away. What the hell are we going to do?”
