The Curse
Buffy felt the demon thrashing inside of her, its roar was deafening. It tried to fight its way out of the light. The light was the vessel that kept it at bay. The monster within struggled for freedom but her strength equaled its anger as it too fought back. Soon, the demon and the soul lost their hold on her and she came to. Her eyes shone with a knowledge of over a hundred years. Her soul accepted and embraced death.
Spike, it growled.
Spike pulled back and watched her eyes. They held no emotion, none whatsoever.
Then, he understood. During their little "act", she had lost her soul.
"Red, get in here NOW!"
He quickly got the chains on her and she snarled a bit more.
"Calm down!"
