Chapter 7

this is a really short chapter i know but hopefully i can write a couple more tomorrow :-)
The door to the magic shop opened and Spike ran in with the blanket over his head with Buffy close behind. “Ah Buffy I’ve been waitinr yor you” he turned to the blonde vampire and raised an eyebrow “Spike, didn’t expect to see you too” he paused for a moment and smiled at him “Thank you for looking after Buffy last night” Spike raised an eybrow but didn't say anything.
Giles turned and picked up a book behind the counter leafing through it eagerly and remaining silent. “Giles? I thought you had news on Angel” Buffy said sitting herself down at the table and motioning for Spike to do the same next to her. “Ah yes, we have been researching this all night and most of this morning Buffy and we’ve found the reason for the sudden return of Angelus” Buffy flinched at the sound of the name and Spike took hold of her hand squeezing it gently ((ready for an ass kicking Spike my boy)) he thought as he caught her movement out of the corner of his eye, she turned so she faced him and while keeping her hand in his she rested her other on his knee. ((That was bloody unexpected)) he smiled toselfself and noticed that Giles had stopped talking.
“Giles? Stop zoning out, whats going on? Who did Angel sleep with?” Giles frowned and turned to her “Oh sorry Buffy, he never slept with anyone, I’ve been on the phone to Wesley most of this morning and it seems it’s some kind of spell, they tried to restrain him when Angelus surfaced but they failed, apparently Wesley had a nasty knock on the head” he chuckled to himself and Buffy felt the tension leave her body and smiled “This is good right, we can reverse the spell?”
Spike who apart from the odd squeeze of the hand had remained completely silent spoke up “Its not that simple id wager luv, it’s dark magics we’re talking about here, am I right watcher?” the look on Giles’ face was enough to tell Buffy that Spike was right. “We can do it though cant we?”
Giles turned and looked at her sympathetically, he hated seeing her hurting but it looked like she was coping which he also noted had a lot to do with the blonde vampire holding her hand. a thought occurred to him but he decided to block it out for the time being while they had more pressing matters “Yes I believe we can Buffy, Wesley is researching as we speak and Willow is on her way to LA to help out, we just need to keep Angelus out of trouble while they find the reversal spell” Buffy stood and let go of Spikes hand “We’ll go patrolling tonight although knowing Angelus we wont be looking for long, hes probably looking for us and really pissed after last night. We need a strong tranquilliser and a stronger cage Giles, we have to restrain him, its the only way we can guarantee people will be safe ” Giles nodded and assured her the cage was already on it’s way along with the tranquilliser thanks to Wesley and Cordelia and agreed to wait in the shop until they returned after patrol.
on their way out Buffy turned back to face her watcher "Get Xander over here to help or at least bring you brain food, you look tired" he smiled at her and took off his glasses to clean them "Oh and Giles, tell him to bring blood with him, if we do manage to restrain him we're gonna need it to feed him" with that she headed out the door towards the cemetary.
