Chapter 6

Kendra

“I’m looking for a Mr. Giles.” A gorgeous woman with a Jamaican accent said as she entered the library.
“I am Mr. Giles. He said walking towards her.
“My name is Kendra… the Vampire Slayer…”

“Buffy, It’s Giles” He said. “I need you to come to the library. Please leave Spike at home … There was a new Slayer called.” Giles Said into the phone, all the while polishing his glasses.

“I’m on my way. Give me five minutes.” Buffy said

“Spike, I have to go to the library, another Slayer was called. Giles said for you to stay here.” Buffy said to Spike

“I thought a Slayer had to die before a new one was called? You’re not dead, So how is it possible?” Spike questioned.

“I did die, before you came here. The Master killed me. He… after he bit me he, dropped me into a shallow pool in his lair. If it wasn’t for Xander I would be dead.” Buffy said.

“How did he save you?” Spike questioned

“He gave me mouth to mouth recitation. He saved my life. I was dead Spike really dead.” Buffy said in a panicky voice.

“Shhh Kitten. It will be ok. Spike’s got you baby. Cry it all out.” Spike said soothingly while pulling her in for a hug and gently stroking her back.
Buffy sobbed “I don’t want to die Spike. I used to think I wanted to but…I want to be here for a long time. I want to watch our baby grow. I want to express my love to you every day. I never thought I would be this lucky. I guess being the chosen one means I do deserve to be happy. Finally. I would be willing to fight Big Bad’s for the rest of my life… as long as I knew you were by my side. I never feel as at peace as I do when I am in your arms Spike.” Buffy said looking into his gorgeous blue eyes.
“I feel the same way Buffy. We ground each other.”
“Spike I … at the wedding on Saturday I want to give you the Gem of Amara as you’re wedding band. That way I will know you will always be there. No other vampire will try to take it because they all think that it is a myth. Please Spike?” Buffy pleaded “I want you to walk in the sun with me. With baby and me. When he or she comes. I want to make love to you in the sun. Spike please?”
“I’ll think about it. Not makin any promises though ok?” Spike asked seriously.
“That’s all I can ask. I better go see Giles, I’ll see you later.” She gave him a quick kiss as she left.

“Buffy this is Kendra, Kendra, Buffy.”

“Your watcher ..is Sam Zabuto you say?”
“Yes Sir.”
“We’ve never met, but he’s very well respected.”
“What? So he’s a real guy? As in non-fictional?”
“And you were called?”
“Yes I’m now the Vampire Slayer. I was told to come here to the hellmouth. I was told I was needed. My watcher told me, this Slayer was…. Well couldn’t perform her Slayer duties….”
“What is your last name Kendra? I need to contact your watcher.”
“I have no last name Sir.”
“Can we say stuck in the eighties?”
“Buffy! Please! This is obviously some misunderstanding.”
“Hey.” Willow said entering the library.
“Identify yourself.”
“Back off Pink Ranger, this is my friend.”
“Friend?” Kendra questioned.
“Yeah as in person you hang with? Amigo?
“I don’t understand.”
“You try. I’m tapped” Buffy said sighing into a chair.
“Kendra there are a few people, civilians if you like who know Buffy’s identity. Willow is one of them. And they also um spend time together, socially.”
“And you allow dis Sir?”
“Well uh…”
“But the Slayer must work in secret. For security.”
“Of course but…with Buffy however it’s um some flexibility is um required”
“Why”
“Hi guys um what’s going on?” Willow asked sitting down at the table.
“Apparently there’s been a really big mix-up.”
“It seems somehow that a Slayer has been sent to Sunnydale.”


Giles proceeded to tell Kendra about Buffy, her Vampire and their baby.

Robin got off the bus in Sunnydale. As he watched the sun slip below the horizon he felt the tingle that said Vampires. Robin smiled to himself. Yeah this would be a great place to hunt.

As he made his way casually towards the hotel he could tell there were four of them following him. He crouched around the corner of the building he’d just walked by and running out as they rounded the corner. A quick steak to the heart dusted one and knocking two others to the ground, he had obviously caught them by surprise when they assumed he was merely human and gave chase. Spinning kick, punch dust. Round house punch, block, front kick, dust. Scissor kick, head butt dust.
Robin continued on his way. Whistling as he walked.

“Spike it was so weird. She was like an automon. My watcher said this, my watcher said that. It really gave me the wiggins. But then she said her watcher told her that I couldn’t …perform my slayerly duties. Do you think he knows? Do you think they all know…about the baby?”

“Donno luv, but I think she would be a big help. She can patrol…you can rest…”

Kendra walked through the cemetery looking for any vamp activity. She spotted the most amazing looking man she had ever seen. She could tell he wasn’t a vamp because her vampire radar had not gone off.

Robin saw the beautiful young girl walking through the cemetery. She shouldn’t be out here, he thought as he made his way towards her.
“Hi, what are you … Uh, I mean you shouldn’t be out here this late.”
“Oh I’m sorry Sir, I was just … on my way …and I got lost…” Kendra replied nervously. Remembering her watchers words to her
– Remember Kendra no one must know of your calling. –
“Can I take you somewhere?” Robin asked
“Uh, I am … meeting …” She started to say but was interrupted by a low growl as they were surrounded by four vampires.
“It’ll be ok…just” Robin started to say as Kendra quickly pulled out her steak and dusted the vampire closest to her. The fight was on, Robin dusted his two vamps and turned to help Kendra. Her remaining vamp was backing away hands raised as she gave him a flying kick to the head, knocking him into the mausoleum to her left. Less than a second later her steak connected with the vampire’s heart and he exploded into dust.
“Wow.” Said Robin.
“I … I have to go” Kendra started to say as she started to walk away. She didn’t even realize Robin had dusted vampires, she was in shock. She had killed vampires in front of someone.
“Wait…don’t go…”
“I have to… I can’t… I’m not supposed to…”
“Tell anyone you’re the Slayer? Buffy?” Robin asked
“My name is not Buffy…what do you know about Slayers? Kendra questioned”
“You aren’t Buffy? Was I too late? Oh god… She died because I was too… late.” Robin said as a lone tear trickled down his cheek.
“Buffy is not dead…She’s at home…I’m Kendra”
“But you’re a Slayer? God two of you that hasn’t happened since…” Robin’s voice trailed away as he thought of his mother.

Flashback – “Robin honey you have to remember … Me and your father both love you. Never forget that and we will always be with you in spirit. Even if we can’t be there to tuck you in at night. We will always love you….” Robin looked into his mother’s depressed tear filled eyes. It was the last time he ever saw her alive.
“When my mother was a slayer, she did die for a few minutes. Another Slayer was called.”
“Your mother was a Slayer? Is that how you know?”
“Yes. Also, her watcher raised me. Can we go somewhere…Just to talk?”
“Yeah, Mr. Giles house is nor. Hr. He is my temporary watcher, While I am here.”

On the way Kendra told Robin all she knew of why she was called and About Buffy, her vampire and their baby.

Robin thought about his Mother.

“Yes I have some abilities from both of my parents although I am neither I am as strong as either vampires or slayers. I have amazing night vision. I have a vampire sense as our watcher Crowley called it. Let’s me know when vamps are around. I can fight naturally. I don’t drink blood, but I can go vamp face if I want to…comes in handy at Halloween” Robin laughs “That didn’t happen until I hit puberty though. I can go out into the sun. I don’t know what else to tell you.” Robin sighed.
“Why are you here Robin? Why now?”
“Crowley just told me to come…said the hellmouth guardian was unable to fulfil her duties. Didn’t tell me she was pregnant though.”
Robin said with a shrug.

Sorry this chapter is so short… and not much B/S the wedding is next… I just wanted to get things aligned. Kendra and Robin needed to be explained.
