Wesley paced outside of the door. Everything inside of him screamed to go back inside. But at the same time he knew if he did, his cover would be blown. The Worker-Wesley and Human-Wesley were at a clash. He had seen the look in Ethan’s eyes…. Wesley turned and was about to slam down the door, when suddenly he heard footsteps behind him.
“Hello Wesley,” A familiar voice floated from behind him. Turning Wesley saw Rupert Giles coming down the hallway at a frightening speed. As Wesley was passed by on his quest for the door, his former employer gave a small nod and then proceeded to walk into Ethan Rayne’s Office, slamming the door open.
******************************
His paced slowed as he entered the room, walking toward the center seat, in front of the pudding-covered desk.
“Hello Ethan.” He said in a neutral tone as he sat down, not visually acknowledging Ethan, who had Buffy pressed up against the wall, with one hand up her shirt, and the other grabbing her ass. After a moment he turned his head toward them and spoke again, “And hello to you Buffy, I presume?”
Ethan growled at the interruption and in a few quick strides crossed the room, leaving the drugged Buffy to slide to the floor, and sat behind his desk, “What do you want?” He spat.
“Her.” He said, his eyebrows raised almost challengingly.
“You can’t have her, she’s psychotic, and we have to keep her here to cure her, Rupert. You of all people know that.” Ethan grinned triumphantly.
Standing up Giles placed his hands squarely on the happy birthday tablecloth and tried to control his anger. “FBI agent Riley Finn has gotten approval for Miss Summers to be removed from St. Julian’s and into the Hawthorne Academy instead. He is a psychologist, and has personally declared Miss Summers to be well on the way to recovery with no help other then her self. Also he states in his report that he thinks St. Julian’s Medical Center would be not so much productive as it would be counter productive, therefore, with the assistance of the FBI we are removing Miss Summers from St. Julian’s for her own safety, even if we have to use force.”
Still smirking, Ethan rose out of his seat and leaned forward to meet Giles’s glare. “I do believe Rupert, that I’ll have to see this in writing. No offense, of course,” He smirked at the irony, “but we have some history that may have… clouded your judgment and also may have driven you to try to endanger Miss Summers so as to make me look bad.”
Giles straightened as 15 men in black suits walked into the room and lined the parameter, the last one who entered the room was Riley Finn. Smiling, Giles reached into his blazer and pulled out a folded piece of paper, and then leaning forward tucked it into Ethan’s coat pocket. Turning he started to walk away.
“Hope you don’t mind,” He paused, half turning to smirk at Ethan, “But I didn’t want to get any of this truly delicious pudding on a government paper.” Turning he nodded to the men and they started to file out as Riley picked up the sleeping Buffy.
“This,” Riley nodded to the girl in his arms, “Will most definitely be in my report. Be expecting my call, because I’ll need your statement so you can have at least some sort of defense against what ever hers may be.” Then Riley turned and walked out of the room, speaking into his microphone about ordering a blood test.
Sinking down into his seat, Ethan looked shell shocked. He didn’t notice Drusilla until she was right beside him.
“I warned you daddy.” She said in her thick brogue. “But don’t worry,” She reached down to tip up his chin. “We’ll get her back, and we’ll get even with the little bird and her father… And I know just the way how.”
Ethan smiled up at her, and then pulled her on to his lap. She giggled as he pulled her in for a passionate kiss, thinking to him self, just how completely he loved his sister.

“Garbleaghabarbleee.” Was all Buffy could manage when she first woke up, but after a moment, she pulled herself up into a sitting position, and wiped the crust away from her mouth.
“Bout time you woke up, B.” Said a voice from beside her. Buffy tried to turn her head, but moved to fast and instead slid down dizzily. “Woahh, be careful not to move to much honey. It looks like Ethan did quite a number on you.” Opening her eyes, Buffy slowly focused on a brunette woman about her age.
“Who are you…?” She said slowly, feeling as though her tongue were the size of a grapefruit. An extraordinarily large grapefruit. She thought. We’re talking state fair award winning type here…
“Easy on the talk Buff, you don’t want to run before you walk…” The woman started, but Buffy quickly interrupted.
“Don’t call me that!!” Buffy tried to shout, but instead all that came out was a garbled quieter version of that.
“Woahh sorry princess, won’t ever do it again!!” The woman’s voice bit back.
“Faith,” Said a quieter, almost familiar voice. “No need to shout, Buffy’s been through enough.”
“Sorry,” Faith sighed, rolling her eyes. “Won’t do it again.”
“Hello Buffy,” the voice drew near and Buffy could see it was the man who burst into Mr. Rayne’s office earlier that….
“What’s today?” She asked, again garbling.
“Today’s Thursday,” He said, sitting down in a chair beside the bed. “I’m Rupert Giles, I’m the headmaster at Hawthorne Academy. I’m working with the FBI, you remember Riley Finn?”
“Yes,” she slowly responded.
“He was a psychologist, he was sent to protect you that day at the airport and also to try and evaluate you from a distance. Sadly, neither the American, nor the British Government trusts St. Julian’s Medical Center. But it is the best one in the world for you types of situations. But seeing as you found out Mr. Finn, he was able to have a more in depth look and declared you well on your way to… how should I put this.” Giles paused for a second.
“Not being loony?” Faith gave her input, which was responded to with glares all around.
“Stable” Giles said “your well on your way to being stable. He talked to his employer and they managed to get a warrant to remove you from St. Julian’s and instead have you attend school at Hawthorn Academy.”
“Which is where G-man comes into play.” Faith added, “He’s big on helping the re-stabled or what ever, plus he really hates Ethan. I don’t blame him. Talk about a creep.” Faith rambled, sitting down on the other side of the bed, as Giles gave her a look somewhere in between amazed and annoyed.
“Yes well,” he started, collecting his thoughts. “Mr. Rayne injected you with some form of mental sedative. It usually knocks a person out for a short period of time, usually an hour, and then has them wake up in almost a dream like state, then they’ll fall back asleep and the next morning simply remember fragments of what happened. We simply had you watch the telly” Giles smirked. He used to yell at his own son for watching the telly, saying it rotted his brain, but now his son was very much grown and now spent his time terrorizing Hawthorne teachers.
“Melrose Place. Re-runs.” Faith said. “You had some chocolate ice cream too, then I fell asleep and somebody ate my Oreos.” She glared at Buffy, who smiled as the memory came back to her.
“Um the cute orderly?” She spoke clearly now, as her tongue had de-swelled. Faith laughed at her, and left to go get her some breakfast saying something along the lines of “You and me B. We’ll get along real fine…”
