The lighter flicked open and with a hiss of the stone a flame appeared, then the golden cap closed again and it was turned around only to start the process again.

Michael was getting pretty agitated by the stares and the silence. Playing with the lighter was better than focusing on the people looking at him like he had just sprouted a second head. Wasn't anybody going to say anything? Were they suddenly mute? "What?" he finally groaned.

Willow was the first to come to her senses. "Sorry, it's just that this is unexpected news. Right, Buffy?" She asked the blonde next to her. "Buffy?"
< /br>< /br>
The slayer tore her gaze away from the vampire. "Yep, much unexpected." She turned to Giles and said, "So, now we have two souled vampires. Hell mouth odds?"
< /br>< /br>
"It appears so." The watcher replied. "I was hoping to calculate Michael's age and vampire status by seeing how he would hold up in one on one combat against you. Perhaps his natural abilities will surface."

To Michael it felt like a really good idea to get rid of some of this tension he'd been feeling because of their earlier scrutiny. He rolled up his sleeves, loosened up his neck and rolled his shoulders.

Buffy stretched out her back and then waved her hands at him in an invitation to fight her. They circled each other in the open circle in front of the research table.

Never being one for cat and mouse games Buffy was the first to throw a punch. In one fluid movement Michael turned his upper body away from the blow. He moved completely on instinct as he countered the blow with a right hook of his own. With that the fight was on and they traded blows throughout the library.

Buffy drove Michael towards the counter with a few kicks and punches, taking one punch on her chin and a kick to her kneecap. Once Michael felt the edge of the counter on his lower back he knew he was in trouble. The evil glint in Buffy's eye was another huge hint. She slowly closed in on him.
< /br>< /br>
His eyes traveled over her face that was flushed from the fight and framed with her golden hair in tussled curls. From there his gaze went down her elegant neck, fixing on the artery throbbing with blood being transported around her body. That alone was enough to arouse the vampire inside of him but the man he was got his kicks as his gaze traveled even lower. Her bosom heaved with the effort her lungs were making. Her wraparound showed hints of the tops of her golden mounds. She was a radiant beauty that entranced both his demon and the man inside and she is about to kick you arse, you poncy idiot. His mind provided the warning in the nick of time for him to jump backwards over the counter and ran away from his assailant. Laughter filled him as the exhilaration of a great fight coursed through his body.

Buffy's eyes followed the laughing vampire. From his strong curved legs over his muscled ass that clenched as he ran up the stairs to the second floor. The muscles in his back worked underneath the violet long sleeve shirt he wore and his arms pumped at his sides in powerful movements.
< /br>< /br>
As he reached the top he turned around and Buffy's breath hitched in her throat as his beautiful face shone with a happy glow.
< /br>< /br>
"That all you got, Slayer? I don't know for sure but I think I am disappointed." He told her with a cocky grin on his face.
< /br>< /br>
She let out a war whoop and chased after him. They fought throughout the stacks of books trying not to damage anything but going for maximal contact on their blows and kicks. Buffy was feeling great. Angel had been the only one that was able to take her on like this but he rarely did because he was afraid of hurting her.
< /br>< /br>
They returned to the landing and Michael spotted an opening in Buffy's defense. He punched her straight in her face as she was guarding her upper body expecting a kick. The blow left her reeling and she sailed backwards through the wooden banister and landed with a big bang on the research table.
< /br>< /br>
"Ouch!" She simply stated but before she could get up Michael had jumped the now clear space and was beside her running his hands over her body looking for fractures and other injuries.
< /br>< /br>
"Slayer, I am sorry that wasn't meant to happen. Are you all right? Guess I don't know my own strength." He babbled.
< /br>< /br>
Buffy was fine, hell, Buffy was better than fine. Long elegant fingers were softly running across her limbs and his eyes were looking at her with so much kindness. I think I am just going to lay here and enjoy this for awhile.
