Time Spin

Jaeger sat in one of the many large empty holding cells at the Initiative. She had been here she guessed at least a day, Tyrell hadn’t said anything about his plan on getting onto the grounds, probably had figured out her abilities were growing, even when she had probed the guards she had gotten nothing.



Sighting she sat on from where she had been lying on the ground, standing she walked to the glass panel in front of her, looking across the hall she watched the girl across the hall, she had been asleep most of the time shed been here and hadn’t seen the guards bring in the new girl, at first she had thought it was Skye but this girls hair was straighter.



Tapping on the glass she tried to get the girls attention. Looking up she saw that the glass was thick, stepping back she focused on the girl, concentrating as much as she could *Wake up….wake up NOW* she winced when she all but yelled that last bit in her head.



IT was worth it when the dark haired girl rolled over and stared at her from her spot on the floor. Waving she smiled happily, wafting for het girl to come closer. She couldn’t sense what kind of demon she was unless she was closer.



*What’s your name?* Jaeger was more than pleased when the girl didn’t immediate roll away; instead she stood and walked closer. A slayer?



*Names Kennedy. You?* Jaeger knew the slayer must have some experience in telepathy because she didn’t even blink before she answered her.





*I’m Jaeger. Can you break the glass?* Jaeger really really hoped she could. Something had changed what was to come and she couldn’t reach Aunt Willow so she had to get there if she could.



*No but I can* Jaeger and Kennedy both turned to look down the hall at the new voice. Jaeger jumped when the glass panel trembled and the entire entrance slid open enough for her to climb through.



Standing in the hallway she looked down, who was that? Walking to the next holding cell she looked in at the tall blonde woman. *Who are you?* Jaeger took in the woman, she appeared human except for what looked like small feathers growing out of her head near her ears, her pointed ears…skin walker? Then the seer saw the wings growing out of her back. An ANGEL!??



She had always wanted to meet one. Jaeger couldn't stop from stepping around excitedly. Stepping back when the angel opened her own holding cell and stepped out.



“I was waiting for you to wake up. Come then, we must help your parents. Fraid’ they’re losing there way without you.”



“Who are you?” Jaeger asked curiously. The winged woman just smiled at her tolerantly.



“I shouldn’t be surprised you don’t recognize me. Names Cupid, but you can call me Coop.” Coop reached out and took Jaegers hand and they started walking towards what Jaeger guessed was an exit when suddenly she remembered the slayer.



“Wait…she’s a slayer we can’t leave her here.” Jaeger stepped back and walked back to where Kennedy was watching them. “PLEASE can you let her out?”



“Okay.” Coop stepped up to the control panel and waved her hand over it, instantly the chirping sound started and the slayers own cell opened.



“Damn bout time…let’s get outa here.” Kennedy shook out her jacket and looked down at the girl; she really hoped she wasn’t some weirdo crazy demon child. The irony of it all was that was kind of the reason shed gotten bagged and tagged by the army man wannabes.



Jaeger smiled happily and skipped back to the angel woman, carefully reaching out she stroked one of the wings, giggled when it twitched and shifted.



“Which way to your school kid?” Coop asked, when both the girls answered she looked amusingly between them. “I’m all for pleasantries but id like to get out of here before we trip so sort of alarm.”



“Can you fly?” Jaeger asked. They weren’t going to be spotted; she could sense that Tyrell was gone. “Cause that would be cool”



“Yes I can fly” Coop snapped indignitaly.”Just haven’t been able to lately…you were late by the way. So were you” She said accusingly, looking over at Kennedy.



“Well damn, you know I tried to get man handled beaten to a pulp and tossed in a cell sooner but just couldn’t pencil it in” Kennedy snapped. “Now can you PLEASE leave?”



“Yeah leaving…defiantly a good thing…just not this way” Jaeger said, both adults looked down at her.



“Why” they asked simutaneously. Looking down the hall where Jaeger was pointing.



“That’s why” Jaeger said backing up. There at the end of the hall was a huge demon, staring at them…hungrily? “I wanna go can we go?” Jaeger said, her previous bravery vanished when she realized they weren’t the only ones out of there halls.



“Yeah come on kid. Climb up.” Jaeger jumped and Coop held the child to her chest before turning and grabbing Kennedy’s hand, they ran down the hallway as fast as there legs could take em as the demon realized his food was getting away and was tearing down after them.



Turning left Coop drug Kennedy around the corner so sharply that the slayer tripped. Quickly regaining her footing Coop suddenly stopped. “Little girl…can you sense anything that way?”



Jaeger sat up and looked at Coop and down the hallway, struggling to find anything all she found were demon life forms. “No nothing” Turning her head back behind them she scanned for the giant demon.” But the demons gaining on us.”



Nodding mutely Coop set down Jaeger and scanned the ceiling. Turning back down to the child that seemed totally transfixed by her wings Coop smiled before gently picking the child up again. “I’m going to lift you up, that’s an escape hatch, and it’ll take us above ground. I need you to climb inside and push the red and yellow buttons”



Jaeger nodded excitedly, deciding that even if being hostage was fun, escaping was soooo much better. Reaching up she pushed aside the hidden panel and climbed up into the small space. Quickly pushing the buttons and jumped when she heard a loud screech behind her.



Turning she watched a foldable ladder descend down below her and Kennedy climb up with Coop right behind her.



“Only three hundred more to go” Coop said to neither of them, both brunettes looked at each her worriedly.



“More what?” Kennedy asked hesitantly. Coop looked over at them and smiled.



“Feet. Till we reach the top of course.” Coop smiled at them happily, ignoring there groans as they both turned and began climbing the ladders rungs.

Buffy lay awake on the couch in her sister’s living room, the family had been in bed for two hours and she just couldn’t get to sleep. It was was strange to be sleeping without Lonnie.



Guess after ten years you just get used to a person. She missed her though; she missed the way Lonnie always snuggled up next to her…before Jaeger. How she always was patient and loving with Todd and Axel. She missed her…so much.



Turning her head into her pillow she stopped trying not to cry. Sobbing as quietly as she could she clutched the pillow tighter and nearly jumped a foot off the couch when Dawnie gently shook her.



“Buffy…honey come on.” Buffy looked up at her sister, gasping when out of nowhere Dawn plopped down onto her stomach.



“Dammit Dawn what the hell.” Buffy said, trying to push her surprisingly heavy sister off her. “Damn you got a bony ass”



“I do not” Dawn exclaimed laughing, finally sliding off her sister she sat on the floor and looked over at her. “It’ll be okay, you know that right?”



“I hope so. What was with the whole dating Sasha thing?” Buffy asked, that had been bugging her pretty much all day.



“I was joking more than anything else Buffy, just thought id distract ya a bit.” Dawn didn’t tell her what suspicision she had bout the blue skinned woman. Better not too at this point, otherwise Buffy would do that thing and get all obsessive and not let it go.



“Okay good. Cause Lonnie and I are on a break…you know why but it doesn’t mean im leaving leaving her…im going to go back eventually…” Buffy let the sentence hang and when she heard a loud crash she sat up.



Both the Summers sisters looked out at the courtyard, obviously something had crashed…the demons were all mulling around a small cluster of trees.



Rushing outside she ran to where whatever it was seemed to be. That’s right…can’t be like normal people that avoid messes such as this…got to run right into…KENNEDY! Buffy stood stock still as the smaller brunette slayer stood up stiffly and brushed off her jeans. Confused even more when the slayer turned and looked up into he trees.



“Crappy ass driving Coop.” Buffy stood frozen in shock as the slayer turned back and was muttering to herself.



That when she heard something that she didn’t think she would hear again…”MOMMY!”
