I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It belongs to Joss and his lackeys. I do NOT get paid for writing this. This Is Simply My Own Wishful Thinking.!

They sat quietly on the couch in the front room, close but not too close, finally Buffy spoke, “So you’re friends with Rabekuh?”
“Friends could be a word to describe it. Rather business associates I’d say.”
“Do you always stay in your business associates homes?” She arched a brow much like he would and Spike had to take a moment to ponder when she’d started doing that.
“It’s not like I gave much thought about where to go. I only just got here today.” Spike realized she might be a tad jealous, “Would you rather me stay here with you Slayer? I can you know. The bit won’t mind, as long as I stay in town and she can reach me when the time comes.”
“The time for what?” Buffy wasn’t going to respond to the question, because to tell the truth she would rather Spike stayed with her, that he was somewhere she could – she had to shake that thought from her mind. Who was to say she and Spike even had a chance anymore, they hadn’t seen each other in over three years.
“She’ll be askin’ me for a favor no doubt.” Spike sat back then, “It’s usually a favor or something needing to be done with her. Just don’t know what it is yet.”
“Oh, so that’s why you’re down here. Because she needs you to do something.” No, there wasn’t a chance for them if he had not come for her, but he might not have known she was here, Andrew was doing his job and keeping the whole Demon world from finding her.
“That’s not it at all pet.” Spike shifted then, leaning forward to place a hand upon hers, which were currently in her lap, an encouragement for her to lift her eyes from them to him once more. “She didn’t tell me she needed something. She only said I could come with her if I wanted to see you again. It was my choice.” Not really a choice, the Goddess had known how he felt about the Slayer and would do anything for her. He had come for the woman in front of him, because he missed her. He didn’t have a choice in that, he had to see her again.
“How did she know about me? That you knew me that is. Did you tell her?”
“I don’t have to tell that woman anything for her to know it. She always knows, she just gets pleasure from making me say it.” Spike mumbled the last sentence to himself not really wanting to give too much away knowing that Rabekuh would be upset if he gave away her secret. “She knew I was looking for you and when we ran into each other she made the offer.” He really was putting the damn woman in a better light then she should be in. But he knew the Slayer worked with her and from what the nibblet said they got along well.
“So she knew about us, you told her?” Best to let the Slayer think of the when herself and not dig himself into a further whole he told himself but simply nodded, it was the answer to her question and he was suppose to be keeping the secret, he hated himself and Rabekuh for it. “How do you know her?”
That was a question that was hard, he could make the words sound nice and not lie to her but this one, he wasn’t sure how to tell her without setting it up for her to find out more, but he didn’t want to flat out lie to Buffy, “I spared her life once. She has power that is beneficial to any who stay on her good side. I’m sure you’ve learned that by now love.”
Smiling softly she nodded, “I have learned that, but I didn’t think you would have done such a thing when you were the big bad.”
“Hey, I’m still the big bad, just bad in other ways,” Wriggling his eyebrows slightly he leaned forward, “How would you like me to show you what ways Slayer.” It was said in a deep sultry voice that gave Buffy shivers, his lips were inches from hers. She could just close the distance and – Buffy was ashamed of the small squeal she let out when the door slammed open.
“Spike!” Angel had barreled through the door the moment he was able to get past the girl out front, the one who had quickly followed him in, a bored expression on her face. Spike could tell instantly she had pretended to keep the poof outside for as long as possible. She could have kept him out there all night if she had wanted too. Narrowing his eyes slightly he directed his gaze to the annoying man stalking towards him.
“Angel. I didn’t know you were in town.” The purr that was laid upon the words let it known to anyone who really paid attention he knew and didn’t care, which only made Buffy smile a bit.

Rabekuh had been surprised that it would have taken Angel a little longer to show up then she had expected, the Vampire usually was at the Summer’s residence rather quickly after the sun had set. This evening though he took just a tad longer but that was alright with her, it gave her time to get herself comfortable on the chairs set up out front along the walk, facing the garden which lined the other side of it.
“Rabekuh.” Angel had said and she hadn’t even bothered looking up. The vampire didn’t like her, at all, which she wasn’t shocked about. He knew she had power and it scared him, he just couldn’t figure out what she did with it as she never showed the power she had to an extent that would seem, abnormal in the world of the word.
“Hello buttercup.” She said happily, she knew now that Spike and Buffy were just starting to talk, they had gotten there right after sunset having left her place just as Dusk had hit. She knew they would beat Angel but she thought he would show up right after the door closed, not just as the two settled to talk. Odd how he could – she paused narrowing her eyes, “Already enjoying the night I see.”
“I don’t see how it’s any of your business, but yeah, ran into a few people.” Few people, right he ran into a Demon and from the smell of it dispatched before coming over, explained why he was late, must have been a quick one.
“It’s happening more after, they don’t usually show themselves until after the equinox and even then it’s rare.” It was muttered to herself but she was worried, if it was going to happen it was going to happen, she only needed to stay on her guard. She would have to tell Spike sooner then she thought, but still not yet.
“They?” Angel questioned, if he could get something out of this woman, get her to leave Buffy alone, he’d feel better for it. He didn’t trust her one bit. Something about her just screamed of something he couldn’t trust. Even if down deep where he wouldn’t admit he knew he should.
He growled as she paused tipping her head as if she were listening to something. Then she smiled, “Seems Spike whoos faster than you.” She had of course said it purposefully, she wanted to see Angel’s reaction, even if she already knew what it was.
“Spike? What the hell do you mean?” Ah, there it was he had finally caught the scent of the other Vampire.
“You would think you would have worried less about me and more about him. Of course you didn’t think it would be so easy, tell a coupe lies about him and she’d go into your arms.”
“They weren’t lies.” But they both knew it wasn’t true, he’d said Spike went off looking for adventure, another fight. Which was true, but Spike had wanted to find Buffy, the fight and adventure were part of the deal, an accepted part but not what he was looking for. Of course he had told half truths here and there as the last year had progressed, when Spike had been brought up. He wanted Buffy to give him a fair chance and it seemed Spike would just take them away from him.
“Of course not, but he’s here now. He’ll be able to set her straight. Put her –“ Grinning she stood following Angel inside.
She looked just as innocent as Spike when she entered behind the brooder, of course she knew Spike knew right away she had let the man in. Right when it seemed she shouldn’t have. Pity. She didn’t care she’d planned it just right. “Like hell you didn’t. If you’re palling with her,” the disgust in Angel’s tone at the word, indicating the Destiny Goddess raised a quiet growl from the bleach blonde, “How could you not know? She wanted you here after all.” Maybe not true, Angel wasn’t sure but he was trying to go off what she had said, she sounded like she’d planned it. She wasn’t trust worthy.
“Of course she did you poofter. But I had a choice. I could stay where I was and keep looking myself or let her bring me. You think I’d pass up the chance to stop searching myself?” Spike did a fine job of covering up the growl he hoped; maybe they would think he was growling at something else. Angel had spoken quickly after all and his growl was around the same time as the last sentence, okay, it ended just before the last sentence. It wasn’t like he was protective of her, but he knew when one should respect someone more than they do, the growl had been a warning.
Buffy who had been looking between the two and had felt a slight bit of disappointment at the growl, it seemed there was something between the two just as she had suspected from how he spoke of her. And it seemed he didn’t like Angel’s tone when it came to his address. Yet, at Spike’s words she looked at him understanding, he had been searching for her. He’d said it earlier, though not in quite the same words, just that she made it hard to find her. But there he’d said it. He’d been Searching for her. The avidness of that word was what struck her, not looking, not poking around hoping to find. Searching. Maybe they did have a chance to try for something real.
“How did she know where to find you?” It was a question Angel asked often about the woman, how did she know. There Buffy did wonder her eyes glancing Rabekuh’s direction, she looked bored for all intents and purposes, but the look on Spike’s face when she looked there told her clearly the woman was far from bored. But she admitted Angel was right, Rabekuh always seemed to know, Spike had said she knew things without him having to tell her only enjoyed making him say it.
“She’s a Seer of sorts.” Spike said his look at Rabekuh was somewhere between challenging, apologetic, and pleading? Buffy was never one for being insightful like Spike, but she knew how to read his expression. Especially when he was pleading something. “A special one at that. More powerful then Dru or your precious Cordelia. She always knows things including when to act on them.” He wasn’t going to say how to act on them. She always knew just how to go about getting what she wanted or how to orchestrate something to be just as she wanted it to be. He wasn’t going to say that. It would make her seem just as manipulative as she was, but if she’d inserted herself in the Slayers life but seemed bent on protecting her, that was something he’d find out about later and protect for now.
Apparently none of this was completely knew to the group, but the scope of it was. Angel turned to look at the girl, he’d always had a thing for Seers, anyone with the power of site he would use for his own good or would guide down the path he chose. He couldn’t do that with this girl Spike knew. Maybe that was why Angel seemed so disdainful towards her, seeming to hate her. Even though she still looked bored it was clear to the vampire that knew her so well Rabekuh didn’t mind his explanation. “We’ll leave it at that.” Her voice was so quiet, yet powerful, still Spike could hear the exhaustion in it. “What I am is not important. Spike chose to be here, that’s what is.” Stepping forward she put a hand on Angel’s shoulder. “Now why do you and I get you some blood and check on Dawn.” It wasn’t a suggestion and she soon had Angel out of the room, the glance she’d shot Spike making it clear what her words meant. Keep it a secret.
“Friends could be a word to describe it. Rather business associates I’d say.”
