Sam sat on the edge of the bed with his head in his hands. He was tired, but there was no way he could lay in bed any longer. The sun was up, shining through the blinds and he glanced over at the other bed, where he could see a smooth expanse of shoulder and neck and a tumble of dark hair.
When an hour had passed without a sound from the room, he and Dawn had left Dean with Faith and gone back to his and Dean’s room. Dawn had taken a shower, borrowing one of his button-down flannel shirts to sleep in. When she’d come out of the bathroom and set her clothes in a folded pile on the chair near the window, he’d had a hard time not staring. His shirt was more than long enough, brushing just above her knees in the front and back, but it was the slits in the sides that were giving him problems. Flashes of slender thighs when she walked, still perfectly decent, but oh, so tempting. When she raised her arms to pull her hair back, they’d lifted further and he’d seen a flash of light blue satin beneath it before he looked away.
She’d crawled into the bed with a sigh and said goodnight, as if it were a perfectly normal situation and Sam had turned out the light and laid in the dark, wondering if it was healthy to be jealous of an article of clothing. Every time she moved or sighed in her sleep, he’d opened his eyes, until he couldn’t take it anymore and just gave up. The sun had come up already, but he didn’t figure Dean and Faith would be up any time soon. His shirt had slipped down over Dawn’s shoulder and among the rumpled sheets, when she shifted, he saw that it had worked up around her waist. A slender hip, a glimpse of those blue bikini panties and a long line of thigh were clearly visible and his eyes lingered for a moment before he looked at her face and saw her watching him.

Dawn watched Sam stare at the exposed length of her body and smiled a little. She’d wondered what it would take to get his attention. He’d been a perfect, maddening gentleman all night and it was driving her insane. She’d raised her arms, flashed some leg, and been carefully careless until she’d gotten into bed, hoping to spark his interest, but it hadn’t worked. She’d slept restlessly, waking often, wondering if he was sleeping. Finally she’d heard him get up, go into the bathroom and come back out, sitting on the mattress. Turning over and discreetly pulling the sheet aside had been her last ditch attempt and it looked like it had worked.
He looked startled when he realized she was awake and watching him, then guilty.
“I- um-“ he stammered.
“Morning,” she said, smiling and stretching. She sat up and got out of bed as if nothing were out of the ordinary, walking across the room and into the bathroom, feeling his eyes on her the whole time and she grinned. Mission accomplished, she thought to herself, closing the bathroom door behind her.

Faith raised an eyebrow at Dawn when she walked into the women’s bathroom at the diner they’d decided to meet at for breakfast. The younger girl’s smile was a little too smug to be innocent.
“I take it you and Dean made up?” Dawn asked, leaning on the wall with her arms crossed casually.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that,” Faith agreed, pulling a paper towel off the rack and drying her hands. She’d left Dean at the table to wait for Sam and Dawn and gone into the restroom only a few moments ago, so she was betting Dawn wanted to say something that wasn’t for the guys to hear. She turned around, leaning on the sink.
“What’s up? You do something I should know about?” she asked, remembering Dean’s comment from the night before.
“Nope, not yet,” Dawn said and Faith’s eyebrows rose.
“But there’s sparkage?” she asked.
“Definite sparkage,” Dawn agreed and Faith laughed.
“Go for it, girl. About time Sammy found a someone good enough for him,” she said, still grinning.
They were both laughing a little when they walked out of the bathroom and saw Sam and Dean sitting across from one another at a booth. Both men stood up and Faith gave Dawn a pointed look before sliding in beside Dean. Dawn shook her head and said nothing, sitting down and moving over. The brothers sat back down, taking what Faith automatically noticed was the defensive position. It had to be a Winchester thing. Dean always liked to be the one closest to the door when they were sleeping and she suspected it was something like being between her and whatever danger might come. Lucky for him, he was wise enough never to say it out loud, so she didn’t argue. Hell, for all she knew, he might not even have noticed that he did it.
“Did you already order?” Faith asked and Dean shook his head.
“No, but here comes the waitress now,” Sam said, nodding at the woman who was approaching the table. She was holding a carafe of coffee and Faith sighed, flipping over the ceramic mug on the table, craving the caffeine. Sam and Dean both took coffee, but Dawn shook her head.
“No thanks, I’ll get some orange juice with breakfast,” she said and Faith sighed, shaking her head. Dawn noticed and smiled.
“No amount of training is going to give me a taste for coffee, Faith.”
They ordered their meals and handed the waitress their menus, and Faith watched the woman look from Dean to Sam and back again with an appreciative gleam in her eyes. Amused, she wondered if the waitress would write her number on the back of the ticket when she gave them the bill.
It wasn’t like Faith never got jealous. She was possessive as hell and if Dean did anything besides his normal flirting when a woman came onto him, well, there’d probably be blood. Situations like this, though, didn’t bother her. After all, she was the one getting naked and sweaty with him at the end of the day… and sometimes in the middle of the day…

Dean glanced over and Faith and paused for a minute, staring at her. She had a wicked gleam in her eye and he could guess what she was thinking about. He’d always liked it that she didn’t get jealous over little things like a flirty waitress. After all, when he smiled back, they got their food faster.
After the waitress walked away, he looked over at Sam and Dawn and had to wonder what had happened the night before. He didn’t think they’d slept together, they didn’t have that look, but something had happened, that much he was sure of. Sam seemed to be having trouble looking her in the eye and Dawn had that little smile that girls got when they had some kind of secret.
“So what’s the plan? We sticking around town for a few days, make sure the uh- pest problem is taken care of, or do we have somewhere else to be?” he asked Sam.
“Well, I’m pretty sure that Faith and Dawn took care of the pests. Not like they’re amateurs or anything. So we should probably head to the Roadhouse, see if Ellen, Jo and Ash have any leads for us,” Sam said, looking not at Dean, but at Faith with a question in his eyes. Dean looked over at her too, expectantly.
Faith took a drink of her coffee, and then nodded.
“Sounds like a plan,” she said.
Their food arrived then, along with another smile from the waitress. She slid the check under the edge of Dean’s plate with a meaningful glance at him before she walked away. With a grin, Faith snatched the slip of paper and flipped it over.
“So, Dean, you need to make sure and put ‘Becky’ into your cell phone, under ‘anytime’,” she said, laughing quietly, showing them the back of the bill. Dawn laughed and Sam grinned at his brother. Dean sighed and just shrugged.
“What can I say? When you got it, you got it.”
