Kidnapped
Chapter 5
A.N. Anything that is emphasized in this chapter is silent speech.
Some time during the night, while Xander was watching t.v. he had fallen asleep. He didn’t know what he expected when he woke but being in the backseat of a car heading who knows where was not it.
Ugg were are we going? Xander tried to ask but no sound came out.
Spike wasn’t looking back so he didn’t see Xander trying to talk and had no idea he was being asked a question, therefore it was a shock when Xander smacked the back of his head. Spike started complaining about manners but like Xander no sound came out. It was rather disconcerting watching the vampires lips move every time he turned his head back but have no sound come out.
Sighing Xander climbed into the front seat only to have Spike smack his ass. Besides throwing the grinning vampire a glare, Xander decided to ignore him and started looking around for something to write on. He found Jack Daniel’s bottle after Jack Daniel’s bottle but not a slip of paper in sight. How was he going to figure out what was going on if he couldn’t speak and didn’t have anything to write on. Plus he sucked at charades and there wasn’t much room to attempt it even if he wanted to try.
Fed up, Xander began ranting, “Why the hell can’t I speak. First I’m mated to a vampire, then said vampire won’t let me go home. Next I am kidnapped and still I CAN”T SPEAK!”
“Oi, I think you can speak just fine, how bout you quiet down some, super vampire hearing here.”
“I can talk!, I am talking and sound is coming out and I never knew how much I took that for granted. Now what I want to know is: One, where are we going, Two, what happened to the sound and Three, where the HELL are we going!?”
“Have to see Peaches bout some accounts, and while I was out I found out about the new baddies heading to town, couldn’t very well leave you at the hellmouth getting into who knows what kind of trouble, so I brought you along.” Was Spike’s nonchalant answer.
“And what you didn’t figure the other needed to know about this new baddie? Not to mention, you freaking kidnapped me!”
“Don’t care much for the others, now do I? You’re mine, thus I keep you safe and if I have to kidnap you to do it, I will.”
“Gah! Don’t say things like that,” complained Xander.
It wasn’t that Xander didn’t like hearing how much the vampire cared enough to want to keep him safe, it was the opposite, he liked it too much. Growing up he really didn’t have anyone in his family that cared if he was safe, yet here was this evil vampire that was doing just that. “Damn it, I want to help my friends Spike and running away isn’t going to help.”
“Oi, no running, just making a tactile retreat, besides Peaches will need some convensing to give up my accounts and if I have you with me, it wont take long for him to cave. Besides what’s the first thing that happens when a new baddie comes to town?”
“Research?”
“Exactly, and I know for a fact that the broody one has a nice collection of hard to find tomes, that you can do your white hat research with.”
“Oh and how exactly will I tell the girls just what I find out, I can’t call them.”
“Is it the age of technology or what? Email the idiots.”
“Oh right forgot about that.” Xander admitted, “And no calling my friends idiots!”
Xander sat back and thought about the conversation he just had with the chipped wonder when something Spike said caught his attention, “Hey how exactly will my being here help with convincing Angle to do anything, he hates me.”
“The pouf might but Angelus doesn’t, in fact me Sire has a soft spot for you. Wanted to make ya his when he was free but he didn’t get around to it. Not to mention he was a bit crazed after being locked up for so long. Why he wanted to destroy the world, figured if he got caged up once, could happen again and he wanted to put an end to everything to stop it from happening again.” Spike explained.
“Wha-huh? Angelus likes me, Gah talk about nightmare material! So what Angel is one happy away from becoming my worst nightmare? Well he already was but now its like a hundred times worse now. So got to find a way to make his soul permanent because one vamp wanting to mate with me is enough.” Xander pouted, “Why am I such a demon magnet?”
“Don’t know pet, but ya don’t need to worry bout it now, wont let anyone touch you but me now.” Spike place a hand on Xander’s thigh to prove his point.
“Yeah what ever, I gonna sleep, so wake me when we get there. Oh and don’t think your off the hook for the whole kidnapping thing either.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it pet,” smirked Spike.
A.N. You all should feel loved, I am writing this instead of my essay or my computer assignment. It’s not because I am avoiding it at all. Nope not even a little. ;)
