Chapter 5

“What did you say?” the both said. Willow put her hand over her mouth and pointed at Faith, gesturing for her to talk. “I said I feel stronger. I know, I know I’m the Slayer. But I feel, like, really, really strong right now. That was some wicked mojo, Red. Jesus, I feel like I could bench press a fuckin’ car. My whole body is humming with power. What happened?”
“Faith, I have no idea. I am definitely more powerful and…” Willow leaned over and picked up a metal pipe she kept near the bed (hello-hell mouth here!) and promptly bent it in to a U shape, “…definitely stronger.” The girls looked at each other in disbelief. “We’d better go see Giles,” Willow exclaimed. “Something is definitely up.”
The girls were quiet as they each readied to take the trip to Giles’ house. Willow’s hair was slowly fading to its original bronze hue, but the power simmering underneath did not subdue. Willow found she had to focus on keeping her new found strength at bay.
Lost in her own world Faith was getting dressed in her room. When she was finished she sat on the corner of her bed and stared at her hands. What the fuck is going on? I feel really strong, but there’s something more…I just can’t put my finger on it yet. A knock at the door brought Faith out of her inner turmoil. “Faith? Are you dressed? Can I come in?” Willow asked. “Yeah Red, I’m dressed. Come on in.” Willow entered the room for the first time since Faith had moved in. She looked around, nervous about entering Faith’s inner sanctum. “Don’t worry, Red, I ain’t gonna bite ‘cha. Unless, you like that kinda thing..” Faith chuckled as Willow’s face turned completely red. “Relax Red, I’m just pulling your chain.” “ Maybe I do like that kind of thing,” Willow said cheekily eliciting a chuckle from Faith. Willow walked and stood at Faith’s feet. “I am constantly surprised at what I find myself liking these days,” Willow added quietly. Faith looked up at Willow surprised at the words coming from the lithe, yet astoundingly powerful red-head who stood before her. Faith found herself staring in to Willow’s eyes, so lost in the moment she didn’t even realize she was subconsciously reaching for Willow until she felt a surge of energy rush through her body as her hand made contact with Willow’s body. Willow and Faith both jumped back in surprise. “Faith!” Willow exclaimed. “Faith I have a hunch about something. I need you to listen to me.” Willow walked over to Faith’s dresser and picked up a pen. “Faith, listen very carefully. Focus on the pen and try and lift it out of my hand.” “Come on, Red, you know I don’t have any mojo.” Faith said. “Okay then, humor me,” Willow said with her resolve face firmly in place. “Okay, okay, I’m focusing,” Faith muttered. Faith focused on the pencil willing it to lift out of Willow’s hand. Faith began to feel a tingling that surged into a pulsing and watched amazed as the pen flew out of Willow’s hand, teetered in the air and unceremoniously fell to the ground. Faith jumped up. “How did you know I could do that? How come I can do that?” Faith questioned. Willow looked at Faith amazed. “When we touched I could feel the magick’s inside of you,” Willow said, “it was the same feeling the first time Tara and I touched… only at least ten times stronger. “
“We’d better get to Giles like, now.”
