Chapter 5
I know I'm updating fast, but like I said I'm on vacation. This is the first time I've taken a vacation by myself though, and truth be told I'm bored out of my mind. At least I can write. And I'm really really enjoying writing this. So I figured I could appease you guys and finish before I have to go back to work. So here's another chapter.
I'm really glad you guys are reviewing. I think that's the other reason I'm writing really fast. Well that and I'm an insomiac. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
I hope you guys like this chapter. I have a little more, but I'm trying to space it out. There is a flashback in here, but no sex. Sorry. I'll try to add some in the next couple of chapters.
Also, all will be explained about the pregnancy and Faith's leaving. Be patient. :)
(BTW Any offer to wash my clothes is greatly accepted.)

Chapter 5
Faith’s POV
“What’s okay?” I asked Farrah Fawcett.
We had a staring contest. She looked almost like she could care less. But I could feel her, and that wasn’t what she was thinking. She held my gaze, though. And everyone else in the room held their breath. Annie was sitting on my shoulders, swinging her legs.
“What’s everybody staring at?” She asked. I broke my gaze.
When she didn’t answer me, I turned to survey the room. Cordelia and Angel were standing on one side of the pool table; Angel was semi-smiling, while Cordelia looked like she could beat me over the head with the pool stick. I smirked at her.
Xander was trying his best to be intimidating, and failing miserably. “What’s up Xand?”
“Faith,” he said, and moved around to shake my hand. I took one arm off of Annie’s knee, and shook it back. “Good to see you,” he managed to sound convincing.
Andrew was hiding behind Kennedy, who was not smiling at me at all. “Hey Ken,” I tried.
“Faith,” she spat out. Ouch. Ok, find out what I did to her.
I turned to see Willow and Dawn on the couch. Both sets of eyes watching me. Dawn was smiling, Wills wasn’t. “Red. Dawn. How’s it been?”
Dawn continued to smile, “Pretty good Faith. How bout you?”
“Can’t complain,” I lied.
Red, on the other hand, launched into a verbal attack, “Good of you to drop by five years later Faith. God we’ve missed you.” I started to retort, but she held up her hand, “You should take her off your shoulders. That’s dangerous.” I don’t know why, but I obeyed.
“Hey,” Annie said, “That was fun.”
Red spoke up again, “And dangerous. It’s not good to ride on someone’s shoulders, Ann. What if she dropped you?”
Annie nodded, “Ok Wills.”
What the fuck? When did Willow get to be the boss? I started to tell her where she could stick it, when Buffy intervened, “Hungry, Annie?”
She smiled up at her mother. “Yeah.”
Cordelia broke the silence, “Me too. Come on let’s go in the kitchen,” and she took Annnie’s hand.
Angel and Andrew followed them. Ok, now the rest of you can leave.
I heard Annie from the hallway. “Hey Angel, if you got blood from a girl named Mary. Would it be called a bloody Mary? Cause that’s what Mommy said she wanted to drink and I didn’t think anyone here but you drank blood. Cause you know, it is sort of gross.”
I heard Angel reply, but I wasn’t exactly listening. Buffy had moved a little closer to her girlfriend and the movement caught my eye.
“Here’s your drink, Faith,” I turned to look at the girlfriend. She was hot, I’ll give you that. Leggy. Probably five eight or five nine. Nice body, and thick blond wavy hair. The only thing about her I didn’t like was her hand wrapped ever so firmly around B’s waist. She was pulling her closer without even realizing it. I bit my tongue. You may be a slayer, but I could still kick your ass, I wanted to say. Instead, I just smiled and took the drink. I couldn’t help but drag my finger across her hand as I took it.
She jerked back instinctively, eyeing me. Buffy spoke. “Do you have a place to stay?”
Blondie turned around suddenly. Jealous, bitch? “Hadn’t thought that far ahead, B.”
She looked like she was trying to smile. She grabbed the girlfriend’s hand and walked in front of her. “You can stay here. There is plenty of room.”
There were about three throat clearings then. I looked to the others. Kennedy and Willow looked murderous. Dawn was smiling. “I’m hungry. Anyone else?” No one else moved. “Slayers,” she mumbled walking out of the room.
I moved passed B and her fling and sat down at the bar. I turned to look at them. “So Mica, where are you from?”
“Monica,” she said.
“Santa Monica?”
Kennedy scooted closer to me. “Her name is Monica.” She growled.
I turned to her quickly. I could tell she was a little surprised. I’d given no indication that I even knew she was there. “You gotta fuckin problem, Ken?”
She got closer, if that was possible. Ok, this is obviously encroaching on my personal space. “Yeah, Faith. I gotta problem. You gonna do something about it?”
I stood up and sat my drink down, “Well I could. But I’m not sure why I should bother. I don’t recall doing anything to piss you off.” I turned away from her. A bold move, I know, “but hey, I’ve pissed a lot of people off in my time. So who knows?”
“Back off Kennedy,” I heard Red say.
I smiled at her. “Good idea Red, don’t want to get your honey hurt.”
Kennedy launched at me, but I backed away quickly. She ran into the bar and came up swinging. I dodged her first punch and went to hit her back when B grabbed me around the waist. “Nope. No fighting in here.”
I thrust back into her. Just a small movement. But one she couldn’t ignore. “You’re the boss, B.”
She let go of me quickly, “Red’s…um I mean, Willow’s right. Back off Kennedy.” Buffy stammered.
Kennedy rolled her eyes and went to stand by Mica. Oh, I get it, they’re friends. I smiled an understanding at Ken, rolling my eyes.
Buffy’s chick came up and stood behind her. Damn she was tall. She made B look like a little shrimp. And she was mad. So the chickie can get mad?
Everyone was staring at me. Not that I cared. I sat back down on my stool and grabbed my drink. I twirled around in the seat and looked at them. “So what are we gonna do about all of this?” I asked.
FLASHBACK
POV None
Buffy followed Angel into his office. Cordelia was standing behind his desk.
“What’s up?”
She saw Cordelia smirk and rolled her eyes. Angel spoke. “Sit down, Buffy.” His voice sounded strained.
“Why are you acting like that?” She didn’t take the offered chair, “What’s wrong?”
She watched Angel’s face. He wasn’t giving away anything until she sat. “Ugh, fine.” She sat down. “Now, what is it?”
Angel cleared his throat. “Well Buffy, we got a phone call today…”He said. He stopped for a moment and cleared his throat again, “The thing is, it was for you. It was more of a message really…I don’t know how to say this…Truth is I can’t figure out …” He took a deep breath, “It just doesn’t make any sense…”
Buffy was sitting in the chair looking up at him. “What?” She asked, getting a little more than exasperated.
Angel hemmed a bit more.
“Oh for god’s sake,” Cordelia said, “Buffy, you’re OB/GYN called. You’re pregnant.” She threw her hands up in the air, “Congratulations.” She looked at the seated girl, whose color was quickly draining from her face, “Now to Angel’s question. Who the fuck have you been sleeping with besides Faith?”
No one could say that Cordy minced words.
Buffy didn’t speak for a moment. “What?” She finally whispered out.
Angel held up his hand to keep Cordy from going into the diatribe again. “No Buffy, she’s right. Listen to the message.”
*Miss Summers this is Andrea from Dr. Walter’s office. We got your test results back. Nothing to be alarmed about – You’re pregnant. Congratulations. By our calculations you are around eight weeks. That’s pretty far along without being treated. So come by in the morning and we will work you in. The doctor has some things to go over with you. Congratulations again, Buffy. See you tomorrow. *
Angel spoke up again. “We thought she was talking to Dawn, until she said your name.”
He waited for her to say something. “No. I was the one who went to the doctor today. I just gave them this number. I never thought. I mean, I never imagined…well, I couldn’t have guessed…they’ve got to be wrong.”
But as she said the words, she knew they were right. She couldn’t figure it out, but she knew. It explained everything from the sore breasts and missed periods to the slight swelling around her navel. And here I thought I was just overeating, she mused.
Cordelia spoke, as if reading her mind, “I thought you were putting on a little weight.”
Angel looked at her, as if to say not helping. He turned to Buffy, “How?”
Buffy stood up, “I have no fucking idea.” She started pacing the room, “Unless Faith has a secret she isn’t telling me.”
“Well if she does,” Cordelia declared, “than you will officially be the densest person I know.” Buffy shot her a look, “I mean we all know Faith is good,” Another look. “Hey,” Cordelia smirked, “the people on the next block know Faith is good. ‘Oh god Faith. Right there Faith. Harder Faith.’ Jesus Buffy, Giles and Dawn are scarred for life. Not to mention what you’ve done to Andrew.”
Angel cleared his throat, “Cordy,” he warned.
“I’m just saying. Faith is good, but is she that good, Buff?”
Any other time and Buffy would have tried to kick her ass. At the moment though she was lost in her own thoughts. How the hell did this happen? And what was she going to do?
Faith had taken longer than anticipated in the shower. Needless to say, it had been a cold one. When she got back into the room, Buffy was sitting on the bed.
She ran the towel through her hair, and walked to their dresser. “What’s up, B?” She asked the girl.
Buffy, though, had barely acknowledged Faith. She had gone to the room; intent on telling her what was going on. She needed help. They needed to figure out what was happening.
Problem was how was she going to tell her.
Faith crossed the room and crouched down in front of her. Smiling up at her. Running her hands up and down her legs. “Everything okay, baby?” She’d asked.
Buffy couldn’t do it. She couldn’t tell her. She had to figure this out first. How would Faith believe she hadn’t cheated on her? Cordy and Angel thought she was lying. It did, in fact, defy all the laws of biology. Didn’t change the fact that she had no reasonable explanation for it. At least she had talked the two of them into being quiet about it.
She ran her hand through Faith’s hair, “Yep,” she said, standing up, “Now get ready. We’re going out.”
