Wesley watched Faith as she spoke with Spike. Anyone with eyes could see he was jealous of the blonde vampire.

Faith laughed at something he’d said and nodded, as if agreeing with something else he’d said.

Their bodies were almost touching, they were so close.

“Wesley?” Willow asked again, the third time finally pulling him from his daze.

“Hmm, uh, Willow. Yes?”

“Th-the spells done. I’m not sure how long it’ll last, but it should be a good week at least.”

Wesley nodded. “Thank you. I’m sure it’s fine.”

Buffy came in and heaved a huge spell book onto the desk.

“Missed some intense spell casting, Wes.” She commented with a grin.

He smiled. “I’ll live.”

Faith walked in, followed by Spike.

“What’s up?” the brunette slayer asked as she hoped onto the counter.

“Spell’s done.” Buffy answered. “Courtesy of Wicca Willow.”

Faith nodded. “Wicked. That mean you guys leaving?”

Willow shook her head. “No, just in case the spell backfires. I’ve been known to have my spells go kaplooey. So I might need to do it again.”

Buffy nodded. “Yeah, and Angel mentioned that these lawyers are real persistent and bad ass. Y’might need help.”

Faith shrugged and nodded.

Spike looked outside, seeing the sun was setting. “I need a drink. See ya.” He drawled before taking off.

Faith watched him go, tempted to follow him. A drink sounded good, real good.

“Faith, can I talk to you?” Wesley asked, walking out of the office and up the stairs to his room.

Faith sighed and sluggishly dropped off the counter, reluctantly following him up into his room. She closed the door behind her and looked at him impatiently. “What now?”

“I don’t think I need to remind you that Spike’s a vampire.”

“Duh. I think the fact that he drinks blood from a mug is a pretty good reminder.” She scoffed dismissively.

“You been spending much of your time with him. You haven’t been train-“

“I’ve been hanging out with him. And I’ve been training in the basement at night.”

“You’re not supposed to be alone.”

“Spike watches me. Y’know, he killed two slayers. He’s just doing a little critiquing. It’s just like hangint wit with Angel.”

“Angel’s got a soul.”

“So? Spike can’t hurt me. What’s wrong with me hanging with him? He’s cool to talk to.”

“He’s cool to flirt with.” He mentally kicked himself in the ass for saying that. He hadn’t wanted to let her know how he really felt about the situation between her and Spike. Now she knew.

She smirked. “You’re jealous.”

“Please.” He scoffed.

“No, you’re so jealous of the time I’ve been spending with him.”

“Faith-“

“I gaI gave you an open opportunity to try and figure shit out with us. I opened up to you. The last person on earth I ever thought I would and you said no. Because it wasn’t right. Now I’m getting along with another guy and doing a little harmless flirting and you don’t like it?”

“We’re both well aware of what ‘a little harmless flirting’ leads to with you.”

Faith flinched at the words at they penetrated deep. Before he could apologize she slapped him hard.

“Just stay the fuck away from me.” She growled and stormed out of his room, slamming his door shut.

She ran down to the lobby and grabbed her jacket, heading to the front doors.

“Faith, where are you-“

“Out. And don’t think of following me.”

Ten minutes later she found herself in a bar, searching the crowd for the familiar bleach blonde head.

She smiled when she spotted him in a dark corner, sitting with his head back in his chair. She went over to him and stood in front of the table he was at.

“Mind some company?” she asked, not hiding her irratability.

Spike smiled and shook his head, motioning for her to have a seat.

Two bottles of tequila later found them sitting much closer together.

“Exactly! No one else understands.” She frowned and shook her head.

He nodded. “I get you. I’m always itchin’ for a good fight.”

She smiled. “Same here. Ain’t it crazy how slayin’ always seems to make you hungry and horny?”

He eyed her closely a moment, smiling slyly. “Y’know, you really aren’t you’re average slayer.”

“That good or bad?”

He shrugged. “Could be good, could be bad. Jury’s still out.”

She smirked and nodded. “Anything I can do to sway them?”

He cocked a brow as he looked her up and down. “Maybe… depends on what you plan to do.”

She glanced around quickly, making sure no one was around and no one was planning on coming around. When she was satisfied they wouldn’t be disturbed, she swung her leg over his and pulled herself onto his lap.

He looked up, eyes meeting hers and they smiled before she lowered her lips to his, kissing him hungrily.

His hands immediately slid up her thighs to her waist, pulling her closer. After a moment, he pulled back to allow her to breathe.

“Y’know, I wouldn’t feel right about doing this if I didn’t tell you something.” she smiled.

He nodded. “’Kay.”

“Well, we’ve uh, we’ve met before.” She purred, laughing throatily at the look of confusion that overcame his face.

He shook his head. “I think… no, I know I would’ve remembered meet-“

“I could ride you at a gallop until you popped like warm champagne.” She interrupted, grinding herself against him. “…squeeze you with muscles you’ve never even dreamed of.”

He stared at her, dumbfounded. “How…” he breathed, as a small smile slowly tugged at the corners of his mouth. He shook his head and slid a hand behind her head, pulling her back to his lips.

“Explain later…” he growled before kissing her again.

She moaned in agreement as she slid her hands down his chest to his pants. She quickly unfastened his pants, followed by her own and he thrust up into her with a muffled grunt.

“You let her out by herself?!” Angel fumed, glaring at Buffy, Willow and Wesley. He stalked off, grabbing his coat.

Buffy took off after him, grabbing his shoulder and turning him around.

“She was pissed beyond belief, Angel! If anyone even tried to follow her at a distance, she would’ve flipped out! You and I both know that’s the last thing she needs.”

Angel stared at her a moment, almost about to agree with her.

“Besides, Willow did the spell. Angel, I’m sure she’s fine. I know she’s okay.”

He nodded and put his coat back down. “Why was she so pissed?” he asked, immediately glaring over at Wesley.

Wesley glared back, not in the mood for this shit. “We had a dieemeeement and she over reacted. What else is new?”

“Yeah, I’ll bet.” The vampire scoffed.

Buffy looked between Wesley and Angel, placing her hands on her hips.

“There ain’t ever gonna be a day when I come in here and see smiles, is there?” Gunn asked sarcasticly as he, Fred and Lorne walked in.

“Faith’s gone.” Angel growled.

Gunn and Fred exchanged looks and Buffy looked at them hopefully.

“You know where she is?”

“She- she’s alright. Sh-’s w’s with um, Spike.”

“Spike? So she’s at the bar. What’s she doing with Spike?” Willow asked in confusion, not really expecting an answer.
Fred and Gunn exchanged another look and Buffy’s jaw dropped a little.

“Oh… she- they’re-“

“Oh!” Willow gasped, eyes wide.

Faith returned to the hotel after everyone had retreated to their rooms. She couldn’t have been happier about that. She was sobering up and it was not a good feeling.

She stumbled up the stairs to her room, closing her door as quietly as a dunk slayer could.

The bed looked so inviting and it was the only thing that seemed to be standing still in the spinning room. She stumbled over to it and fell onto it, sighing deeply. She laughed.

“Oh, you really fucked up this time, Faith.” She told herself as she continued to laugh.

“First step is admitting you have a problem or you’ve fucked up.” Wesley’s voice came from behind her.

She arched her back up, pushed her head farther back until she spotted him. She sighed and relaxed her body when she saw him.

“What are you doing here?”

He sat down next to her, holing out a glass of water and two aspirin.

She sat up slowly and gently took them, sipped the water and tilted her head back.

“Thanks.” She sighed.

He nodded and sighed. “Wanted to talk. Or really to apologize.”

She looked at him and narrowed her eyes. “Y’ever notice how those two sentences seem to be the most spoken ones here?” she scoffed.

“I, uh, hear you ran into Spike.”

“You had someone follow me?”

“Fred and Gunn spotted the two of you in a-“

“ ‘Compromising position’?” she rolled her eyes.

“In a chair no less.”

Faith looked at him a moment before standing and shrugging off her jacket.

“Y’know, it was more comfortable than up against a wall in an alley.” She said icily, her back to him.

Wesley looked at the floor a moment before nodding. He looked back up at her and sighed.

“Right then.” He said softly and stood.

She turned and they looked at each other, eyes locking a moment. It took so much for him to not reach out for her, not touch her.

She quickly tore her eyes away from his and he left.

She stood there another moment, silent and still. Finally she changed out of her clothes and crawled into her bed where she cried herself to sleep.
