Hi at all! Sorry for the delay in updates but I got a little busy the last few days. Thank you all very much for reviewing me.
Elanor: I have to say that your German after three classes (103 equals third class, right?) is much better than my English was at that time, even if it wasn’t completely right. ;) (if you got any questions email me)
So now for the story, it again is chapter a little bit longer but finally we’re getting somewhere.
I hope you like it, R & R, tell me what you think!
Hugs to all!

Chapter 5: Deal

They left the bookstore together steering for Buffy’s car. Spike got his black leather duster firmly in place after he had taken it off of the wardrobe beside the store’s door and put it on. Spike, all gentlemen like walked behind Buffy, and bumped right into her after she suddenly stopped at the right side of her ride.

“Bloody hell woman, won’t you tell a bloke before you stop that abruptly” Spike told her. Not that the feeling he got would have been unpleasant but it made him look kind of clumsy.

“Spike… uhh … wrong side of the car?” she grinned at him while she still tried to cope with that warm and fuzzy feeling she got when a definitely well shaped and muscular formed body, Spike’s body, had bumped into her from behind.

*Damnit, when she’s around I don’t seem to care about anything else, pathetic git, just play it cool* he told himself.

“Well I thought you would give me the chance to try out your Nissan Skyline. I’ve never driven a G-TR” he told her smugly.

“I see you have made a bit of homework boy” she mocked him “but I have to disappoint you, nobody ever gets to drive my ride and you won’t be an exception to that unwritten rule.”

“You fear that somebody might drive it a notch better than you, luv?”

“Yes indeed, but more important I fear somebody driving my car without knowledge or control over it and by that scratching or even crashing it” she smiled at him.

*Yeah mate, quite cool you played that one* his brain told him and Spike mentally told it where it could get lost. Casually he strode over to the other side of the car and got in while Buffy entered at the driver’s side.

“Please fasten your seatbelt” she told him and Spike followed her command and mock saluted to her. Buffy started the car and the left for Downtown L.A.

Meanwhile at Buffy Summers Racing

“Hey guys, where’s my sister?” Dawn chirped as she entered the garage and brought her school stuff into the office.

“She’s out getting that loser from a few days before to offer him a job here at the garage” Xander told her in voice that held everything but happiness.

“Why’s that” she asked “I thought Buffy didn’t want anybody else working here except for us because of the risk of to much people.”

“Well Dawnie,” Willow tuned into the conversation “Riley was here before and threatened here because of the BMW and she kinda freaked and wanted to secure the situation. It seems that she told Riley something about the car not being hers.”

“Ah okay, that explains it. I thought she went after him because she had the hots for him” Dawn told with a grin.

“What?” Xander asked exasperated.

“Well, duh, haven’t you seen the looks she gave him all the time? I know my sister and I know when she gets turned on by a guy, which, for the record, didn’t happen very often since her break-up with …”

“Stop it right there Dawn, I don’t wanna hear anything about it” Xander said while he placed his hands over his ears.

“I’m just saying is all” she shrugged “Willow you saw it to, didn’t you?”

“Well, I … I’m not sure, but I think there was a little sparkage...” Willow told the teenager.

“La la la la, I’m not hearing anything” Xander sang loudly while still keeping his hands pressed on his ears.

Somewhere Downtown L.A.

“So what’s your little deal about, luv?” Spike asked Buffy all the while driving through the streets of L.A. .

“Before I can offer you my deal I have to ask you two questions and I need you to answer them honestly please, if that’s okay with you” she told him.

“Sure pet, ask me…”

“First I need to know if you have ever been reported to the police or have any kind of criminal history” Buffy asked her first question.

“I don’t know why that has to be important, but yeah I have once been in contact with the law but was never sentenced. I got into a brawl at a bar, where I got myself a little reminder of the fact that one versus four always is outnumbered” he told here while pointing at the scar in his left eyebrow.
“They released me because they said they started it and I only defended myself.”

“Okay so you got nothing listed on your report?” Buffy wanted to get those questions over quick, hopefully with the right answers.

“Nothing as far as I know, pet. I hope that’s what you wanted to hear” he answered.

“Yeah that’s pretty good” she told him sincerely” Now my next question. Where did you get that ride from you raced with against me?”

“I bought it from a guy who had several German imports for sale. I just can’t seem to remember the name. Something starting with A. Andy, Anny, Angus… no … wait the guy’s name was Angel I believe. Yep a big, bulky dark-haired guy named Angel. Quite the poof if you ask me. He got that kind of broody air surrounding him.

Spike missed Buffy starting to pale and clenching her steering wheel tightly while he answered her question. The car got faster and faster while they drove on but that fact too went by Spike without him recognizing it.

“A… A… Angel you say? Dark, broody, bulky? Full name maybe Liam Angelus?” Buffy stuttered at Spike.

“Yeah right, that’s the guy I got the car from. You know him? … Buffy? You’re a little pale, are you feeling well? Buffy!!? Stop the car you’re going much to fast!” Spike’s voice rose with each word.
“No, no, no not Angel please not him, I can’t believe it, I can’t take it, please, god no…” Buffy ranted in her own little world totally oblivious to her speed or even to Spike sitting right beside her screaming at her.

The events taking place in the next few seconds where not recognized by Buffy.

She steered frontally into the direction of a truck driving their direction and Spike gripped the steering wheel with his right hand turned it around as far as he could with one hand, while pulling the hand brake full force. The car’s back broke out and spun the car around, still with a mighty speed. Spike gripped the wheel as tightly as humanly possible and tried to control the car. As it stopped mere inches in front of a wall Spike was panting and sweating like he had run a marathon and tried to calm his nerves.

“Bloody hell women, if you can’t control you speed don’t drive that fast” he screamed at Buffy.

“No, no not Angel why does this happen to me…” Buffy still hadn’t snapped out of her rant.

“Buffy? Buffy come on snap out of it!” Spike screamed at her while shaking her vigorously, trying to break her out of her panic attack.

As she looked up at him he saw tears streaming down her face and took all the misery openly displayed on her face.

“That’s good. Listen to me, pet, let’s switch, we drive to a little coffee house I know three blocks away and we get you all fixed-up and then we talk.” Spike told her gently and stroked the tears out of her face with his thumbs.

She only nodded and they changed seats. Spike started the engine and tried to get the car moving. Due to not really knowing the car’s power it died out on him two times before he finally got it rolling. Buffy sat in the passenger’s seat her legs pulled up against her chest with her arms around them staring blankly outside the side window.

============================================================

A few minutes later they arrived at the coffee house and Buffy excused herself to the ladies room obviously embarrassed by her little outbreak earlier.

Spike found an empty booth for two at the far wall of the coffee house and ordered two cups of coffee when the waitress asked him for his order. As Buffy returned from the bathroom two steaming cups of coffee stood waiting at the table. Buffy took her seat in the booth and closed her hands around her cup and inhaled its content’s smell deeply.

“So luv, you care to share what got you so upset out there that you got us almost killed?” Spike asked in stern voice.

“Sorry, I didn’t want to endanger you. I just got upset as I heard from who you got that car” she told him in a whisper.

“What’s up with that guy that got you so upset?” he asked curiously.

“He… he… is my ex-boyfriend. It didn’t go well the time we broke up…” she stuttered “and please I don’t want to talk about him or that subject at all, so please don’t make me” her voice still getting lower.

Spike saw her pleading eyes and decided to let it rest until later. He decided that maybe a little joke would lighten her mood and so he gave it a shot.
“Well, that’s okay by me, as I’m still content that I got to drive your car. I must inform you that’s it’s a really smooth ride once you got it rolling. So about the deal you wanted to offer, would you like to share the details, pet?”

“Well don’t get used to it. You won’t drive it again anytime soon” she told him with a little smile “but as for my offer, I want you to work for me.”

“How comes the sudden change of mind?” Spike asked smirking at her.

“Well it seems that the car you got from Angel is hot. The police came to my garage and asked me about it. So I need you to be the owner of the car as far as it’s not legal to drive for bets.”

“Interesting… well I think I like your offer so far. But I got a few rules myself that I’d like to put in that little deal of ours. But it’s nice that you offer me my car back …” Spike’s smirk got bigger with each word.

“Wait” she broke him off ” we have to sell the car immediately. But we will get you a new ride.”

“What? You mean I have to work for you, but I can’t keep my car?” Spike’s face fell immediately “That’s doesn’t sound like something I like.”

“Spike, please, believe me, if the car’s hot we have to get rid of it as soon as possible. We can’t take any chances. The police are gunning for me and if they happen to get to know that the BMW is yours they will be for you too.”

“Okay so the car has to go. Any other things you would have in our little agreement?” he asked angry.

“No not so far, as long as you accept the selling of your and you accepting me as your boss I’m okay” she answered honestly.

“Alright, luv, listen up, here are my demands for our little arrangement. First I want to choose my new car. Second I want to tune it the way it suits me, third I want to race for your team…”

“Stop it right there mister, that’s never going to...” Buffy broke him off.

“Let me finish, now won’t you? Third, I want to race for you team when there’s a possibility. That’s all!” He told her sternly.

“Okay as for your demands…” she started.

“Oh wait I got one last thing I want. I want you to go on a date with me sometime” he told her with his trademark smirk in place.

“Excuse me?!?” she sputtered “You must be kidding me, first your laughable demands about the car and racing and now you want me to agree to you taking me out on a date? Forget it, that deal should have never been mentioned in the first place” she told him in outrage while she started to get up from the table.

“Your choice, luv, that are the rules. Accept them or there won’t be a deal. But I personally think you should think about it, as it seems you had a reason why you searched for me in the first place” he told her, the smirk gone, sipping his coffee.

The picture from her nightstand flashed before Buffy’s inner eye. Dawn, Willow, Xander standing in front of the garage smiling and winking into the camera. Suddenly Buffy realised that whatever the deal was about she had to agree to it, because she wouldn’t lose Dawn. Not again. She would sell her body just to keep her by her side. And how bad could it be? He would choose a stupid ride and race for her. *Yeah, I think you forget that date* a little voice inside her head told her. Well as long as I don’t like it nothing will happen out of it she answered her conscience stubbornly.*Whatever*

“Okay Spike, I accept your demands as long as you follow my orders concerning the garage, racing or cars in general” she told him grimacing.

“As long as it doesn’t touch the rule of me choosing my new ride and tuning it up that’s shall be alright with me” he answered her.

“Deal?” Buffy held her hand out in front of her.

“Deal.”
