Epilogue
A/N The sex is over now, there is just a tiny bit of plot that goes along with Closure.
Epilogue:
When Spike awoke later that afternoon, he was completely disoriented. The last thing he remembered was getting hit with some weird magic ray, then there were some weird jumbled dreams he had involving Peaches, Dru and Buffy. Granted the dreams were the stuff great porn movies were made of, but they were not his usually fantasies. Most of those involved playing the harem girl again like she did when they were in the Middle East.
He stretched out his senses for his beautiful Slayer, but she was blocked to him. He sat upright quickly wondering where she was and why she would do that.
That’s when he saw.
There on the floor, Drusilla and Angel, naked and asleep on the floor. Everything came flooding back and Spike realized that it hadn’t been a dream at all. He jumped out of bed and started throwing on clothes.
“She left about an hour ago.” Angel’s voice surprised him, but Spike couldn’t turn and look at him.
“What the hell happened?”
“You got blasted with something and were trapped outside your body. She had me call Dru to try and call you back, unfortunately Dru call only the demon back.”
Spike turned then to look at him. They met each other’s eyes levely, but Angel was the first to look down. Spike wished that he could feel proud of that fact, but he was too worried about Buffy.
“Why didn’t you stop her?” Spike asked him.
“What was I going to say?”
Spike left the room, to try and find her.
Thankfully Buffy hadn’t gone far, just down to the beach to sit by the water’s edge. The fact that she chose the side of the island that was hidden from the sun at this time of day gave him even more hope.
She didn’t say anything when he approached he even though he knew she was aware of him. He rested his hand lightly on her shoulder and gave her a light kiss on top of her head. Still she didn’t say anything, she didn’t respond at all.
“Buffy…” He began.
“I want to go home for a while.” She interrupted him.
He wondered what she meant this was their home.
“California.” She clarified. “Giles had asked me to teach some of the older girls some advanced fighting techniques. Kinda like seminars or something.”
“We can go whenever you want.” Spike told her confused, at her choice in topics of conversation right now.
“No. I want to go and I want you to stay here.” She told him firmly.
Spike grabbed her and made her turn to face him.
“You’re leaving me?!?” He asked her incredulously.
“No, I just need some time right now.” Her voice shook as she said this.
“Luv, I know you are upset about what happened, and I’m so sorry…”
”You have no reason to be sorry. I understand, logically, everything that happened and why, I just can’t…” Tears appeared in her eyes and knowing that she couldn’t properly explain how she felt she let down the wall she had up.
Spike immediately felt her confusion and pain as well as her shame. “Oh baby I’m so sorry, I never meant…” Tears formed in his own eyes now. “You can’t leave, not like this. Not because of this. We can work through this.”
Buffy shook her head. “I just need some time. Please Spike. I need to figure this out on my own.” She pleaded with him and even though it went against everything he believed in, he couldn’t say no to her.
“When are you planning on leaving?”
“Tonight. I should actually go get packed now.”
Spike just nodded not trusting himself to say any thing, she just walked away from him, back to the house. The pain that lanced through him brought him to his knees where he stayed there huddled late into the night, until Angel came and forced him back inside before the sun came up.
Buffy had already left.
She hadn’t even come back to say goodbye.
