I do not own Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BtVS), nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
A few more points
Tears rolled down Dawn's face as she summoned up her courage to speak. "Giles...I think there's something wrong with Buffy, i think she's possessed or something, she's acting so strangely"
Giles raised an eyebrow. "As if someone else was using her body?"
"Exactly!"
"Took you long enough to work out squirt" a familar voice said behind her. Dawn turned and was petrified to see Faith standing there, Quentin Travers beside her. "Tara and Willow realised ages ago"
"It's OK Dawn" Giles cautioned, "Faith switched bodies with Buffy somehow, that's why she's been acting so strangely"
"Giles are you sure?"
He nodded. "Buffy escaped from the council easily, well she is Buffy after all" he and Buffy/Faith shared a grin "NO-ONE could hold her. She came to me and convinced me it was her, Willow and Tara came to the same conclusion. The clincher was when we pretended the council were going to kill 'Faith' and 'Buffy' didn't care or try to save her..."
"Because the real Buffy would always care" Dawn understood.
"Exactly" Travers seemed pleased with himself.
Dawn looked at 'Faith' suspiciously. "Buffy, when did I get sunburnt?"
"When dad took us to Disneyland. And your favourite cartoon was My Little Pony and your first pet was a kitten you called Tiddles"
"What happened to Tiddles?"
"When we moved to our LA house we had nowhere to keep him so we gave him to Aunt Arlene"
"BUFFY!" she threw her arms around 'Faith's' waist and hugged her, her sister returning her hug with her borrowed body.
Travers and Giles shared a smile at the sight. "What about Faith?" Quentin inquired.
"Willow and Tara are cooking up a little something for her" Giles responded.
*
Faith raced through the night towards the council safehouse as fast as Buffy's body would take her. "Why the hell am I doing this?" part of her asked herself. But the guilt was overwhelming her.
"I have to save her, I can't let Buffy die"
*
"You nearly finished?" she asked Dawn.
"Just a minute" Dawn brought the spoon to her lips and finished the last of the soup from Buffy's upturned head. Buffy's headless body walked up to them and Dawn replaced her head on the shoulders. Buffy leaned her head to one side and shook out most of the soup onto her shoulder, Dawn drying it up with a napkin.
"I'm a butterfly, I'm a butterfly!" Xander announced flitting past, pursued through the purple mountains of Switzerland by the Vienna Boy's Choir on flying mopeds.
"I've got to be less surreal" Buffy decided.
"Sperm whale" Dawn agreed.
*
Wes looked up from his writing as Spike materialised beside him. Spike's expression was one of sheer panic. "Tell me it's not true!" he begged.
Wes nodded sadly. "It is I'm afraid" he looked resignedly at the monitor in his office. "England all out for 195, Pakistan to bat after lunch"
"God no!" Spike swore.
*
"Dawn!" Buffy objected wiping away the holy water.
"Just checking" Dawn responded.
Buffy stepped uninvited inside the Summer's house and pointed to her reflection in the hall mirror, holding up the cross around her neck. "Proof enough?"
Dawn nodded, still stunned. Joyce looked at Buffy stupefied. "But...but you were dead!"
Buffy nodded. "I was. And now I'm back. Just accept it mom, I'm back, it's me, I..."
She couldn't finish the sentence as Joyce enveloped her in her arms. It was a full 15 minutes before she let her go. And another 5 for Dawn.
Then Buffy began a long night of explanations.
*
Buffy's hands strained against the manacles, having to stand on her tiptoes as they were suspended from the ceiling. Her naked body rubbed provocatively against Willow's equally nude form, Willow's manacles raised a little higher. As they faced each other the bushel of stinging nettles suspended between their breasts stung their nipples into sweet torment every time Glory cracked her whip, alternatively lashing their backs, thighs and buttocks. She had long since given up not trying to cry out and their screams rent the air with passion.
"I will not come" she told herself resolutely, "I will not come, I will not come, I will not come...."
*
"Good thing Dawnie needed help with her science homework" Giles observed.
"Yes" Jenny replied. "Otherwise Angelus might have caught me at the school by myself"
*
"Christ, you guys get out of here!" Ben implored them reaching to undo the manacles.
"Where had he come from?" Buffy wondered. Oh well it didn't matter now. "Ben?" she asked.
"Yeah?"
"Could you give us just a couple of more minutes?"
Ben looked at her, shocked. He gazed at Willow who nodded enthusiastically. He shrugged and very gently cracked the whip against their bodies once more.
"HARDER!" Willow demanded
*
Dawn tiptoed terrified past the bathroom, struck by the weirdness of being afraid in her own house. But she was afraid. Because Buffy was in there. For all the terrors of the streets of Sunnydale, home was now the scariest place of all. The sobs reached her ears. She stopped and peeked timidly around the doorframe. Buffy was looking at herself in the mirror. There was something in her hand, something shiny...
"God, Buffy no!" She screamed and raced forwards. She didn't know how she was able to do it, Buffy was the Slayer after all but she wrenched the razor blade free. Buffy collapsed in the corner and simply wept.
"Oh Dawnie, let me die, please let me die, I raped you, I forced myself on you, I don't know why, I can't live with myself, I'm evil, let me die, Faith can be the Slayer, I deserve to go to hell"
Dawn bent down and wrapped the shallow cuts on her arms with a towel. She washed the blood away and cleaned and bandaged Buffy's wounds. She half walked, half carried her to her bed. She laid Buffy down and covered her with the blankets before stripping to her underwear and slipping in beside her. Buffy tried to shy away as Dawn wrapped her arms around her sister's waist.
"Oh god, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."
Dawn kissed her on the lips. "I know, it's all ok, I love you"
"I love you too"
Dawn laid her head on Buffy's chest and listened to her cry herself
to sleep. Then she joined her in a deep, dreamless slumber.
Home was no longer a place of fear. It would never, ever, be again.
*
"You said the guilt from this spell would make her kill herself! You said she couldn't live with herself after we made her rape her little sister!" Harmony accused the Shamam.
He shrugged, putting his crystal ball away. "I guess some things are more powerful than a lust spell" he observed.
"Like what?"
"Forgiveness?" he suggested.
She snapped his neck then stalked off into the night in a furious
huff.
*
Buffy gazed at herself in the mirror, her health and beauty magically restored by Wolfram and Hart's supernatural surgeons, the mutilation and torture marks gone forever, her body just as it was before, in it's prime. The door opened and her friends and family crowded around her.
"I'm beautiful again!" she declared as they hugged her joyfully.
"You always were!" Angel thought to himself as he paid the surgeons. He knew there had to be some advantages to be had over normal people, disability and disfigurement were something they could overcome with ease. The shamen turned to him before he left.
"You know I could extend the spell to you, you could see her cured like test est of the world"
Angel looked at Buffy, the one person in the world who could see past the glamour spell, seeing her as deformed as she really was, everything from her self inflicted suicide attempt marks to the stitches where her body parts had been re-attached.
"No" he decided, "I want to see her as she really is"
Some feedback I recieved and my response to it;
Anon 2004-09-05 id # 277197
Easy way to stop annoying people so you get less negative feedback? 1) Stop bumping this crap to the top of the page every so often. There's no reason an older story needs to keep being on the top besides you being desperate for feedback. Instead of coming back months later to "edit" it, just check it before you post the freakin' thing. 2) There's no reason for different parts of the same story to be listed seperatly. Just put them in one story in different chapters like everybody else manages to do. 3) "Why we write this" implies that you have some background/authority/inside knowledge and since you clearly don't, implying such is misleading and just plain annoying. "Why *riterite this" would make more sense. Besides the fact that it doesn't explain that at all. People have different reasons for writing things and you're being rather arrogant assuming that you know all.
As for the story itself? I have to ask: what story? Writing down a bunch of three sentence to one paragraph long "drabbles" does not make a story. This reads more like a brainstorming session than anything that anybody else couossiossibly find interesting.

Ah! Anon, my old nemisis, you return!(but still too gutless to leave your name?)
Ok, deal with each point in turn. Had to edit these as I watched the last season of Angel and it contradicted various bits of the story. When Buffy bites the turok-han's penis off it turns to dust in my original but after watching 'Damaged' it's obvious that doesn't happen to vamp flesh when you detach it (Spikes arms). also at Dawn's wedding I originally had Cordy in the congregation and Connor not knowing who Angel was, both of which had to change.
this required editing rather than adding a new chapter and that puts it to the top. lord knows i don't need ratings, I published WDWWT on so many forums tens of thousands of people must read it by now and I've loads of reviews, I've been adding chapters with feedback to them but this did need editing.
Don't claim to be an authority in anything. I published these as a happy ending to every concievable darkfic you could ever read (I challenge you to find a fic whose unhappy ending isn't rescued by it. I love these characters, I'll always save them) and also to get reaction from people and find out. the conclusions I came to were based solely on the feedback I recieved from readers and authors whose works I sampled. I've published some of it with their permission on the new chapters but most of it was confidential (and don't you dare try to tell people what they should believe, Osama!)
as for the idea that you don't like the format, first of all, I'm sampling vast amounts of fic (check out my sources list and you'll get some idea how much). if i was to write a full length parody of every fic out there I would need to be immortal to finish it. so by it's nature it's bitty. to say it's disjointedmissmissing the point however, that's like complaining Pulp Fiction or the Usual Suspects is disjointed. sometimes short pithy works can be more effective than long drawn out ones. check this out from my story Deoobioobies. all you have to know is that Angelus has wiped out the Scooby Gang and Buffy is alone;
"Wesley Wyndham-Price" he extended his hand towards her.
"Whatever" she looked away.
Buffy watched silently as she sobbed by Cordelia's graveside. Eventually she spoke. "You shouldn't be here at night, Harm, it's not safe"
"We have to save her! We can't let Harmony die, we can't lose another one!" Wesley stared in terror at Buffy who seemed consumed with panic. He straightened his tie nervously.
"Calm down. I could do a locator spell but I'd need an experienced magic practitioner to help me with..."
"AMY!" Buffy shouted sprinting from the library
"Keep going" Buffy reached around Jonathon from the pillion position and seized his hand, forcing him to rev the accelerator of his Moped to maximum. They crashed through the warehouse door, flooding it with daylight, dusting two vamps instantly...
"Thanks" Larry looked at the piles of dust on the warehouse floor as Buffy cut him free of his bonds. Jonathon was ady hdy helping a dishevelled but otherwise unhurt Harmony walk to the shattered door. "Look, no kidding, they were vampires, right?"
She sat by herself at the school cafeteria table, alone as always, thinking of the past, when she never wanted for company. But they were dead and gone, she only saw them now on patrol, in the still of the night. She was alone. It was as it was meant to be.
She suddenly became aware there were five figures clustered around her. Each bore a tray, piled high with food.
"Mind if we join you?" Wesley asked.
Buffy's nod was pure reflex. As they sat down beside her, she realised she'd never actually taken time to consider if this was the correct course of action.
Amy commented on Harmony's hair. Jonathon and Larry started talking about sports. Wes read The Times and pretended not to listen.
But deciding to re-open her heart once more was something she never regretted.
See!?
Ok, I think that's all the points pretty well addressed and I'll be adding this to Goolecap fights with his critics. weird but I rather enjoy fighting with them, even more than praise
