Timeframe: Sometime in season 7ish cept I haven't seen it so it probably bears absolutely no resemblance oh well

"To help you remember." She fingers the card delicately, tracing her fingers over the scrawl of handwriting decorating it.
Like a woman possessed, she stepped out of her door and walked as if in a trance.
She felt so strange, she couldn't think, all she knows is, this is real.

She walked up to Xander's front door. Something told her he wasn't in, so she knocked.
Spike answers the door.
"I...I remember..." she whispers, looking at her feet.
"Come in pet," he answers, his voice low and cracked.
So he takes her arm and in they go.

"I loved the roses," she began, sitting on his bed. "Thank you."
"It was nothing," he smiled at her.
"Listen to me, I need to get this out. Last night was a *wonderful* dream, but dream was all it was. A dream. I never wanted to stop but it was only a dream."
"I understand, luv. I just wanted you to have one good dream. One good memory of us."
She looks at him. Smiling through her tears. "Did I say I was finished?"
She leans over and kisses him, with fire, beauty, truth and power, one heart beating fast enough for two.
"Spike, can we dream forever?"

Just what I like to see, a happy ending. Isn't it funny what a dream can do?
The moral of the story is, kids, follow your heart, because I have far too much fucking work to do.
Not that I didn't enjoy my job this time.
