I don't own Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It belongs to Joss and his lackeys. I do NOT get paid for writing this. This Is Simply My Own Wishful Thinking.!
Buffy
Buffy was rather impatient at the moment as she waited for her sister to get home. Dawn had said she would be home by dinner but Buffy couldn’t shake the feeling she had. Something was about to happen and she couldn’t figure out what, good or bad, she didn’t know; she could only feel it was looming. The Slayer just wanted to know her sister was alright.
Angel, she thought for a moment, had found her here he had searched her out, she loved Angel she knew. But for some reason she wasn’t enjoying herself with him, so she kept him at bay, something she had never thought she would do. Buffy could hardly admit to herself let alone anyone else as to why. Spike had ruined her.
She’d only realized it recently, but it was something Buffy had noticed. Spike could be soft, he could be gentle, he had proved that the last night she’d spent with him as well as the days leading up to the Final Battle. But he could be rough, controlling, and take her to heights that no one before or since had been able to manage. Not that she’d been with men since, just one man and that hadn’t lasted long. Buffy needed the balace, the Slayer needed that control to be taken from her at times.
Angel couldn’t, nay he wouldn’t take control or be rough, not that she had given him the chance to show it. Somehow she just knew that even if he would, it wouldn’t be enough. Like how her dreaming of the bleach blonde vampire made her realize, made her just know. She needed a man wiling like Spike.
Suddenly finding herself glad Dawn hadn’t shown up yet Buffy curled up on the couch. It wasn’t like she missed the vampire, she was just dreaming about him after all. But here, now, she could indulge in her thoughts, her memories, her dreams, and wondering what it would be like if Spike had searched her out instead of Angel. Buffy knew it wouldn’t happen though, from what Angel had told them Spike was probably off on some trip around the world or looking for a good fight; it was just like him.
It wasn’t like Buffy could blame him for not searching. She didn’t, not with the way he felt for her and – Who was she kidding?! She had enjoyed those last couple months, especially the last few days with Spike, she hadn’t just taken what he gave her, she had given back to him as well. Did he wonder just as she did as to why she had been willing? Why it had been so easy? Why hadn’t he searched her out? Hadn’t she made it clear how she felt about him? Sighing Buffy pushed herself off the couch. She was just going to start dinner; Dawn could preheat it when she got home.
^_^
Dawn was excited, he had been looking for them, even if he’d gotten near to giving up, it still meant something. “So how do you two know each other?” She asked finally, he’d given her the story, but he hadn’t told her how he ended up here. Just that he had been in Colorado, ran into Rabekuh, and Rabekuh told him they were here, offering to bring him home with her.
“I was wondering the same thing.” Spike said it slowly looking between the two women, Rabekuh didn’t indulge in telling people who she was he knew. Thus how she had gotten Dawn to bring her blood so easily was something he had to question. Dawn seemed so at ease with the woman as well.
“Oh, she’s our liaison.” Dawn says simply, “Buffy and I helped gather potentials for almost a full year before Buffy decided she was going to step back, let everyone else take care of it and she would just run the operation from private. We met Rabekuh during that time. Now Giles is the only one who knows where we are. Xander and Willow both know how to contact us. But we meet them all over or just go to where they are to see each other. Otherwise, Rabekuh does the traveling and meeting with people.”
Dawn paused looking between the two a moment before what seemed to be a light bulb went off, “Oh, did you two meet that way? Were you the informant she went to see? Or did you know him?”
“Spike saved my life a few years back.” Rabekuh speaks up quietly, “We kept in touch because of my knowledge and understanding. I’ve helped him here and there. But I didn’t know he was in Colorado, it was a chance meeting.” Spike scoffed at that, bullocks it was chance, he knew very well she’d orchestrated it, making it seem like she hadn’t for once. Trying to trick him into thinking it was just a coincidence.
“Right, now that my story is out of the way. Why don’t you tell more of your’s. What were you and Buffy doing in Rome? Why was she dating the Immortal?”
The last thing Spike had expected was Dawn to start laughing, “I remember Angel told us about that. Jonathan is responsible. He’s suppose to keep Demons scents off us, make it where they are looking in the wrong place. It’s worked, Angel said it was only chance he found us here. He was taking a break himself, hiding out, and smelled Buffy somewhere.”
Spike nodded he’d expected something of the sort, after having calmed down and really focused the vampire had realized he hadn’t smelt Buffy or the nibblet at that place. It made perfect sense as she answered, other Demons wouldn’t know the scent of the slayer, only the look. “Oh! Look at the time. Dawn shouldn’t you be getting home? Dinner and all that.”
The brunette started suddenly, “Oh. Oh yes, Buffy usually has dinner ready early,” she wasn’t sure how the time had gone by, but it was already that time, Dawn wasn’t going to be late, but if she’d stayed much longer she would have been. “You should come over, after sunset. Buffy will be delighted to see you.” Hugging Spike tightly as she spoke Dawn turned to give the other woman a quick hug before quickly leaving.
“They don’t know.” Spike followed her into the kitchen after the statement, only then willing to pull his eyes away from the door.
“Do they need to?”
“The Slayer likes to know who her friends are, she doesn’t enjoy secrets.”
“This one isn’t going to hurt her, besides, the Power That Be. Remember? Every one of you has only had dealings with the Liaisons, following the guide that led away from me and my counterpart. It’s to keep us safe, do you really think people need to know we live in human bodies to make us more compassionate towards them, more easy and understanding in choosing their way.” As she spoke she moved about the kitchen, heating up some blood for him, blood which she had apparently put in the fridge during Dawns visit.
Spike had to think on it for a few moments, but he had to frce his mind away from the questions. She wasn’t one to be forth coming thus he knew she wouldn’t answer any unless she wanted to. Instead he actually stayed quiet, drinking his blood as she made her own food. “Will you be going with me? To Buffy’s , I mean.”
“Of course, someone has to keep Angel distracted while you have that long awaited talk.”
^_^
“So I told them to come over later.” Dawn informed her sister. She hadn’t told her who Rabekuh’s friend was. Just that she had brought one home with her and he was really great, having stressed the really part.
“You did what? Dawn you shouldn’t be inviting people over without my permission. You know we have to –“
“Don’t worry Buffy. I’m not an idiot. There is no way he would try and kill you or me.”
Buffy couldn’t stop the curious look at her sister’s words and onfidence in them. “Okay, so when did they say they would come by?”
Dawn had been prepared to answer when there was a prompt knock on the door. Shooting her younger sister a firm look Buffy stood giving strict instructions that the brunette do the dishes and put away the left overs.
The look on the Slayer’s face was priceless when she opened the door and Spike couldn’t help the smile on his face, “’Lo Buffy.”
“Was it not them Buffy?” Dawn asked quickly moving to the door when she heard it slam.
“Spike.” The tone was somewhere between shocked and accusing.
“I know isn’t it – Wait. Where is he?” Pausing Dawn looked around asking the final part, a little confused.
“You knew? This was your spurise?” Dawn –“
Dawn had moved forward to open the door once more, Spike arching his scarred eyebrow. “Thanks bit.” The vampire directed towards the younger woman once the door was opened once more, Dawn having cut off her sister with an invite for the bleach blonde. “A fine hello as always love,” Pausing he seemed to think for a moment before curling his tongue in front of his teeth with that grin on his face that Buffy knew so well. “Though as I recall you like to kiss for your how-de-dos.”
“It’s been over three years since I last saw you. If you had thought to see me soon after regaining your unlife I might have been more forgiving. Now –“
“Hold on there pet.” Stepping forward he put a finger to her lips. “There is a reason I wasn’t here sooner. After all you made it hard to find you.” She couldn’t argue that and he saw it. “Why don’t we sit down and talk. There is a lot to tell.”
“Spike,” it was suppose to be said as a warning but he had his hand caressing her face and Buffy couldn’t help but lean into it. “Alright,” she conceded after a few moments.
"We’ll talk. You,” she adds directing a hard glare at her sister. “Are going to clean up dinner.”
