Micro-chips and dip

Micro-chips and dip
William the Bloody, better known as Spike, sat calmly in his favorite chair in front of the tv. He gingerly sipped at the warm blood in his mug. He would pause periodically to crumble bits of crackers into it. Said it gave the blood texture. He barely held back the smile that threatened to show itself on his face when he thought of how Buffy’s nose had wrinkled when he said that. Then that happy feeling turned to anger. Why did he smile when he thought of her? “Love.” A part of his mind whispered to him. “Please,” he mumbled aloud, “This love thing is not what I want to be a part of.”
He glanced to the one window of his crypt, well it wasn’t a window more of a whole in the cold stone wall. It was nearly nightfall, and any self-respecting vampire with even a lick of sense should know that when it’s night time it’s hunting time. But not for him, he didn’t even consider himself a “self-respecting vampire”. Ever since he got that chip put in his head from those bloody “Initiative” boys. There was a deep scowl etched onto his defined features now. They would all make fun of him, all the vampires even the group of humans he so often found himself regulating with. “To hell with them.” He thought.
“It’s almost nightfall,” an all to familiar voice said.
Except her.
Spike had to lower his head and look away to hide the smile on his face. He didn’t look up until he was confident that he could look her in the eyes again.
Even as Spike looked away she continued to speak. “Shouldn’t you be clawin’ at the door by now beggin your master to let you out?”
Spike took advantage of her comment, “Are you my master then, love?”
“No.” she answered firmly. She was trying so hard not to want him, and it was so obvious on her face.
“Fine.” Spike said with a slight lowering of his head. “Whatever you say.” He stood and began to walk towards her slowly as he spoke, “So, to what reason do I thank for sending me this visit from you?” he asked, his voice low, suggestive, and sexy enough to make any normal girl’s knees buckle. But Spike knew Buffy was no normal girl. As Spike neared her she stood her ground, only looked up into his eyes watching him as if to make sure he didn’t cross some invisible line she’d put up. Spike knew exactly where that line was and stood directly on it.
“Info.” She said. “I’m here to pump you for it.” She seemed to realize the way that sounded before he smirked and hurried to try and rephrase but it was to late.
“That all you here to pump me for, pet?” he asked and crossed that line, only by a step but he still crossed it.
“Yes.” She said insistently, “No.” this time with a little less control. To tell the truth she just wanted for him to hold her, but business first. She groaned ,completely frustrated. “Ugh! Did you happen to hear about that attack in the park last night?”
Spike tried to not act entirely crushed when he verified that it was just a business meeting, “Uh… yeah, they interrupted Young and the Restless for it.”
“I can only imagine your anger.” Buffy retorted with a roll of her eyes.
Spike continued on like he hadn’t heard her, “You think it’s vampiric and you’re here to see if I know anything about it.”
“Well, yes and no.” Buffy said.
Spike gave her that look.
“I’m here to see if you had anything to do with it.” She corrected.
Spike gave her a whole other look. “Try that again.”
“The survivor of the attack described you down to a tee.” Buffy explained. “I mean, she coulda said what underwear you had on.”
“First of all you of all people should know. It is a very rare thing that I’ll even wear underwear.” “Always ready to go at it with you.” He wanted to add but tried so hard not to. She would have gotten mad and left and that’s the one thing he didn’t want her to do. Leave. Instead he stood silent and watched her give him the most serious look she could muster at short notice. He shrugged his brows and continued, “Besides you know I have this sodding chip in my head.”
Buffy didn’t want to admit that she had actually forgotten about that little implant. She tried to play it off, but she honestly hadn’t thought about it. She saw him as a regular vampire now that he could hurt her again, and that scared her. “Hm, but I- it never hurts to ask.” She said.
“True, but it feels a little better to know, huh pet.”
She wanted to tell him not to call her that, but while some part of her hated it the other part loved it. Loved the way his voice sounded when he said it, loved the way his lips formed it. “Why do you do that?” she asked before she even really registered she had spoken in that soft voice that she never really liked to use, especially with him.
“Do what?” he asked, knowing full well what she meant.
“Never mind.” She said, “Forget it.”
“Okay, pet,” he said, “Consider it forgotten.”
“Good.” She nodded, “So do you know of any vampires who…” she trailed off trying to figure how to word this.
“Looks like me?” Spike finished for her.
“Yeah, okay.”
“Not unless I look in a mir-“ he caught himself with a smile, “No I haven’t but if I see any extremely sexy blond vampires I’ll let you know okay.” He had that smirk on his face again and it made Buffy really mad, and at the same time she found it sort of hot at the same time. She gave him a very-funny look turned to leave, she halted at the door.
“Watch yourself.” She said then disappeared into the sunset.
“I’d rather watch you.” He whispered after her retreating form.
