Chapter 4
“Now,” I said, exposing the claws of my right hand as my left held the demon up off the ground by its throat, “tell me where I can find this Slayer person and I may just let you live to see another pathetic day.”
The creature trembled. “I don’t know much about her other than she kills demons and vampires with her friends, it’s her job.” He croaked out.
“Not very informative… how sad.” I replied with a fake tone of sadness as I reared back my hand to strike.
“Wait! Willie may be able to tell you more. That two-timing weasel knows everything about anything supernatural if it happens here on the Hellmouth.”
I paused. “Where can I find this man?” I asked and the demon eagerly informed me. “Thank you, you have been such a help.” I said lowering him back onto the ground and retracting the claws of my right hand. “But I cannot risk letting you go and telling others about my presence.”
“No I swear-” he began but never finished as the dagger-like claws on the hand that was around his neck emerged and I effortlessly sliced open his throat like a warm knife gliding through butter. I stepped back from his slumping and mouth-gaping form as the blood pooled around his body.
“Thanks for all the help.” I said as I left the corpse in the alley and made my way to this Willie character’s bar; it wasn’t too difficult to find after all. I walked in and my feral eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness of the establishment, there was a silence in the room as I stood there in front of the doorway. Demons looked at me bewildered, and who could blame them. “I am looking for Willie.” I stated matter-of-factly; laughter arose. A young male vampire came up behind me in an attempt to obtain a feel of my body, but he was quickly dangling from the air as I held him by his throat in a vice-grip.
“Now that was not a very smart thing to do fledgling was it? Time to say you are sorry.” I said in a pseudo-scolding.
“I-” he managed to get out before I had placed my other hand on one of his shoulders and separated his head from his body, dropping both as they disintegrated into dust at my feet. I dusted off my hands daintily and looked at the stunned faces around the place.
“Now, I shall ask one more time before I get really upset: where is Willie?” Every last one of the demons in the joint pointed towards a mousey-looking human who was cowering behind the bar. I smiled to myself as I sauntered over to the bar, loving as the man sunk further and further back into the wall, trying vainly to disappear. I sat on a bar stool, crossing my caramel-colored legs and leaning forward onto my elbows, crooking my finger at him and giving him my most seductive smile. He tentatively approached me, enthralled and submissive.
“I-i-is there anything I can help you with Miss?” he asked stammering on his words. I reached out to his face, letting a finger softly caress the side of it, trailing and ever so slightly pressing my nail into his flesh, mingling pleasure with pain in my touch as he shuddered involuntarily in both.
“Yes, I believe you can Willie. See, someone told me that you were the person to ask about supernatural information in this town. Now, what can you tell me about the Slayer?” His face drained of all color at the mention of that name.
“I-I-I-I-I,” he stammered uncontrollably, as he began to reek of terror. “I’m sorry I can’t tell you anything about her.” He finally got out.
“Really? Hmm, now that is a problem Willie because now you have upset me.” I said, as I entwined my fingers into his hair, yanking his head back forcefully. “And you do not want me upset now do you?” I said through gritted teeth, changing and partially morphing as I held onto him. My canines elongated into deadly fangs, my other teeth morphed into sharpened ends while my face and body sprouted jet black fur and a long slender black furred tail; I grew a foot and a half in height, my nose and mouth merged and turned into a muzzle while my eyes turned to amber slits.
“N-n-n-n-no, no, not at all Miss it’s just, well, if she or any of her gang ever found out that I was the one to tell you such classified information, well…she’d kill me.” He squeaked out.
“Interesting predicament you are in then is it not Willie?” I asked rhetorically, my pronunciation being a bit different now that my face had morphed.
“Wh-wh-what is?”
“Well if you tell me now, and later on down the road the Slayer finds out, she will kill you; but if you do not tell me now, I shall eventually find out anyways and I will kill you right now. So, what is it going to be Willie?” I asked as I traced a claw firmly down his jugular drawing a pinpoint trail of blood, he gulped.
“Okay, fair enough.” He said as I smiled.
“Or what about his third option?” an English accented voice said behind me, I turned my head around angrily to see who it was who interrupted me and was met with a hard punch to my jaw which forced me to let go of Willie. “Me.”
I glared up from the floor into the blue eyes of a very blonde male vampire, but this one didn’t smell like a fledgling as the other had, in fact, he smelled of age. Nonetheless, I was angry as I touched the corner of my mouth with my rough tongue and tasted my own blood where my fangs had cut into my skin. I growled low and deep in my chest as I stood up slowly. “Fool.” I growled out as my gaze turned golden and I felt my strength and anger boil up to the surface; I launched myself at the vampire at a speed that surprised him greatly.
We engaged in a fight and it was one I was quite impressed with actually. It had been a long time since I had met anyone, mortal or demon, who could challenge me in a battle. Although he never landed another blow that physically connected with my body, it wasn’t because he didn’t try; I just had years of experience and a hell of a lot more power than he did. Our fight landed us outside of the bar where I had forcefully thrown him, his body slamming into a brick wall before hitting the ground. To my surprise and amazement he was attempting to get up from the ground and I had to credit him with determination and bravery, but I was soon sitting atop his chest, making him immobile and his preternatural strength was no match for my own.
“Why did you interfere vampire?” I growled angrily. “Had you not done so I would have obtained the information I needed about this Slayer girl and been on my merry way. Perhaps I would have killed and mangled a demon or two for fun, but that is beside the point. Now tell me why you hit me.” I demanded.
“I’m not telling you shit.” He said, spitting blood from his mouth into my face.
“Fine.” I retorted as I forcefully squeezed my thighs together putting pressure onto a rib of his I had previously broken. He roared out in pain and I commenced to bash him around a bit longer until he no longer struggled or put up a fight. True, I could have killed him, but I figured he deserved to live; he had given me a good fight after all. I got up from off of his unconscious body and turned around to see that the customers from inside had come out to watch. “Now, one of you can provide me the information I desire,” I began as I smoothed my fur, “or you can end up like either of the two vamps I dealt with tonight. Which shall it be?” Needless to say, I found some very eager and willing informants.
