Notes: To Todd, this little quickie chapter is for you babe.
Angel had been back in his reality for a week and he thought he was going crazy. It was late and he was in the hotel alone, brooding.
How could a few days in another world change his view so drastically? Everything seemed different now. he ohe other world all his friends had worked the night shift but now if he wanted human contact he had to be awake during the day. Even Darla and Lindsey had changed their sleeping schedules to meet his while they were visiting.
He missed them. He missed Doyle and Jay, Spike and Dru, even Whistler. And Venus. God, Venus. He missed her so much. The whole time she had known he wasn't what he appeared yet she had given him everything she had. Her mind, her body, and maybe even her heart.
The two worlds were so different and yet so the same. That's when it hit him. Maybe if the other world had a Darla, and a Spike, and a Buffy, maybe his world had a Venus and a Jay. He went to the computer and got to work.
While he was in the other world Whistler had told him more about the two girls. They had grown up in a small town in Nevada. Jay was a year younger than Venus but they had graduated highschool together. For as immature and reckless as the petite brunette acted you would never guess she had an IQ higher than Giles. Jay had gotten excepted into an east coast college and even though Venus had had plenty of good offers elsewhere she decided to go with Jay so she wouldn't be seperated from her best friend. First the girls had gone on a road trip, starting in Washington then working their way down the west coast then across the country.
Using a few tricks Willow and Doyle had taught him Angel began an internet search for the girls hoping he could find some record of either of them in Nevada. An few hours later he had found something. A newspaper article about two years old. He printed out the page and sat there reading the first two paragraphs over and over.
SAN DIEGO- Last Friday the bodies of Jayme Krista Johns, 16, Daniel Long, 18, and Emily Venus O'Shay ,17, were found on Shylar Street, mere blocks from the world famos San Diego Zoo. The Nevada natives were vacationing when they were apparently attacked by a wild animal. All three teens sustained massive tearing to the neck and shoulders. Zoo staff remains adamant in their statements that no animals have escaped the zoo. Police began looking into possible occult connections when the coroner announced all three bodies were drained of blood.
This bizarre tragedy took another turn when it was announced yesterday that the bodies of the three teenagers had disappeared from the County Mo. Th. The premises were searched and no disturbances were found and the guards on duty that night reported no unusual occuarances, the supervising guard commented, "I just don't understand it. The men and women who work for me are good, honest, attentive people. They always do their rounds as scheduled and always have their eyes and ears open. We had some trouble a few years back with kids sneaking inside at night, the city has put alot of money into making sure the morgue is almost impossible to get into. It's almost as if the bodies just got up and walked out on their own."
