Chapter 4: Responsibility
A few days later …
"Oh God, Spike, what are you doin' down there? That feels so incredibly good… unhhh….ahhh…SPIIIIKE!"
he sat straight up in his own bed sweat dripping from every pore of his body.
"Bloody Hell!" he muttered "that was the fourth fucking dream about her the fourth fucking night in
a fucking row. I can't believe it, I can't even remember when I got so hot for a girl the last time."
He got up strolled into the little kitchen started the coffee maker and got some orange juice out
of the fridge. After a few long gulps and letting the empty carton stay on the kitchen table he
got into the bathroom for a shower.
After getting the right temperature he finally got under the spray and recognized his still very prominent
erection. "Okay my friend, you know the drill. Go down by yourself or I'll make you." He told his "best"
friend. Two minutes later he stood in the shower the original purpose lost to his mind. The only thing
important right at that moment was a sexy little Blonde who he couldn't get of his mind. So Spike stroked
himself into oblivion all the while talking dirty as if she were with him and every now and then moaning
Buffy's name. He came with a roar and her name on his lips as thick spurts of cum left his body and found
themselves down the showers drain.
After returning from the momentary pure bliss and washing up Spike left the shower to put a towel around his waist
before leaving the bathroom still dripping from the water. He took out his favourite cup from the cupboard and
filled it with black gold, formerly known as coffee. Sitting down at his computer desk, he opened his file with
his To-Do-List he made up over the last days. How to get the car, where to find a place where he could tune it
up by himself without getting disturbed to much and so on. After pressing the right keys, the printer came to
life and gave Spike what he wanted.
Strolling over to his couch he turned on the TV to listen to the morning news in the background, all the while still
mulling over a few things in his list. Especially how to convince his father to lend him the money for his new
ride. He had the money for the required tuning utilities and parts but the retail of the car itself, which was
a bit necessary he thought to himself grimacing, now stood at a garage downtown. That is, if she hadn't sold it yet.
"Oh no, not again. Get out of my head. I have to think clearly and I can't bloody well do that with pictures of you
on my mind. So please, would you leave me alone?" he whined to no one but himself while realizing, that his cock
got rock-hard again.
He willed it down this time and got up to get dressed. He got more important tasks at hand right at this moment so
he wasn't up for round two. After dressing he left his apartment to the bookstore below to talk to his father
about him lending him money.
Same time, but downtown L.A. …
"Ung… ohh yeah, Spike, please let me come, I need it, ahhh SPIKE!" she bolted up in her bed sweaty and panting in
harsh breaths.
"Oh my god, I can't believe this, I can't stop dreaming about him." It was the fourth night in a row and the dreams
about one definitely eatable peroxide blonde hottie kept haunting her. Suddenly she realised that she was dripping
wet and for a moment she thought about finishing the job herself. She shrugged it off and got up to get showered.
The friction caused by her satin pyjama pants on her clit made her moan loudly and the wave of arousal that hit
her was nearly unbearable.
She fell back onto her bad and began to push her hand beneath her pjs. *Okay but just a little bit and only because
I hadn't had it any good the last months* she apologized to herself, all the while rubbing her clit until she
felt that familiar tingle inside her womb. Inserting two fingers into her hot and dripping wet pussy she moaned
loudly not realizing it was his name. *Oh yeah, that's good, I'm so close…*
"Hey Buffy who are you talking to?" Dawn asked while knocking on Buffy's bedroom door.
Buffy froze. *Damn it, does she ever has to destroy the good moments, I can't believe it, I was so close*.
"Nobody, just talking to myself" Buffy stuttered "I was just on my way to the shower" a bit steadier this time.
"Yeah, okay" Dawn drawled "I just wanted to tell you that I'm off to school and afterwards over at Janice's. We have
a school project to finish so it will be late till I get home tonight."
"Okay Dawn, I won't be early too, I have to finish a Honda Civic and to deliver it to its owner. And Dawn "Buffy said
in a warning tone "no races against school buddies, your car is much too fast and you know it wouldn't be fair.
And you drive carefully, do you hear me?"
"Yeah, yeah whatever you say Goddess of the street racers" Dawn murmured.
"Thanks sweetie, see ya tonight, have a good day" Buffy said through the still closed bedroom door.
"Yeah you too" she heard Dawn's voice become silent so she knew she was gone.
For a moment she contemplated returning to her "task at hand" but left her bedroom directly for the shower. There
was much work to do and she wanted to get it over with.
Uptown L.A. some time later…
"Excuse me, you did what?" Rupert Giles asked his son while taking his glasses from his nose vigorously polishing them.
"Like I said about 5 bleeding times be, Ie, I lost my car in a street race. So I need to get a new car, to get my
one back or at least the money it was worth" Spike sighed into his fathers direction.
"Are you out of your bloody mind?" the elder Giles suddenly yelled at Spike. "You know that it's not only illegal
but also incredibly dangerous to race on the streets? I can't believe how stupid you are. I thought I raised
you right, with a well-seated feeling for responsibility!"
"Hey, I am not out of my bleeding mind, and I didn't race "out on the streets". It was at an old airbase with no
one around for about 4 miles. And no, I am not stupid, I just know what I want, and that's racing. And I have
a bleeding feeling for responsibility, I just asked. I didn't force you to give me money. I just thought
perhaps you could help me out." Spike replied.
"Ah okay, at least you thought about it. And how much would that favour cost me?" his father asked with false sincerity
"About 35,000 dollars" Spike answered, missing the mocking tone in his father's stern voice.
"I can't do that Spike. And not only because I love you too much to support your idiot plan of street racing or
because I already have lost your mother. I just don't have the money Spike. Perhaps this will teach you to
treat your possessions in a proper way."
"Yeah bloody thanks so far" Spike spat and stood up. "I will find a way and will get through with my "idiot plan",
that's a promise. And you especially know how "proper" my way with my promises is" he mocked his father's stern
voice and left the kitchen fuming.
"Oh good Lord, what have I done to deserve this…" Giles muttered into his cup of tea.
Downtown L.A. Garage of Buffy Summers Racing…
"Xander stop eating that donut and get your ass over here, NOW! I need you to help get that stupid intercooler
into that damn stupid ride the right way" Buffy's yell bounced of the walls of the garage.
"Juft a momen.." he replied mouth full.
"I said, NOW!!!" she yelled even louder and Xander nearly got choked on his jelly donut. He left the coffee
bench and went over to where Buffy was still lying under a Honda Civic. "Hey what's with the bad mood, Buffster?
Sleep bad?" he asked smiling.
"For your information my beloved friend… yeah I didn't sleep well, the owner of that stupid car is coming by
in about 2 hours and I still have to mount that damn intercooler, the new turbo and have to test drive it
afterwards to check if it's set up correctly. So if you please would stop stuffing food into yourself and
instead help me with that car I could perhaps forget that right now at this particular moment I want your
dangling bits as a decoration for my rear view mirror." Buffy told him in a much too quiet voice.
Xander new that anymore talking would end up in severe damage to his body so he just grabbed the needed tools
and helped Buffy with her task.
A few minutes later somebody leaned over the car Buffy was lying under blocking out the light she needed to
finish her job.
"Xander I said get lost after the third time you dropped that damn screwdriver onto my head. Do I have to remind
you about what I said about your dangling bits minutes ago?" Buffy said annoyed.
"Well as far as I'm glad that I'm not Xander right at the moment I must say you made me quite curious. What did
you tell him about his dangling bits, Buffy? Detective Riley Finn asked in an amused voice.
"Riley what do you want?"
"Well there are a few things that I want but you know that. How about a cup of coffee anytime soon? No?
Okay back to business. That BMW M3 you got over there, where did you get it?"
"I don't know why this should be any concern of yours?" she spat.
"Well it is my concern because of the fact that you don't normally have such a "lame" car around and that
it looks a little too hot to be legal" Riley drawled.
"Tell me Riley, since I broke up with you, don't you get laid in about …uhm ….ever? Because I seem to believe
that you get off on going on my nerves whenever it's possible." Buffy told him in a dangerous low voice.
"Buffy you know I have to protect the law and so I have to check anything dubious. So just tell me who's car
that is and I'm out of your face" he told her with his damn Iowa smile right in place.
"It's the car of my new mechanic" she answered flatly.
"Aha, and where is that "new mechanic"?" Riley drawled.
"Got the day off, had to finish his papers so he could work for me."
"And you don't happen to know where he lives so I could ask him about that car myself?"
"Nope as I said I will get my papers the next time he comes by. By the way if that's everything please
leave my garage because I have a lot of work to do and even if I wanted to lie I couldn't tell you
it was nice talking to you. Have a nice day and goodbye, Riley" she told him determined and walked
to the other side of her garage to finish the Honda Civic.
"I'll be watching you Buffy" Riley told her cheerily as he left the garage.
"That's not watching, it's called stalking" Buffy muttered under her breath all the while contemplating
how to fix the problem with that damn car.
Suddenly a thought hit her mind and she called for Willow and Xander. "Guys listen up, I have to go and
fix a little problem. So please finish that Civic and bring it to its owner. I don't know when I'll
be back so don't wait for me" she told her two co-workers who where staring blankly at her.
"Wait, wait, wait Buffy… what are you doing? Where is the problem?" Willow asked.
"The problem is, Riley has just been here and wanted to bend me over the hood of that damn BMW that
looked slightly "hot" to him."
"Okay, that's terrible and so not the picture I need. But I don't understand what you want to do about
it now." Willow stuttered.
"The thing is, I told Riley, that this car belongs to my new mechanic, that obviously does not exist, so
I will go out and find the mechanic that matches the name on the papers of that stupid German car."
"What?" Willow and Xander yelled.
"You must be kidding" he kept on ranting.
"Buffy, are you sure you want to employ a total stranger? How do you know that he isn't playing along
with Riley and tricked you with that car from the beginning?" Willow asked a little calmer now.
"I don't know it but I am going to find out. Also I know when I see a raw diamond when it comes to
driving and my "Spidey" sense was kicked into overdrive when I met him. You know I never am wrong."
She told Willow who seemed to think about what Buffy just said.
"Buffy you have a responsibility. You can't just go out and hire anyone just because you believe he could
be a good driver. What about us, the garage or even more important Dawn? I don't think you want something
bad to happen to her or anyone or anything else, just because you had to follow your feelings."
Xander couldn't calm down.
"I do so know my responsibilitiandeander, don't you dare question me about it. Why do you think would I
go out and hire someone I don't even no as long as a TV series episode? Because if Riley wants to knock
on me, and we know he wants, and we know he will succeed if I'm not very careful, they will take her
away from me and I will go to jail. You know it Xander. Probably better than anyone else ever will"
Buffy spat in an angry voice, rubbing her eyes to keep the tears from falling.
"Sorry Buffy and yes I know it but I can't seem to be happy with what you're about to do. Bringing another
element into the family makes it more difficult to be special, to be safe and secured."
"I know Xander but please believe me, I have to be fast and that's the only possibility I can think of right now."
"You're the boss" Xander half-smiled at her and patted her back before he left for the Civic.
"I believe in you feelings. Let's all hope for the best" Willow told her sincerely before she left
in the same direction Xander went moments ago.
One hour later uptown L.A. …
Buffy parked her Skyline in front of the "Book's Resort" stepped out and wondered if she got the right address.
Looking into her purse for the little note where she had scribbled down Spike's address she found that
the address was correct. Okay so she was going to ask in the shop she thought.
She entered the store and the little bell above the door announced her to everyone who wanted to know. She
leisurely strolled over to the counter and rung the little bell that said "Ring for service".
After two rings a friendly looking man in his early fifties came from behind one of the book shelves.
"How may I help you miss?" he asked her politely his British accent not missing.
"Hello, sorry I'm searching someone who should liveer ter this address, so I wanted to ask if you know who
lived here before and perhaps to where he moved" she asked nervously.
"Well, if you could tell me the name I could possibly help you, but I think as far as I'm concerned this
store has never been anything else" Giles answered her.
"The name is William Giles, also goes with the name Spike" Buffy told him.
"Well, it seems that you are lucky because I seem to know a William Giles. May I ask what you're
business is with him?" Giles asked.
"He's a friend of mine and I need to talk to him, please" Buffy lied.
"Well, I'll call him and hopefully he will be polite enough to come down. He's my son, by the way!"
Giles smiled at her.
Buffy grinned back and was happy that as far as now everything went smooth.
Just one more step and her problem was solved.
A couple of minutes later the door behind the counter opened and Spike in all his peroxide glory stepped out.
Dressed completely in black he looked around for his father.
"Hey Dad, where are you? What's up?" Spike yelled through the store.
"Ah, William the nice young lady over there wanted to talk to you, that's why I called you" Giles told him.
Spike turned his head and saw her smiling at him. He couldn't believe it, what was her problem? Didn't
crashing him out on the street give her kicks enough?
"Hi Spike" Buffy greeted light-heartedly.
"What's up, luv?" he asked wearily
"All business I see, as ever" she mocked him.
"See, if you just came here to make fun of me, the show is over…" Spike began.
"No, no wait" she broke him off " I have an offer to make…"
Spike looked deep into her eyes searching for the truth behind her words.
As he couldn't seem to find any sign of irony or lying he asked: "And what could you offer to me?"
"Wanna take a ride?"
