Visionary Kiss II Part 31
Ten feet off the ground, the spirits swirled around Imhotep's body, twisting it, turning it and slowly shrivelling it.
Accompanied by the same strange flashing light they all watched what happened to him, only Willow knowing that this was exactly the same thing that had happened to Anck-su-namun as she had been cursed.
There was one last huge flash, accompanied by a blast of wind, and Imhotep was spit out and thrown to the floor.
He staggered to his feet, looking perfectly normal.
His body completely intact.
Rick swung his sword, Imhotep jerked back. The sword scraped Imhotep's chest, a swath of blood appeared across his chest where the sword had hit him.
The High Priest touched the blood on his chest, amazed and horrified.
He was mortal.
His eyes turned away from the blood and find, deep green orbs that glittered with tears.
Opening his mouth to say something, Imhotep was stopped as O'Connell ran him through with the sword, shoving him backwards; the High priest stumbled back and fell into the detritus bog. The sword still in his stomach, a steady flow of blood coming from the wound.
Evelyn and Jonathan slowly moved over to Rick, all three standing at the Edge, they watched as Imhotep gently sunk into the fetid swamp, slowly dying.
And then, just before his head vanished, Imhotep looked up at them, grinning broadly, saying something in ancient Egyptian.
"Death is only the beginning." Willow said.
STAFF CHAMBER - DAY
Staggering across a chamber, strained under the weight of another bad filled with treasures, Beni spotted a large, ornate staff sticking out of a wall.
He threw the saddlebag over the staff, collapsing against the wall, exhausted.
A beat and then the weight of the treasure pulled the staff down.
That started a massive aural chain-reaction.
The small man backed away from the wall, wide-eyed, filled with fear, as the walls started to sink into the ground, driven by tons of pouring sand.
He turned and stormed as fast as possible out of the chamber.
CEMETERY - DAY
The small group of people watched as all the walls started to descend. All eyes turned towards Willow, wanting to know from her what was going one.
"You get out of here as fast as possible, and I will go and get Ardeth."
Rick was the first that reacted after Willow had vanished in front of them; he grabbed Evey's hand and called, to be heard over Noise.
"C'mon! We need to get out here." He pulled her forward, but Evelyn did not move, " But what will happen to Willow?"
"She knows what she is doing." Jonathan answered, and the three of them started racing past sinking pillars, ducking as they run into a descending doorway.
INT. PASSAGEWAY - DAY
Scampering down a passageway, the ceiling getting lower and lower until he had to crouch, Beni soon had to stick the torch between the teeth cra crawl on his hands and knees.
INT. TREASURE CHAMBER - DAY
Evelyn, Rick and Jonathan crouch -run into the treasure chamber, Evey skid to a stop, looking in wonder at all the treasures.
Sand rained down on them, as Rick grabbed her again and quickly pulled her through the mounds ofasurasures towards a sinking doorway on the far side of the room.
The sound of the sinking walls was deafening.
Beni finally arrived in the chamber, as the others raced past him. He joined them as they ran up a staircase, heading for a descending doorway, which was already half gone.
It was only four feet high now.three ..two feet.
Jonathan was the first that drove through the narrow gap.
Then Rick followed him, to spin around, helping Evey who was stuck in the middle, about to get cut in half.
O'Connell grabbed her arm and yanked her through in the nick of time.
Now Beni reached through the narrowing gap with his hand, "O'CONNELL!!"
Rick grabbed it, but it was already too late, Beni had to yank his hand back, just in time as the top of the door crashed to the floor.
Sealing him in.
The short man crawled back down the stairs as the ceiling slammed down behind him, he stood up and looked around with his diminishing torch.
All the doorways finished closing.
There was no way out.
He was trapped.
As the meaning of it hit him, he heard something and turned around.
Over in the corner, a scarab-beetle stared at him, chittering.
Beni waved his flickering torch at the scarab and backed away.
"Go away!"
He stood in the middle of the treasure chamber as dozens upon dozens of scarabs boiled up out of the floor around him.
He was absolutely terrified, finally all the times the woman with the red hair had told him what would happen came into his mind as he watched the scarabs start moving in.
The torch went out.
Pitch black.
A beat.
Then there was a screaming, a sound of horror and pain, mixed with the hungrily chittering scarabs.
EXT. HAMUNAPTRA - DAY
The temple collapsed as Rick, Evelyn and Jonathan, not to forget a pack of stray camels raced through the ruins. A sinking crevice dropped out right behind them. Chasing them out through the front gates.
The whole place rumbled ominously.
They made it down the ramp as more ruins crashed down behind them. A massive cloud of sand and dust billowing out over the wall and into the air, as the group of people and the stay camels raced out into the desert...
EXT. PLATEALT - DAY
Standing in the middle of the plateau, surrounded by stray camels, they stared off at the sandy, dusty, volcano as it continued to rumble -ominously.
"Well, ...I guess we go home empty handed." Jonathan said, in his eyes unshed tears as he remembered all the things that now were buried under tons of stone and sand.
Rick looked over at Evelyn, smiling he said, "Wouldn't say that."
She returned the look, a short eternity, and then she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, Rick returning it.
Jonathan just rolled his eyes, snorted in disgust and climbed up onto a camel.
When the kiss was over, Rick and Evey shared a smile, then he leaped up into the saddle, reached down and grabbed her hand, pulling her up behind him.
Evelyn wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Do you think Ardeth and Willow made it?" She asked looking back over her shoulder.
"I'm sure they did." Rick stroked her hand, hoping that it was true.
Rick and Jonathan slapped the reins, "TUK-TUK-TUK!!"
The camels started to move out, not aware of the fact that in the saddlebag behind Evey, hidden under the closed back flap, was filled with Beni´s stolen treasures.
"He will be back." Ardeth said knowing that the woman at his side knew who he was talking about. One moment he had been surrounded by copse that wanted to kill him, the next they had vanishnd hnd he had looked up into her reddened face.
This woman had saved him, had helped banish the mummy, the same woman that was now crying silent tears for a monster.
"Yes." She said as she started to walk to the left camels, knowing that the mumia would follow her. "And I will be waiting for him." nd Vnd Visionary Kiss II Part 31
