Lonnie yawned as she set her pack on the dining room table, stretching she turned and watched as Buffy handed Scrat a cup of water. It had been a long journey and she knew they would have a lot to go over with the others in regards to supplies as well as what they had found at the slayer outpost. Walking over to her mate she smiled softly and leaned in and kissed the blonde gently. “I love you Boofay.”
Buffy smiled at the use of Lonnie’s nickname, it was tied to fond memories of when they had originally met in prehistoric Germany. Looking down at Scrat she realized she wasn’t sure what they were going to do with the child when Axel suddenly burst through the door.
“YOUR HOME!” He exclaimed excitedly, pausing a moment before rushing forward and grabbing them both in a hug. His enthusiastic reaction had obviously startled Scrat who was across the room instantly staring at them warily. “Who’s that?” Axel asked.
“His name is Scrat; he is going to be staying with us.” Buffy explained gently, lovingly running her hand through Axel’s unruly hair; she smiled when his eyes grew wide.
“Like a brother?” Axel asked, his mothers looked at each other in amusement. That had been on Axels Christmas list for the last three years. Of all the children he seemed to least affected by the plague. He was rarely home, oftentimes playing with the wolf cubs and other children on the grounds, he took everything in even stride as though day walkers were normal versus there life before. However the fact that this had been a way of life for much of his probably accounted for that.
“That’s up to him. First we need to meet with the other Scoobs and see what the deal is.”
“Mommy something bad happened.” Axel said suddenly, looking serious. Buffy frowned automatically thinking of possible casualties during slays. It HAD been remarkably silent coming onto the grounds.
“Raya and Faith left and Chaye says they aren’t coming back. Horus is pack leader now….oh and Kenny and the blue lady went poof too.” Axel said, knowing he was the first to deliver this information made him feel somewhat grown up.
Dropping down until she was eye level Buffy looked into Axels eyes in a way that made the boy fidget nervously. He was unsure what this all meant and suddenly nervous at the scary looks in mommies eyes. Lonnie backed away and motioned for Scrat to come to her, in a flash the child was at her side, tucked slightly behind her still unsure about the exuberance her son displayed. Suddenly Lonnie felt nervous about how Scrat was going to react to Jaeger or Sheridan…hell ANY of the children. The only shy one in the bunch was Brigitte. “What do you mean they’re gone?” Buffy asked sternly.
Axel shifted nervously, suddenly wishing he knew what to say. “That’s what Aunt Dawn said mommy.”
“Stay here.” Buffy ordered as she moved past him and out the door not bothering to wait on Lonnie. Running across the grounds to her sister’s house she vaulted up the steps and through the door without knocking.
Dawn shrieked and tackled Buffy in a tight hug, they hadn’t heard from Buffy or Lonnie in almost and week and Dawn had worried endlessly much to her husband’s dismay. “Why didn’t you radio us?” Dawn asked, to thankful to tell her the news at the moment.
“Is it true? Faith and Raya? Sasha and Kenny?” They’re gone?” Buffy asked anxiously, if this were true they were down four of their best fighters. And more importantly…family.
Backing away tears brimmed Dawns eyes as she nodded. “Nikos, Sasha’s son, he’s a god or something he says that they went to find a cure for the plague.” Dawn said. Buffy nodded softly.
“What about Faith and Raya? They just left?” Buffy asked. That didn’t make any sense not with the children.
“Raya got infected, the younger ones don’t know. Faith took her away so they wouldn’t…see her change.” Dawn said her grief reemerging.
“Is Faith coming back?” Buffy asked softly. Wordlessly Dawn shook her head no. “Do you know where they are?”
Dawn stammered silently, Horus had told her of course but she had promised…but this was Buffy…
“…..Dawn…where ARE they?” Buffy said her voice growing dangerously hostile.

Kennedy moved carefully across the fields. After Sasha had teased the ever holy hell out of her she decided basically fuck it.
She knew the plan and she was determined to get back to stupid Buffalo and her daughter as soon as physically possible. And if she needed to find blue skinned Sasha that wouldn’t be that difficult. All she had to do first was get into the palace which even from this distance she could see on the horizon.
Slayer powers or not she was still in excellent physical shape from years of training, when she reached the wall protecting Atlantis she took a few reassuring breathes before slipping off her sandals and bending down, rubbing sand into her palms she started her climb. Fucking gods and there demons, sure why not sleep with one and get knocked up….what could that hurt.
The sharp stones pressed painfully into her skin, thankfully she had climbed higher distances than this wall but in this blazing heat she was quickly growing exhausted.
Once she had reached what she guessed was the halfway point she looked up and squinted in the sunlight, gripping tightly she let go with one arm and carefully took a swig of water from eh leather pouch she had stolen. Taking several breathes she started her climb again, wincing as her hands began to bleed and dust stung her eyes.
Nearly an hour later she tiredly pulled herself over the side of the wall and sat on the top, looking from side to side she noticed that stone ladders were carved into the sides and she appeared to be in a residential part of the city. Crawling carefully over the side she began her trek down the stone ladder which proved much easier than the climb up. Her muscles were sore and her body screamed at her relentlessly but overall the climb was much easier.
One thing she knew for sure was that Sasha was going to freaking kill her.

“I’m going to kill her.” Sasha muttered to herself as she stared at the hog-tied demon servant. The demon squeaked fearfully. “Not you.” She spat out.
Walking over to the demon she untied it, careful not to cause undo harm.
Gasping for breath the servant stared up at the tall woman. “Where did she go?”
“She went to the city my lord.” The servant said, not looking Sasha in the eyes.
“Any chance she said where she was headed?” Sasha asked, it didn’t take a genius but she needed anything to figure out a plan.
“She didn’t say her lordship…just that she was going to find the stupid blue smurf and get back to Buffalo if it killed her.”
Chuckling angrily Sasha stood and walked out of the room toward the stables.
