Disclaimer:
I do not own Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BtVS), nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Epilogue: The End
A/N: Initially, I planned to end this with the last chapter and just leave it all hanging, but my sister said she would throttle me if I didn't wrap things up, and I couldn't think of a better way to end all the angst than with some goofy fun, unlike Joss who has to end it with pain and death.
Thank you so much to everyone who's reviewed. You've made it all so much fun to write, and that makes ending this a little easier. I don't know what I should write next, but if anyone has any suggestions, just e-mail me at XSecretChordX@aol.com.
The End
Angel’s hands shook as he gazed at his new wife, her blonde hair and golden skin glistening in the sunlight that streamed in through the large bay windows of the hotel. She was the most beautiful woman in the world, and he would never know how he endured his life without her in it. She was kind, compassionate, and loving. She was –
“Damnit, Angelus, stop your gawking!” Spike said for the third time that hour. “She’s yours now, all right?”
“I just can’t believe… How? Why me?”
“Because you’re amazing,” said the woman in question as she sneaked up behind him and planted a kiss on his cheek.
“Eww!” Dawn wailed in disgust. “Every time I turn around, her lips are somewhere on him!”
“Eww? If you say eww to that…” Spike caught Buffy’s arm and hauled her against his chest for a searing kiss, earning yet another ‘eww’ from Dawn and several cheers from Anya and Willow.
Buffy was the first to break the kiss when she needed to breathe, and she grinned at Angel and his new wife, Kate, a fellow officer.
The fact that they bore a vague resemblance to one another was not lost on either blonde, but it was something they both chose to overlook. Kate was the bigger woman for it, Buffy thought.
“Now that the soddin’ ceremony is over, can we get to the whole wedding night part?” Spike whispered when Angel and Kate apparently got the same idea and disappeared from the room without another word to their guests.
“Is that all you ever think about?!” Buffy cried in mock horror.
“Well, yeah, but…” Spike fell silent when he noticed his father talking to Faith of all people. The brunette was dressed modestly for once, and she seemed genuinely interested in what Giles had to say.
“Whoa.” Dawn nearly tripped over her feet at the sight, and she inched closer to listen in on their conversation.
Spike kissed Buffy’s temple lightly and almost laughed at the situation. A year ago, he had been convinced that he would never see her again. Now they were married. Married!
“Dawn’s going to eavesdrop,” she said with a devious smile, a golden brow arching as she watched Giles lead Faith onto the dance floor.
“I want you upstairs, naked, and on the bed in five minutes,” he whispered silkily against her ear before claiming her lips for a brief kiss. Reluctantly, he urged her away.
Buffy, her eyes already darkening with lust, nodded and kissed his cheek. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” he answered with a contented smile, watching his father and the raven-haired girl as they danced. “Now, go. I want to see how this ends.”
